About Oxwich Bay Hotel
The Oxwich Bay Hotel is situated in 8 acres of private grounds, overlooking a spectacular 2.5 mile beach setting. Dining at the Oxwich Bay is a unique experience that will last long in the memory. As one of the best restaurants in Swansea, our Head Chefs have created a series of menus which showcase their innovative style, and fresh, contemporary dishes have been specially designed to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. The hotel’s wine cellar is also home to a wide selection of wines and spirits, carefully chosen to fully complement our range of menus.
We understand that eating out is as much about the ambiance as it is the food. Therefore, we offer a number of attractive dining options, ranging from our impressive garden terrace with its sweeping views of the bay, to more intimate and atmospheric areas such as our rustic Chestnut Room. Light lunches and bar snacks can also be enjoyed in the comfort of our cosy Chestnut Lounge.
Love the food & friendliness...the location is the cherry on the cake...my daughters wedding would av been yesterday but out of our hands with what's goin on ...unfortunate for others weddings also.but so glad shes got in for nxt year cant wait .
We had a great time Saturday night at this hotel Our waitress was brilliant, we will be back next time we visit Gower.
We had a wonderful afternoon tea. Surpassed our expectations. Table presentation, variety of tasty treats and lovely staff made for a perfectly relaxing break from work. We will certainly be repeating our visit.
Only thing that we didnt like was the power cut. Everything else was first class.
Thank you for a great winter week. The hotel was comfortable, clean and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. Afternoon tea Amazing!
Really appreciated the call regarding the road closure and help with a route as we are not from the area.
I am afraid I cannot remember her name but the lady with the short dark hair who took care of us was excellent and nothing was too much trouble even moving tables and chairs for us so people could sit together. All the restaurant staff were good. We have been coming to you at the same time for about 5 or 6years and have booked for next year.
Lovely meal, however, space was a bit cramped for a dog the size of ours!
We arrived early and were accommodated after a short wait in the cramped bar area. The table was set quickly and we were told to inform the waitress when we were ready for the afternoon tea. When the waiter arrived he was ready to take a food order even though I spoken to the waitress and said I had pre-booked the afternoon tea. After a short wait our picnic bench arrived but sadly no tea and noone had asked what tea we wanted. This was rectified eventually (we had to ask twice) but had to wait even longer for sugar and milk. The food was both tasty and freshly prepared (except the Welshcakes which were rather stale) with a wide selection of sweet and savoury and my dietary requirements were met. Leftover cakes were boxed after asking 3 times. The staff made it very clear they were rushed off their feet and we were told the supervisor had gone home because she found the whole day too stressful. One waiter also told us he was "losing it". Although the food was good, the waiting time and unprofessional attitude from several members of staff did mar what should have been a pleasurable experience.
From when we made the booking and you rearranged things to get us in on such a busy day, through to the friendly service throughout the meal, you helped to make it a special family day. Thankyou
We had a fantastic lunch with family. Santa is exceptional, the children and adults loved chatting with him whilst we were waiting for our food and then visiting him after food in his grotto. This is our second visit and we will be back again next year. It was very well organized and doesn’t feel as rushed and overbooked as other places you can visit Santa. Thank you to all the staff for helping us make fabulous memories with our children.
Excellent service!! Food was outstanding and Santa was the icing on the cake, he is the real deal and gave lovely age appropriate presents. Thank you oxwich bay, we will definitely be back.
After having our wedding here in 2018 we always look for a reason to come back so every year we come for the Santa experience and this year was no different. Staff so friendly and welcoming, atmosphere was great and both adults and children enjoyed. Santa as always was the best
Would have been great if Santa could have come around the restaurant to see the children, like he did when we came to visit in 2018. But it was a wonderful experience this year too, we did enjoy. Santa is great with the children.
There was a little confusion over our food order but it did not spoil our experience, w all enjoyed the excellent meals. Santa was good fun and the grotto experience was again enjoyed by all, although our two babies under one don’t look like in their photographs:) lovely family time
Excellent service, staff went all out to make the sure the children had a wonderful and magical afternoon. Food was fresh and really enjoyable and excellent value for money.
We came for lunch with Santa. Service was a bit slow. We didn't receive all our vegetables with our main meal. Unfortunately, there was a Christmas wedding also which meant we had to see Santa in the entrance of the restaurant which was a bit draughty for my 1yr old. Lovely Santa and great costume. Few minor issues which could be resolved easily. Bit difficult to do a wedding and Santa's grotto at once. Maybe one of the other would be best
Again, this year was a total success. The food was amazing and the visit to see Santa was just magical. Our daughter really came out of her shell and only being 20 months she had a totally amazing time seeing him.
We attended the Santa afternoon this year. We were quite disappointed compared to last year. There was a wedding on the same day and we were placed in a small side room away from the festive atmosphere. We spent a maximum of a minute with santa and he showed his face for a 30 seconds before our meal. He spent a while with us the year before, occupying the children and making jokes. This year was very poor compared to last. I only wish they had told us about the wedding prior, we could have booked an alternative date then. However, the staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough to please and help!
We had a fantastic meal and Santa visit. Food was lovely and hot, tasty and good size. Santa was amazing with the little ones and food gift too. We are still waiting for our pictures to be emailed over though. Will be trying the evening with Santa next year.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to see Santa for the second year.
Fantastic Christmas visit. Food fantastic service fantastic and obviously the real Father Christmas. Oxwich bay at Christmas has been our family Christmas tradition for the past 7 years and it never fails to impress.
Lovely festive atmosphere the children really enjoyed and the food was lovely
Lovely food and nice added touch for the children to meet santa
