At Padrone we have elevated pizza making to an art form.
Hand built for us in Verona, Italy, our wood-fired pizza oven is at the heart of our creations.
We use the finest Italian ingredients - 00 flour, homemade tomato sugo and 100 percent mozzarella or buffalo mozzarella.
Our slow-rising dough is hand stretched and baked at up to 500c to create a thin and light pizza.
It's said pizza dates back to the 5th century BC when Greek settlers founded Neapolis 'New Town' and brought with them 'pita' bread.
It evolved into pizza - a peasant meal in Naples where bread baked on stones in a fire was used as a plate and topped with anything from cheese to olives.
In 1889, Italian Queen Margherita tried her subjects recipe and loved it so much that a restaurant owner made a special pizza in her honour.
He topped focaccia bread with red tomatoes, white mozzarella cheese and green basil to match the colours of the Italian flag.
The classic 'Pizza Margherita’ was born and the world's love of pizza began.
Padrone is currently one of our favourite restaurants....great food, great service, great value for money. Keep it up guys.
First time at Padrone, excellent service and food. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely fabulous evening! Thank you for having us.
Another fabulous experience. Food is authentic..the calzone was delicious and loved the creative touch in the presentation of it. All very reasonably priced. Looking forward to my next visit.
Pizzas were excellent. 2 of our party had half pizza, half pasta but the pasta portion seemed quite small with very little chicken.
Pleasant night out with quality food.
fantastic ! table was ready and waiting for us. Excellent food and service , definitely a favourite with our family
Service was slow as there didn't appear to be enough staff on . Waitress very apologetic. Food was lovely. Coming back for my 50th birthday
Our waitress was lovely, good food and nice atmosphere.
Excellent place. Can’t fault anything.
Had the seafood risotto, very tasty but very little seafood in it! The pulled pork pizza was also very good but a bit scarce with the topping. Good service, felt sorry for the staff in the heat! Would come again (this was our first visit)
I’ve been to Padrone on numerous occasions, I’ve always been satisfied with the restaurant. However, this is the first time I’ve pre/booked a table. When we arrived it was clear that a table had not been reserved. Four days notice of our booking and we were seated at a table in the bowels of the restaurant. Service was poor, difficult getting the attention of staff for the basics i.e knife & fork, drinks, the bill etc etc. The waiter even asked “do you want a knife and fork or are you happy with a pizza cutter?” come on padrone!!! Previous vists to padrone have been good. However, they never involved a reservation, we just ‘turned up’ as the restaurant’s previous policy dictated. In sum, do not reserve a table at this restaurant, it’s a waste of time. Go to the restaurant, have a drink at the bar and wait for s decent table to become available. Get a grip Padrone.
Lovely food, great service.
thanks for catering for my two vegan friends. We all really enjoyed the food
