Afternoon Tea is served daily 14.00-18.00
Sandwiches and cake portions were very dry and the bread and cake were stale and This was for all food for 8 people. It was as though the sandwiches and cakes were left over from yesterday or made in the very early hours of the day. We were the first sitting at 2.15 so should have fresh food. Very good service but the restaurant was empty. I would not recommend due to the lack of attention to quality of food. Atmosphere was nice and decor was lovely. A shame about the food
Very enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere will definitely return
The service was incredibly slow and the dining room was very quiet with only one other table occupied. It took well over an hour to serve us with a starter and a main course which if it had been busy I could understand but it definitely was not.
Great food and great place. The hotel will always have a special place in our hearts as we had our wedding reception here.
Excellent food and service.
The service we received for our Afternoon Tea was excellent. Staff were welcoming, friendly, polite and efficient. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!
There was not enough food, whenever we have been to other afternoon teas they always keep on top and offer extra, when we came today there was no chance to get extras unless you paid more on top. Music came on as we was leaving.
Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive from initial booking to service on day. Venue / atmosphere was lovely, definitely visit again. Enjoyed afternoon tea - have had more variety in cakes at other venues but other than that could not fault experience. 5*
The effort made to ensure we had a good anniversary was excellent
My wife was given an afternoon tea gift for her birthday via Gift Experience. I booked it with your receptionist who asked me if there were any special dietary requests. I said that my wife needs to have a gluten free tea. As there was no mention of this on the confirmation of the booking that was sent to me, I phoned and was assured that the request had been noted. When the tea was brought to us, the gluten free tea was not present and it took ages for it to appear. It spoilt the occasion somewhat. I will say that the waitress was very good, however but there was obviously a problem of communication between the reception and the kitchen. Not impressed.
We were very impressed with the staff and the food was excellent. It is very unusual forme to eat scones etc as they are normally too stodgy. Once again thanks for an enjoyable afternoon tea and give my compliments to the chef.
Staff were all very pleasant and professional and genuine, food was of a high quality, nice relaxing atmosphere.
Have been to several afternoon teas and I have found that the food offered was quite boring and bland. Others have had little trifles, several different cakes to choose from a little salad dressing to dress the plates too. They were better value for money too.
3rd time here for afternoon tea and never disappointed , thank you
Young girl serving us was very pleasant and attentive as was the young man who first showed us to our table We had a 3.45 afternoon tea booked but didn’t leave till 7.45 and nobody made us fell we were in the way we had a great time sitting chatting and would be very happy to go back Afternoon tea was lovely plenty of clotted cream plenty of hot water to add to our tea pots
Excellent service. Friendly staff and delicious food. Would recommend to friends and family and will return.
Excellent afternoon tea experience
Probably one of the worst afternoon tea’s I have ever had. The service was absolutely awful. I got one cup of tea- yes one the whole time I was there then left with a jug of tap water. Points to improve on: Greet your guests with a smile Ask them what type of tea they would like Serve them the tea in their own tea pot & leave on the table When you bring out the sandwiches- explain to the guests what they are and if they are happy with the selection. In addition, this should be done for any sweets that you serve as part of the experience. Check in on your guests and ask if everything is okay and maybe would they like more sandwiches. Having some music play in the background to make an atmosphere Having white linen table cloths separate on selected tables for your afternoon tea guests As you can tell none of this was done, I did not take my jacket off the whole time I was there and quite frankly couldn’t wait to leave. The atmosphere was depressing and it stank of a fry up. Sort it out guys or just cut your afternoon tea altogether Tell the chef: Sandwiches at afternoon tea need the crusts cut off them, the cakes need to be bigger than a postage stamp. Here’s a positive: keep the scones, cream & jam they tasted great.
Service and food great and made a nice change. Had a voucher which made it exceptional value. We went early evening with grown up family. The restaurant was quiet, but our table was cosy and we were able to chat without lots of background noise. Enjoyed by all.
Very welcoming and attentive staff
Nice and quite
Excellent service lovely surroundings
Excellent restaurant for both food and service but we were the only ones in the restaurant so no atmosphere at all.
It was a bit quiet. The choices on the menu are quite small.
