We look forward to your visit.
Generally food tasty except pasta which was pretty poor and tastless.
Delicious food and very attentive staff!
Held a corporate dinner last week. The food was spectacular with delicious vegan and vegetarian options (which is not always easy for large groups). I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone considering a corporate or private event here as the food and service were exceptional.
Favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Never disappoints. Staff so friendly and food delicious.
Great service and delicious food.
The food was really good and a nice atmosphere!
A fantastic place. Great food and ambience. The staff were terrific too.
Beautiful Georgian interiors refreshed into contemporary dining spaces. We went for the pre-theatre menu; 3 options for each: starters, mains and dessert. Food was very good, presented with care. In my opinion, the current design of the menu should, however, be reviewed, since the ‘poached salmon, Jersey Royal potatoes, baby artichoke, tomato & olive salad’ starter (which is served over an abundance of lettuce) when ordered along with the Caesar salad, ends up being too much of the same (salad/lettuce) and the other non-vegetarian main option is hake, so it is likely for these to be ordered by the same diner. The other starter; serrano ham & pea croquettes, smoked paprika aioli & manchego cheese was a flavoursome, crunchy and overall an original take on croquettes. The hake was a beautifully balanced dish, (smoked mash potatoes, creamy, buttery and certainly smokey, chicken butter sauce, peas topped with crispy chicken skin); really delightful. Desserts were off the chart, basil and strawberry cheesecake with strawberry sorbet was original and tantalising and the chocolate mousse rich and chocolatey, both full of elements to add textures and complimentary flavours (honeycomb, nougat brittle, caramel ice cream...) making the experience a real treat. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall a very nice discovery that I would definitely recommend to others.
Nice casual atmosphere never felt rushed. Great summer food
This was our 3rd visit and love coming here when we're in Edinburgh. Food is delicious and service very good too. Reasonably priced food but watch out for added extras on the set lunch, which can then become rather expensive.
Thank you very much for your warm hospitality & nice food.
A lovely Sunday lunch with family. Warm greetings from staff, recognising us from previous visits. Very relaxed. Other than the Roast Beef it was good to see some changes and variety in the other options across whole menu since our last visit.
Wonderful food & service. I love it here but do find it pricey - perhaps have a few offers or cheaper options sometimes? I would come much more frequently.
Excellent food and service!
Fantastic wonderful and super tasty ! Our very first visit on our first visit to Edinburgh and we are already planning another visit to both ! Highly recommended
Great food and drink - so much choice - everything was so fresh and flavoursome
Good service, Ena was excellent. Good food, very good value.
Lovely restaurant, attentive staff, great food. Good pre theatre menu.
First time in Edinburgh and I didn't know what to expect. I was really impresses by the quality and the service even for the set menu. Ottro set the level high in the dinning experience of Edinburgh!
Had late Saturday lunch here with a friend. the set menu is fantastic valuee for money and no skimping on quality or taste. Even better was the quality of service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
A Restaraunt we’ve been to many times and rated very highly in the past so it comes as a major disappointment to note that a freshened up interior has been accompanied by a hike in prices and a drop in quality. No great surprise then that the place was half empty. To top things off spilling of red wine and the subsequent attitude of the waitress was deplorable. It is rare for us not to tip but Otro succeeded where few others have. We won’t be back.
I’m a bit sorry that the main dining room has been redecorated. I used to really like the abstract wall coverings. The food was delicious. We both really loved the roast beef. The service was attentive. I will definitely be back.
Toujours au top de la qualité, c'est toujours un délice et les tarifs sont très attractifs. See you soon 😉👍
We had lunch here and opted for the set menu and weren't disappointed. The rump steak was juicy bigger than expected and cooked to perfection, the hand cut chips were delicious crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside seasoned nicely. Highly recommend the cocktails the espresso martini was one of the best I have had we will definitely be back thank you to the staff for the friendly relaxed service
Food is exceptional at Ottro my only slight negative about this restaurant is the cost of wine which I think is a little pricy.
