About PAX Burger
Exciting new gourmet burger restaurant, owned by Eric Paxman. Casual dining and delicious food made with local ingredients!
Great place to enjoy delicious food with a young family.
Been many times but felt disappointed by yesterday’s visit. I ordered a cocktail but I didn’t feel the flavour was balanced well. The food was ok but my Husbands burger was a little dry. The service was good up until the end of the meal when I ordered another drink that then took a very very long time to arrive. When we asked for the bill this also took a long time and then when it arrived we were asked to pay downstairs. We then had to join a queue of people checking in, paying their bill and picking up take away orders, we had to queue for around 10/15 mins and there were many people behind us, this spoiled the evening really, could be done so much better.
Best burgers I’ve ever tasted. Service and atmosphere is great. Restaurant feels very cosy and “home like”.
Really like dining at Pax, great food&like atmosphere.
I have been to Pax many, many times over the years and this was very below par. The chicken wings had far too much batter and the sauce was smothered all over so you couldn’t taste anything but that. The kitchen had run out of burger buns and so my friends Oozey Bloozey came on a granary roll which was falling apart and completely inappropriate to the burger- the tastes were all confused. My burgers was smothered in bbq sauce and so I couldn’t taste anything but that. The whole restaurant was also really cold.
Great food. Service could up its game a little but in all was a fab dining experience for the group. We will return!!
Burger was too greasy and upset my stomach. Could not taste the actual burger.
Food was lovely, service was great too! It was good that they took so much care when dealing with my allergy. Thank you
We arrived the table we waited for the table. Then we left for about 30mins before someone came and ask us for a drink. The food porchen was a but small.
It was near the end of the night and the waitress was re filling the cutlery tins. She was clearly in a rush to leave and was making at real noise rushing to ‘throw’ the cutlery in the tins. This was off putting and unprofessional. She then placed the restocked tin on our table before we had left. The food was gorgeous
Ordered the waffles for pudding and it was a different type of waffle that we received- not what was on the menu. Miss the special ketchup. Seems to be lacking in atmosphere and food is decling
Food was great, service excellent but there was too many people in such small space. Some of them were obnoxiously loud.. Other than this it’s fab place!
The chips, and in particular the onion rings and chicken wings were almost black they were so overdone. If I wasn’t starving I wouldn’t of eaten them but took some eating being so rock hard. Think the fryer oil was in desperate need of changing. Was disappointing as come quite a lot and normally enjoy the food
Young and inexperienced staff had no idea what they were doing, had to ask for water 5 times and when it came we weren’t given any glasses. Order was wrong when it arrived. Meal felt rushed and impersonal. Not my first time at pax but will probably be my last
Very over priced!! Some food over cooked. Don’t think we will be returning.
We brought our friends here as it was their first time and our third. We really enjoyed the food and drinks. But most of all appreciated the extra touch - our waitress had noticed that I was pregnant and offered to have my burger cooked all the way through as she stated they are usually served pink. I hadn't thought about this so she saved us the embarrassment of having to send it back. Only thing I would say about the atmosphere was that the lights were very bright but you can't have everything! Thanks for a lovely time.
Food was fantastic, lots of choice and unusual combinations to try! Kids menu is good and great value for money. The environment is relaxed and very child friendly. The staff were very efficient.
Been several times before. Overall good again although my first choice of burger wasn’t available which was disappointing. Service was quite slow given that the restaurant wasn’t busy.
Seated at 1915, food didn't arrive until 2010. One of our party asked for the burger to be well done (she is pregnant) it was sent back as it was slightly pink. We asked for a jug of water for the table, this didn't arrive. The food was nice, just a little slow.
Not as good as usual, menu quite limited compared to last visit and quality not up to the usual standards.
The burger was fantastic although waiting nearly 50 mins for it to arrive is a little long. Didn’t stop an enjoyable first experience at Pax
Been quite a few times now to Pax Our last visit was fantastic.... best burger I’ve ever had!
The chicken on our burgers and when ordered on its own came in burnt. Disappointing! The service wasn't great either!
