Afternoon tea most definately not value for money.I have had many afternoon teas far superior to this one at The Old Course. I did request no salmon sandwiches by email and they said they would sort this, unfortunately we DID receive salmon sandwiches! Service was good, although i felt the waiter was constantly watching us, which i didnt like. Overall I found it disappointing.
Staff were generally quite rude, we waited 45 minutes before any food was brought out to us and when asked if there was dairy free alternatives for milk (for the vegan afternoon tea we ordered) we were met with dismissal and we’re avoided by the server. I understand people forget but there were only 2 other parties being served at the time.
Excellent afternoon tea. There was a good amount of food and it was delicious. The service was first class and the views were outstanding
We had a wonderful afternoon. The only suggestion I would make is to provide 2 plates and knifes. 1 for the sandwiches and 1 for the cakes. I prefer not to mix my sandwich fillings with cakes. The banana bread was delicious - possibly the best I have tried.
Excellent Afternoon Tea
The room was elegant with amazing chandeliers but the view was breath-taking. Staff were attentive and it was a most enjoyable meal and outstanding value.
This was our 2nd time having afternoon tea at The Old Course. We were upstairs & were lucky enough to be seated at the window overlooking the world famous links. We thoroughly enjoyed our time & our afternoon tea. The staff went above & beyond to look after us & we are so appreciative to them. They truly add to what is a lovely experience. Thank you to all
3 weeks ago I had afternoon tea in the 7 star hotel in Dubai you equalled their service.
We had a lovely Afternoon Tea. Special treat for my birthday with my husband and mum. Would certainly book again. Beautiful view across the golf course towards the sands and sea. Perfect.
lovely afternoon tea in slightly shabby and needing updated conservatory
Great service value for money and ambience
Had an excellent afternoon with my mum.
We had afternoon tea booked for 2pm, when we got there we were told our afternoon tea would be in thr conservatory, we went there and got told to go up to the 4th floor. We went there and were told it was on the ground floor in the conservatory, the waiter behind the bar spoke to the reception and told us to go back downstairs, when we did we were seated in the conservatory but it was already 2:20pm! We were offered complimentary champagne as a goodwill gesture which was lovely of them, the rest of the time was great and the waiter who was on was great with our young son. He was very accommodating and very friendly. I feel a little let down as the expectations of arriving at a 5* hotel such as this you would expect everyone would know what is happening and not be pushed from pillar to post, especially having our little boy who then became restless due to the long time before our afternoon tea came. Over all a lovely spread and our waiter was first class.
Afternoon tea served in the Roadhole Restaurant was lovely. Staff very helpful and happy to swap out sandwiches based on dietary requirements and dislikes. Selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones good value for £20.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly & attentive. Can’t wait to return
This was a fantastic experience for us, we will definitely book again. The waitress we had was first class, I think her name was Kassia, she is a credit to your hotel.
Beautiful afternoon tea , lovely staff, would highly recommend it
Particularly enjoyable on this occasion as we were in the Road Hole Bar at the window so great food, great view.
I was staying at the hotel for a night and the whole experience was amazing! Can’t wait to come for another visit! Thank you!
Polite staff, very accommodating (we had two small children and they brought them cushions to boost them up) beautiful food both presentation and taste, the views were magnificent, the staff were attentive asking if we needed more tea/water the children’s afternoon tea was so well stocked! It was a wonderful time had by all thank you
Staff were very attentive and professional, food was of the highest quality the setting was exceptional. The only minor issues was there was no barcardi in the bar.
From the initial contact to book the afternoon tea to the day itself, the service was excellent. The staff at the hotel made the occasion very relaxed and more memorable. The food was superb and I would recommend anyone visiting St. Andrews must fit in an afternoon tea at The Old Course. Thank you for a lovely day.
We were not in the conservatory for afternoon tea but we had excellent views over the old course from the bar and as it was cold outside the bar was nice and cosy! As far as the afternoon tea is concerned, only one round of sandwiches offered, no second helpings of your favourites, but those that we had were delicious. All food was served at the same time so the scones were cold by the time we ate them but they were nice nonetheless. I’m not sure which house the champagne was from but it was delicious! Overall I would say this is better than the close by Fairmont and would definitely visit again!
The food was lovely and well presented. The view from the Road hole Bar was superb and our waitress, Laura, was excellent.
Delicious champagne afternoon tea. Staff were all welcoming, would certainly return.
