About Oxwich Bay Hotel
The Oxwich Bay Hotel is situated in 8 acres of private grounds, overlooking a spectacular 2.5 mile beach setting. Dining at the Oxwich Bay is a unique experience that will last long in the memory. As one of the best restaurants in Swansea, our Head Chefs have created a series of menus which showcase their innovative style, and fresh, contemporary dishes have been specially designed to appeal to a wide variety of tastes. The hotel’s wine cellar is also home to a wide selection of wines and spirits, carefully chosen to fully complement our range of menus.
We understand that eating out is as much about the ambiance as it is the food. Therefore, we offer a number of attractive dining options, ranging from our impressive garden terrace with its sweeping views of the bay, to more intimate and atmospheric areas such as our rustic Chestnut Room. Light lunches and bar snacks can also be enjoyed in the comfort of our cosy Chestnut Lounge.
We got married here in February and were given a complimentary voucher for a 2 course meal. As we were child free for the night we decided to use our voucher. We were greeted by our waiter who was friendly and accommodating. The food was as we had expected- delicious! Our only regret was that we were too full for desert (they sounded amazing) We will definitely return in the near future. Thank you again for your hospitality and a second to none service!
The girl who brought my food was uncertain what it was and was rather grumpy. I had the main course of Welsh lamb. It was delicious but had very few veggies and I left feeling hungry.
Fabulous afternoon tea. Friendly helpful staff I would highly recommend it
Surprised at the quality of the food! Will visit again when next walking through. Interior has several really interesting, quirky features Also name spelt with 'an' at the end
Food was really good as was the service. I think the atmosphere may be different out of the summer season but I felt as if I was in a beach bar. People strolling through the area in beach clothes and using the toilets to change their clothes. Difficult to control as most of the clientele were from the beach. Felt that the drinks from the bar were over priced. £27 for a bottle of Prosecco is extortionate
We ordered mocktails. £6plus each but poorly made and lacking some of the listed ingredients! Bar staff member who served us seemed out of her depth. Fish and chips were not hot.
Wonderful as always can't fault in any way
The visit on Saturday the 13th for afternoon tea was enjoyed very much by our group of sixteen,it was a very busy afternoon, but the staff were excellent in dealing with our group of a certain age.the tea was excellent as well, with tea and coffee freshly replenished as needed.Thank you and they would like to come again.
It was our first visit with family (and the dog!). We’d reserved an inside table in case of rain but were happily able to sit outside. At first glance at the menu, I thought the range limited. However, in closer inspection we all found a suitable meal and were delighted with the quality and service. Excellent fish and chips, linguini and a chicken jerk burger. The outside tables were a little tired, but the atmosphere was relaxing and they provided several water bowls for dogs. I hadn’t realised how easy access there was to the beach but had a lovely walk after lunch and returned for coffee. Everyone satisfied and I will go again Thank you
Lovely evening in the snug which meant that our dogs Buddy and Doug could join in for my birthday celebration at the Oxwhich Bay hotel. I had a very authentic Caesar salad which was delicious and Broletta as a main course which an amazing dish for a sea food lover and cooked to perfection. Staff were amazing and wanted to make sure everything was just right for our party, I will definitely come back here soon!
Slightly larger choice of main courses?
Book a table in the Chestnut Room for Sunday lunch only to be moved to the bar/restaurant room and then told when placing the order that Sunday lunch had stopped at 3pm. We ended up spend over £75 on BLT sandwich, pizza, fish and chips and burger and chips. Very disappointed with service and overall experience.
The day we visited we had a very polite waitress to start, but she disappeared half way through our meal and no one registered the fact that we waited over 20 minutes with empty plates in front of us. We had to ask for them to be cleared away. There seemed to be far too few staff on duty and service was very slow. Menu showed “Fish Pie” , but after one diner ordered this, we were told it was a “small misprint” and we’d been given incorrect menus. Such a shame as we have returned annually for a very long time but think it was our last visit yesterday. Staff were friendly and polite but just too few of them to cater for such a large amount of customers, as you had a wedding party in and lots in the garden on the day we visited.
Had a very nice exprience while visiting for afternoon tea Sandwiches, savouries, cakes and scones were plentiful and Very fresh and tasty. Service was Exellent and the the staff were very accommodating. Also Enjoyed a sunday lunch the weekend before Again food and service and staff were Exellent Definitely going again for both.
Highly recommended!!!! Great location, fabulous views overlooking the bay , great staff , friendly, focused and attentive not overpowering . Looking forward to my next visit already.
Really enjoyed food, fab service however tables are looking a bit tatty and could do with repainting/updating.
Outstanding food, outstanding service
child's meal was put directly in front of my 18 month old child immediately he put his hand in the mushy peas. the mushy peas were so hot that it would have burnt a adult resulting in my babies hand needing ice cold water to treat his burnt hand. No accident form was done only a discount to the bill. Also the child's desert (fruit salad) was served with whole grapes which is a choking hazard to children under 5 (should be cut in quarter length ways)
I absolutely loved our 24hours at Oxwich hotel just a shame we couldn’t stay for longer. The atmosphere and people including staff and other guests were all so friendly and just made the whole experience even better! Loved how dog friendly it was
The sandwich fillings weren't very exiting...(plastic cheese) Smoked salmon would have been better. Very generous with cakes, and hot drinks. Pleasant staff, but unable to find a take home box for cakes we couldn't eat. We were given a large ex ice cream plastic box. However, we were generally happy with the experience.
Excellent afternoon tea, a change from the normal sandwiches and cakes. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. Will be back
Very enjoyable experience, the food was very nice, excellently presented and the service was very good.
As usual, all the staff were friendly and helpful
The afternoon tea was delicious with a lovely variety of treats. Serving staff were very friendly and welcoming. Stunning location. Very good value for money.
Lovely food, and staff are very friendly and helpful.
