Otro is a restaurant based in the heart of Edinburgh's West End serving our take on classic brasserie-style dishes. With an emphasis on locally-sourced Scottish produce, a wine list specially tailored to our menu and dedication to providing familiar favourites with our own continental spin, Otro is perfect for any event from special occasion dining to a casual meal with friends.
We look forward to your visit.
Booked for12 upon arrival told we could only choose from a set menu. Set menu price was incorrectly printed. Service was good but slow as very under staffed, even though 10% was added for table over 10. Puddings were missing, as they'd run out, but still charged for. Food was good
Communication a problem with wait staff but service fine once ordered. Too much piled on top of sae bass. This is a delicate fish. Steaks could have been charred better.
Excellent meal as usual. Fantastic restaurant, great value for lunch & excellent service
Really tasty food, good portions. Lovely atmosphere, not too formal but nice for an evening meal. We did wait a little bit to be given our menus, but after that the service was good.
Wonderful family lunch at Otro - would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent lunch menu all food well cooked and presented.
I come to Otro reguarly and last night was a poor show from your normal standard. first ordered some white wine it was so warm I had to ask for ice, i mentioned it to waiter and he apologiesed I ordered 2nd glass of wine equally warm no apology. olives which i order every single time, were bland a bit dried out and flaver-less, my starter was so bland, had the black pudding fritter on a few occasionas and it was like a different starter. my friends soup was lovely and the only decent thing. the fish was o.k, but the cold bland split peas, tasteless and the meant to be pickled mango was tasteless and so hard it was crunchy, not tasting of pickle or mango randomly. the chicken dish was lacking seasoning. normally I rave about Otro but think ill be giving it a miss for a while.
Probably more atmosphere if the restaurant had been busier, otherwise nice place with good food and service.
The food was excellent and the welcome was very friendly.
Excellent service and very nice food - we had a great lunch and were made to feel very welcome
Every bite was delicous. Service was very pleasant and prompt. Price was very reasonable.
Food is amazing!!
Food was fantastic and the staff and service were excellent. I will definitely return.
Fantastic restaurant! Unusual combinations of food that work extremely well together and is delicious! Great value for money too. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
A thoroughly enjoyable experience from the online booking through to the end of our meal. We all loved the food, decor and your friendly, helpful staff.
Great overall, lovely cocktails and food. Peppercorn sauce was not the best I’ve had but the chef did (at my request) cook my steak well done, which of course is a sin but they did it anyway and was thoroughly enjoyed. Pudding was chocolate mouse with caramel ice cream and delightfully crunchy morsels of merengue. Yummy yummy. Service did a wonderful job under pressure as it was the night of the Rolling Stones gig at Murrayfield and the place was pretty mobbed. My favourite thing, a bit weird I know, was the butter served with the delicious sourdough bread. It was the tastiest butter I’ve ever had. Wish I knew what brand it was. Otro, private message me with the info if you’d like!!! We live in Aberdeenshire but will definitely go again next time we’re in town.
A group of 10 were well looked after
Worth a visit!
Once again the standard of food and service was absolutely first class. We've reserved Otro for a big event later in the year as we enjoy it so much.
Our party was booked in for 7pm, half of them did not arrive until 7:15pm which was unfortunate but it took until 7:50 for our food and drinks order to be taken. We had to ask twice for this to happen. This was a shame as the food arrived in good time and was of excellent quality. Get the service right and we would have been 5 stars all the way through.
Monday lunchtime was probably not a good time to visit the restaurant as it was fairly quiet and this is the reason for only four stars for atmosphere. That being said it would not detract from a Monday lunchtime re visit at some stage in the future. I would imagine that weekends particularly evenings will be much more vibrant generating a better atmosphere.
Have been to New Chapter a few times, so had high expectations for Otro and it didn't disappoint. Food was delicious and would eat there again.
Lovely Sunday roast, we will be back for sure.
It was the first time visiting Otro for lunch after hearing great reports from friends so was very pleased to find all their recommendations were correct. Food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented and the service was very attentive. It was my Birthday and on realising that, the waiter added a few extra “touches” which were much appreciated.
