About Opal Restaurant at Radstone Hotel
The Opal Restaurant and Bar at The Radstone has a open airy feel to it, with glass panels framing fantastic views of the clyde valley and surrounding countryside. The use of contrasting colours and neutral walls complete the vibrant atmosphere.
Really pleasant staff Good food choices Reasonable prices
Lovely surroundings- well looked after by staff- food was very good
Loved our stay. Relaxing atmosphere. Good food and friendly staff.
First class hotel. Great service, excellent food, lovely room, bonnie views, will definitely use again in the future. Thank you and well done
Great service and food was first class
Can’t fault the food or service , drinks can be a bit pricey but overall good value .
Great service, food, drink & atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
Relaxing atmosphere, good service very friendly staff who look happy to be there. Food was excellent, well presented, good flavour. Obviously good chefs and kitchen staff “behind the scene”
We came to Radstone quite a bit for food but sadly it’s becoming very poor quality. We had a burger and it was like rubber! Tasted like it was frozen. When we first started coming a few years ago they were amazing! There are other examples to of tasteless food. The menu now looks like a cafe one which is disappointing. We won’t be back in a hurry
Great food and very reasonably priced, the service could be a lot better. We ordered drinks as we were sat down but had our starter and then had ask for them during our main.
Would be good if you had CCTV in your car park - someone scraped my car !
Because we had invited Canadian visitors and recommended the Radstone for lunch based on previous good experiences, I didn't want to embarrass them by complaining about the food and service last Tuesday 4th June. I felt the waitress was very matter of fact, not much smiling, basic service. The lasagne was a small and very runny, in fact my friend had to ask for a spoon to finish his lasagne. My wife's mac and cheese, well I get better from Aldi. I am not in the habit of complaining, but I was really disappointed hence the rating above. I will think twice of recommending Radstone to my friends, unless this was a bad day in the kitchen. It was not in anyway good value for money. I trust this review will help you maintain your usual standard.
Thank you for prompt and kind attention when we were at The Radstone on Monday for my dads 88th birthday lunch. Great choice and love the specials menu. Well done and thanks to all.
We had a lovely lunch at the Opal restaurant. Staff were efficient, attentive and very pleasant. Thank you.
Steak night always good! Pity the creamy mushrooms were dropped as a side. Always friendly staff.
The service was not very effective, unfortunately we had to ask to put our drink order in, the food order was taken 30/40 minutes later, the table wasn't very clean, and the full placd looked untidy, the waiters/waitresses all looked confused as if their was no leadership and very under staffed, that stood out a mile, that is 3 times we have been in and that was the last time we shall be back it's a very grand place with great potential in the correct management,
We all enjoyed very tasty starter and main meals, but everyone (and there were 7 of us) was disappointed with our deserts - they were tasteless and uninspiring. Such a shame as we had enjoyed such tasty food up til then and the service was excellent.
food excellent staff and service first class
Fab staff, great food and flexible menu
Lovely place very cosy feel but nice and open at the same time with a great view to enjoy with your food. It is not clear which is the restaurant door and which is the hotel, there's no sign. On arriving we went through the hotel doors and made our way to the restaurant. None of the staff responded until we stood at the unit to be seated. Slow to come and take orders but the food arrived quickly. It was warm and everyone enjoyed their meal. Took a long time to pay the bill as well at the end though.
I often come for lunch for a catch up with 3 friends. We come 4 times a year for the last few years. One my friend brings her 3 year old. We had come in on Sunday for lunch. We ordered a kids garlic bread, mac and cheese and 3 adult meals. The kids garlic bread came and we had to chase up our meals after 45 mins. We got told there was a mix up. Meals came without kids meal and had to chase up. The sandwich I had was stale on one side. As if it had being sitting out. The kids mac and cheese had changed taste from last time. Tasted more like the packet mac cheese you get. Could not be eaten. The other two meals had been ok. The restaurant was not as busy as normal and 3 tables received their meals before ours after coming in after us. There was enough staff as they clearly floated about and could see them standing in the kitchen. No apology for poor service and time taken for 3 meals and a kids meal. Not had these issues before when been busier and disappointed this time. We all travel from different places. Glasgow, beattock and Dumfries. Thanks Karen
