About Origins @ Marine
Origins have crafted a menu that offers relaxed social dining in the comfortable surrounds of a modern kitchen-focused restaurant. Whether it is tapas, natural wines and craft beer or a full sit-down dining experience you're after, you'll find it at Origins.
At Origins Small Plates pays tribute to the social act of sharing. Shoots, Stems & Leaves takes inspiration from the earth; local, seasonal produce delivered as complex, delicious salads. Our mains and sides are Hunted and Gathered; each ingredient reflecting our surroundings. Desserts with local flavour bring The Sweetness, and artisanal Cheeses of the Region round out the menu.
Our ‘Chef's Blackboard' will introduce at least 3 new daily dishes to reflect the season, and allow us to champion the exciting fresh produce we find.
We celebrated our 2nd wessing anniversary and could not have asked for any better service nor food. Everything was just amazing not even to mention the little suprize they arranged for us. They are truly an amazing team and thank you once again.
Everything was perfect
Amazing food and extremely nice people!
I felt the menu was slightly limited and he wine list slightly lengthy
Friendly service - not easy with South Africa world champion rugby ...
Really great food , good price !! We enjoyed every bite
Genuinely excellent food, though at a price. Overall, a very good experience. The restaurant is a little noisy but tables are well spaced. Service is perhaps not quite as professional as the food. Alcohol mark ups are high for SA.
We were a group of 4 fiends and we really enjoyed the ambience and the food. We found the wine corkage fee to be excessive. Sylvester's service was excellent.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant was lively but a little bit noisy. Service was very attentive at times but also sometimes absent. We had to ask for wineglasses to be refilled and for more water.
We visit Hermanus as often as we can and always find time to dine at the Marine at least twice and are never disappointed.
Great service, beautiful views, great food and an extra star for having dairy alternatives for my morning cappuccino :)
Great food and service. This was our last night following a 2 week tour and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food - both very tasty and original. Good service and most enjoyable
We know the Marine well. Last night we were seated next to the noisy kitchen and asked to be moved. The only table available was across the corridor where we were cold and it was lacking in atmosphere. Service was very slow with the bread for the mussels arriving when the meals had been eaten. Food was good but not our best experience
A truly enjoyable evening
Good food, but to fast
Excellent service and lovely food. Very nice menu. Not too long - usually a very good sign. Clearly the chefs know what they are doing, as does Clive on FOH. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable stay , the staff did all they could to book a last minute whale watching trip when the one we had booked was cancelled , the food and stay was very enjoyable .
We love this venue the food the staff and venue are all first class
Very good cuisine with a separate vegetarian menu containing original and satisfying dishes. Excellent service in a nice atmosphere. Jiust one small point of criticism - the drinks menu should contain a greater variety of non-alcoholic drinks, such as mocktails and non-alcoholic beer.
Seafood dishes were terrific.
Review by tourist from Japan with an experience in food industry. Visited for a dinner. Food was good but not inspiring. Tuna was slightly overcooked. Trout needed an accent in source. Maybe a good place to have sundowner owing to good atmosphere and service.
Superb vegetarian menu!
What a great meal. Perfect way to celebrate our wedding aniversary xx
