About Opal Restaurant at Radstone Hotel
The Opal Restaurant and Bar at The Radstone has a open airy feel to it, with glass panels framing fantastic views of the clyde valley and surrounding countryside. The use of contrasting colours and neutral walls complete the vibrant atmosphere.
Stayed one night dinner bed and breakfast £79 two course dinner . We were seated at the window lighting was so poor hubby used his torch on phone to see menu :)) , salt n pepper chicken not cooked right , chicken liver pate was excellent 👍🏼, main course macaroni the cheese was so thick at bottom of bowl you needed a saw to cut through it very poor, my chicken was ok but sautéed potatoes looked like boiled potato with skin on ? menu did not match what was on plates ?? drinks were served well and atmosphere in restaurant was nice music , breakfast first morning excellent , bacon eggs e.t.c done as requested and waitress very efficient and jovial ,. Next day was overnight with breakfast only £105 ?? Mon,tue?? breakfast cereal option better, hot food requested to older waitress she did not write our requests down our orders were mixed up , I asked for crispy bacon :(( it was a thick slice folded burnt edges on one side raw throughout ?? I asked the male server to replace it ? Again it was insufficient fatty and not cooked properly, when the waitress came back to our table she asked was everything ok , I said no , she asked what was wrong , and after telling her she persisted to ask further awkwardly I had a bit of toast in my mouth at the time so not convenient to chat , I did not want to discuss the food . In my book consistency , preparation, service within a day of each other was not repetitive or professional . Also given the current virus virus situation there was no sanitisers in around or throughout the entire facility, . The tables were dated and could easily be modernised , the lighting was too dark to see the menu, . The bar area was bright , good display of drinks , no drinks menu seen but service was efficient and helpful . overall need to ensure food matches menu and is cooked to perfection, (as requested) waitresses need to be like the girl on first night she was smart , inviting, professional, and did her job correctly .
Very professional and friendly service by your staff
Friendly atmosphere and always made to feel welcome.
We were very happy with the afternoon tea. The only thing we would comment on is the length of time we had to wait before our order was taken.
Enjoyed our overnight stay. The suite was spacious, very comfortable and included all the facilities that my wife and I needed. Had a good night’s sleep thanks to the superb bed. Excellent bathroom with very modern bath and a large corner walk-in shower cubicle
Food was great and the staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful.
The special menu really needs to have more choice!! We paid roughly £20 per head for 2 courses. The special menu was £16.50 each, that’s more than ample in our opinion. Don’t think we would rush back due to this?
Took my mum for afternoon tea. What a beautiful setting and the food was delicious. Staff were all very attentive. Thank you.
Fantastic food, & service in nice surroundings
Radstone Hotel in Stonehiuse situated in a gorgeous setting and near major traffic hubs. Fabulous staff who are extremely professional and cannot do enough for you. Comfy mattress and ability to self regulate the heat in the room. Brilliant hotel and smashing staff.
Having a gluten allergy the dinner menu was fab but, the breakfast menu was very limited. Especially if you are looking for a cooked Scottish breakfast in the morning. I will be back though.
Delighted as before have visited and was not impressed whether because it was a Monday but it was faultless and must comment on the steak burger what a feast. well done to the kitchen and serving staff
Great food and service well recommended
Possibly a light bite menu before 6pm for a quick meal before night out
The restaurant staff were very friendly and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and well presented. Excellent value too.
There for steak night. Lovely sirloin, great choice of sides. Only preference would be slightly bigger salad when picked as a side as it was quite small. Fantastic service though, all staff extremely friendly.
Lovely afternoon tea, a gift from my daughter
We waited over 35 mins for our starter. We were offered another drink to compensate for the delay but ended up being charged for it on our bill. We then waited another 30 mins for our main course which was cold and undercooked. It was not the best experience we have had. Very disappointed.
great food ,love the venue ,friendly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, in very pleasant surroundings.
This was a lunch for my husband's birthday we all enjoyed the meal and the restaurant was up to the standard we have come to expect as we have visited a few times now
Food was good. Nice friendly staff. Food was delayed as it was busy. We never complained as we were enjoying a drink but were offered a free drink by the very efficient manager who noticed. Will definitely return
Out of 5 courses between me and my partner 3 were nearly un edible and tasteless Salt and chilli starter was really good no faults Haggis and black pudding starter . Haggis ok but the black pudding was in edible rubber and sauce was tasteless Braised beef very fatty and not braised Prawn pasta very dry no flavour Scottish tablet Sunday was nice . Drinks and table service was good staff very nice just the overall food not great. For the price I would except a bit more .
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic, we will definitely be back.
The food was excellent, staff were pleasant and professional. The only criticism I have is the time we waited on each serving as it was really too long. But other than that everything was lovely
