About Oklava Bakery + Wine
Modern Turkish Bakery, Wine Bar and Restaurant
This place is perfect. The most delicious brunch, excellent coffee, lovely wine (because all the best brunches end with a glass of wine).
I had been for dinner at Kyseri before it became Oklava, and was very excited to return. The space is just as beautiful and the service and food was great. We also took some baked products away, the sweeter ones were perfect but the savoury ones didn't quite hit the mark. Despite that, would definitely go back again.
Very good food, and friendly attentive staff! Would highly recommend for both lunch and dinner, and I loved the selection of Turkish and Georgian wines
Definitely order the delicious hellim with honey and the Mucver fritters.
Delicious food and great service!
Lovely food and really enjoyed our Turkish brunch. So much so that we took extra simit to takeaway.
Personal, friendly and efficient service. Food was delicious best pastirma I've tasted, bread reminded me of my Cypriot roots very authentic and flavorsome, enjoyed all the food and portions were very generous.
I love the original oklava and I might love the bakery and wine even more! Great service, excellent food as expected - can we self isolate here?
The food was exquisite and the staff were super friendly , will definitely be going back
Really worth a visit.
Fab and unlike lunch as we know it.
Absolutely delicious food. They need a bigger space - it's all quite cramped, particularly the size of the tables for lots of small dishes to be shared. But that's definitely worth tolerating - the service couldn't be friendlier and more informative; and the food completely delicious.
A lovely dinner where everything was delicious and very well prepared. Service was impeccable too. We especially liked the Oklava Salad, the Muhammad on toast, and the yummy dessert, the name of which we cannot remember, but it was like a pastry with pistachio, cream and blood oranges.
Lovely service and food - excellent bread. Will definitely return to check out evening atmosphere and the wine list.
Incredible service. Very relaxed, friendly, and delicious food. Highly recommend and will be back time and time again.
The food was amazing; we asked for a selection of vegetarian dishes and left the choice to our host. It was absolutely delicious. The service was great, and it was generally a delightful place to visit. Will definitely be back!
Had a great time, thank you
Very welcoming staff that know what they are talking about! The food was amazing... already planning my next visit. Highly recommended.
Austere atmosphere & mediocre food.
Me and my friend weren’t happy with the service as the staff seemed to be unaware of the menu and how it worked, took our order wrong and this reflected on the bill. We were told we can’t order set breakfast to share, then we ordered 2 but received only 1 set of breakfast. On the bill we were charged for things we didn’t order. The blood red orange drinks were tiny for to price, the glass wasn’t even half full. The menemen was a disappointment, I am Turkish and even I had difficulty understanding that what we were served was a menemen. And turkish breakfast with no olives?? the fruits were not fresh. And the turkish coffee was a disaster, way too much coffee was used. I thought the menu had too much of Arabic influences there for didn’t feel Turkish. Only good thing was bal-kaymak and I guess that’s accessible no need to go to a restaurant. Turkish Bakery? but simit is not included in the breakfast. Modernising a cuisine doesn’t mean you should get rid off every main bit. Way over priced, portions are tiny, disappointing.
Very attentive staff, excellent lunch.
Had a lovely weekday lunch here. The quality of the food was excellent and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Am coming back with more colleagues in the coming weeks!
All we ate was delicious. Especially the muhammarah on toast. It was great to be automatically offered 1.5x sized portion of helim as we were a party of 3. Staff were excellent.
Turkish eggs and tea were delicious!:)
Lovely food and lovely staff, but the our first two choices of wine were not available. We were left spending more than £50 on a bottle of wine and we were sat on bar stools - not that comfortable to enjoy a full bottle of wine. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth to pay that, sitting on stools and then be slugged with the 12.5% service charge as well. But I would still recommend for the food and atmosphere!
