A taste of Italy in the capital; Ombra is Cuba Street’s answer to a cosy Italian diner. Inspired by the informal bacarai (bars & restaurants) of Venice, they know how to slow it down and let you fully enjoy your dining experience. On the menu you’ll find an array of authentic dishes sectioned by small bites, salads and vegetables, plate-sized pizzas, rice and pasta, meatballs, fish and meat, and dessert, with plenty of gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. Pair some share plates with a selection from Ombra’s wine list or a classic Aperol Spritz so you can sip and watch Cuba Street pass you by.
amazing food and service, Great staff with great recommendations Would 100% dine again :)
A great restaurant with an excellent menu and wonderful, attentive staff. Thank you
Staff were attentive, personable and knew the menu (for recommending dishes). Food, as always, was exceptional - we didn't manage to try everything we wanted to from the menu so will be heading back soon.
Standard of service was top notch and standout - friendly, efficient, helpful, great team work, lovely staff.
A magical experience. Food to die for and a vibrant atmosphere.
Another wonderful night with you lovely folk! The meals and service excellent as always. You know we'll be back!
A wonderful night Jeremy provided excellent service and even took the time to give us out of towners advice for brunch
My fav restaurant in Wellington! Always enjoy coming to Ombra!
Great restaurant, vibe and staff! Nduja pizza could have done with a bit more spicy Nduja! But only splitting hairs here!
Excellent as always.
Service was amazing and food came out so quickly, and was delicious as always, would very highly recommend to anyone!!
Beautiful food lovely staff very nice
Wonderful meal, great service. Couldn’t fault it. Thank you!
Fantastic as always
Lovely meal! Nice service. Very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and return.
We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had a mixed experience. On the positive side, our server, Lewis, was very kind and serviceable. The food was nice, especially the meat balls with the green pesto sauce. The other plates were just OK. The house red wine was fine as well. On the other, negative side, we had to wait for a very long time for our food, especially the pizza. There are two additional details that we didn't like at all: I had asked the waiters to please bring a slice of cake with a candle to sing happy b-day to may wife at the end and it was very disappointing that they wouldn't. When I approached the counter to pay and told them that I was expecting the cake, they said that I needed to ask for a dessert. I don't understand why, since it was meant to be a surprise and I had already planned in advance when I made the online booking and they had agreed to that. They even called me earlier that day by phone to arrange the kind of cake. In the end, they apologized but the fact is that I left quite dissatisfied. Even more disturbing was the fact that they nearly kicked us out, arguing that the next customers were already there and that we needed to leave our table. That was a bit frustrating, especially because we had waited a lot for our food and because of the cake incident. As a suggestion, you could probably ask the customers when they book a table online, how long will they need the table for instead. Kind regards.
Loved duck risotto.
Fabulous service, delicious food which stayed hot and a great atmosphere
