Credit card details (no AMEX) are required to secure your reservation, cancellation fees will apply in the event of a no-show or late cancellation.

“Pea Porridge” is a small independent restaurant. We rely on reservations being honoured and sufficient notice of any changes being given.
Cancellation outside of 24hrs of reservation will not incur any cost and should you wish to change your booking we will endeavour to assist in finding an alternative.
Cancellation within 24hrs of reservation will result in £30 charge for any cancelling guest.
Bookings of 5 or more respectfully require 48hrs notice of cancellation/reduction in numbers – cancelling within 48hrs of reservation will result in £30pp fee.
In the event of a no-show or late cancellation (2hrs before the time of arrival) we will apply a charge of £50pp.

About Pea Porridge Restaurant

Estabilished in 2009, warmly and personally run by chef/patron Justin Sharp and his wife Jurga. This is Suffolks first and only Michelin Star restaurant in the 2021 Guide UK.
Tucked away on a residential square this relaxed, informal neighborhood restaurant’s unusual name is a nod to the old town green which once stood out front. The two brick cottages date back to 1820 and formerly served as a bakery, the original cast iron bread oven is still in situ.
It has a homely bohemian vibe with wooden furnishings and interesting artwork hung on exposed brick walls.
The daily changing menu of Middle-Eastern/
Mediterranean influenced dishes see lots of ingredients cooked on the "Grizzly" charcoal oven. The sourdough flatbread fresh from the oven kicks things off perfectly and the unfussy dishes deliver bold, well-defined Moorish inspired flavours which are skillfully executed. The small esoteric wine list champions organic/natural wines, favoring small dynamic producers.

A small proportion of our tables are sold twice. There might be a leave time for your reservation, please make sure to check your booking details.

VEGANS – PLEASE CALL PRIOR TO BOOKING TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.
We are not able to offer a full vegetarian menu or cater for major allergies.
We do not accept babies or young children in the restaurant; well-behaved children happy to dine from regular menu at full price are welcome.
If you have mobility issues, please get in touch before booking. Very few tables in our restaurant can accommodate a wheelchair. We do not have a disabled lavatory.
No dogs are permitted.
Covid19 – we are complying with all current Government guidelines, we ask the same of our guests.
We kindly ask you to arrive at the exact time of your reservation please call us if you are delayed. We have a 15min grace period before the table is released.
