Situated in Brighton’s bustling Lanes, Pascere is a convivial all-day restaurant where guests will find exceptional food, exciting wines and engaging service.
The 37-cover, split-level restaurant is an intimate space with a relaxed yet refined feel, featuring a vibrant open kitchen upstairs with seats at the Chef’s Counter, a relaxed wine bar downstairs and a sunny outdoor terrace ideal for soaking up the atmosphere of the city.
Guests can enjoy an all-day selection of small plates, exciting à la carte lunch and dinner menus, all of which change seasonally and focus on the best local produce.
The Pascere kitchen is run by Head Chef Ben Porter who has over 15 years’ experience in Michelin starred kitchens and demonstrates a flair for creative, elegant dishes and modern British menus.
Food is perfectly matched by Pascere’s diverse wine list, boasting an extensive by-the-glass offering, including eight sparkling wines and champagnes, that showcases a diverse range of regions and varietals with a strong selection of organic and natural wines and a focus on Southern European producers.
We opted for the a la carte and whilst the food was well presented and well cooked, the portion sizes were too small ( with the exception of dessert- which was the best course). We arrived at the beginning of service but still expected the restaurant staff to be ready and not doing last minute prep which meant that I had to ask for a glass of bubbly instead of being asked. No knowledge about wine/grape varieties. Female manager who used to run a pub sounds like a pub manager. A restaurant with this menu and prices in Brighton needs more polished staff. Let's hope it improves as definitely has promise but here are lots of great restaurants in Brighton.
Baring in mind that this is the first week they have been open, you would expect a few hiccups! If there were we certainly did not see them. Right from the start we were made to feel extremely welcomed. The time that has been taken and effort made to get pretty much everything right is noticeable. Their wine list is different and covers everybody's pocket, the food is exceptional but bare it in mind it is designed to have three courses. You will leave very satisfied and your taste buds will be extremely glad you ate here. Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. This Resturant will hopefully do very well and we will definitely be back soon. Thanks for great evening.
Brilliant new restaurant. The interior is rather beautiful but also comfy. We sat upstairs where the open kitchen is - good choice I would say, though can't comment on downstairs - looked nice too. Lots of window seats. Had the a la carte - very nicely put together menu and portion sizes not ridiculous - so could try all 3 courses (but prices reasonable too). The dessert (lavender curd with blueberry & parma violet sorbet with blueberry meringue chips) was outstandingly memorable. Wine list is a highlight - lots to have by 125ml glass or 375ml carafe - which means you can try lots of different wines rather than only having a choice of glass of house or full bottles. Bex our server was delightful. Though only day 2 of full public opening, it was humming as a well-established operation. Tried to think which of the categories was only 4 stars rather than 5 but couldn't honestly say one was. Bravo!
From start to end a fantastic experience. The setting, atmosphere and decor are wonderful matched by the welcome and customer service from the staff throughout. The seating upstairs by the open kitchen is a great experience to watch and listen to. The food presentation and quality of was superb with a great selection on the menu. We would definitely recommend anyone to book a table as we will be back soon. Many thanks to everyone at the restaurant for a great experience
