About Oliveto at Haddington House
Oliveto is an award winning restaurant and part of Haddington House hotel which is located overlooking the beautiful Dun Laoghaire bay (20 minutes from Dublin City by Dart or car).
Oliveto draws inspiration from regional Italy, from Southern Puglia all the way up to Piedmont, with plenty of Spanish and French influences as well. Quality sourcing combined with skilled cooking highlights the special virtues of our produce without the need for complexity. In addition, Oliveto has a separate wood fired pizza kitchen where we cook artisan pizza and slow roast meats/fish and vegetables.
Our dining room has panoramic views over Dun Laoghaire bay and seats up to 100 people at any one sitting. In addition, Oliveto offers private dining in a beautifully appointed space with sea views, called the Library Bar. Both spaces compliment a house Gin Bar in our lobby and a full Garden Bar with a dedicated BBQ kitchen for Spring/Summer days.
Reservations are advised but we do our utmost to accommodate walk-ins as best we can. We hope to see you soon.
Menu items were fairly limited if you do not eat meat. Pizza looked good, should have tried that. The steak was prepared well as was the pasta. 2 members of the party had difficulty finding something to eat
Really great meal two nights in a row, first pizza perfection on friday and then 3 course delights the night after! Fantastic views of the sea too. Felt like being on holiday!
Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff
Great service, fab seat overlooking the bay. Most delicious burrata starter. Everything was delicious.
Great venue and lovely service. Although tasty food it was a bit pricey for food you get.
We had a lovely evening with a great window seat, delicious food and a really friendly waiter. The evening was so lovely we had our coffee in the garden outside overlooking the bay.
One of my favorite spots, fab view, great service and delicious food. What’s not to love!
Great Service and atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the venue and we were blessed with the weather. Thanks again
Really good food with a fantastic view- understanding staff too as we were unavoidably late
Great pizza. Great service. Great views over the water. We will be back!
Great venue and excellent food choices
Really enjoyed it. Lovely outlook
Thank you again for making our evening so special even more so being our third anniversary!
Thanks to Adrian and the team for a lovely evening. We sat in the garden and enjoyed the amazing pizzas and even better views. We brought our own throws but they also had some onsite. Service has really improved since last year and the entire team had a great night. Thanks!
Delicious food, stunning scenery & ambiance. Highly recommend for a cosy meal for two or a large gathering. We were a team of 14 for dinner and all of us are still talking about the food...so good.
My most recent experience was negative and it's a pity because I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Twice alone for work events, the last time staying the night at the Haddington. My husband brought me to Olivieto for my birthday Monday night. I chose the restaurant because it has been a favourite of mine in the past. Found the waiter with the messy little pony tail to be unfriendly off the back. Not even a smile or a how are you? Bit mopey. Fizzy drinks were served with far too much ice, too many slices of lime and well below the brim. The waiter asked if we would like parmesan and we said we would. He then walked to another table, then another and 5 minutes later no return. We saw the host from when you walk in and asked if he would mind getting us some parmesan. He nodded and then proceeded to walk away and another few minutes later we saw him gazing out the window at the front, just standing there doing nothing. There weren't even customers coming in. Anyways, he definitely wasn't coming back either. Finally we were able to wave down another waiter and he kindly got some for us. We were hoping for another drink and desert but my husband decided we would just go, saying he hates giving restaurants like this money. Really for the prices alone you'd expect better service. The tortellini dish was €16 for 8 pieces of tortellini. That's €2 a piece. A bit much for pasta drenched in oil that tastes as if it had a bit of lemon pepper added to it. Pizza was tasty but some pieces had hardly any toppings on them at all. Just spots of tomato sauce. Really disappointing. Especially since it was a special occasion that was suppose to be memorable. Cant believe we even tipped 10%. Should have left nothing. Service really needs to be improved. Not enough hustle or friendless for that matter. Doubt we will be coming back.
Lovely server and staff. Great food.
Delicious food, good service and lovely ambience / view. What’s not to like!
food was excellent- well done service was slow-table wasn't ready for us when we arrived- scheduled for 6- didn't sit until close to 6.30! which was bad, because (a) we had children and (b) to vacate the table at 815 sharp. So we lost half a valuable hour from a 21/4 booking. made a difference.
Friendly front of house staff, buzzy atmosphere
Excellent food and service!
Very good but can improve
Staff always very accommodating and friendly.
