Two floors, two paces. The ground floor ‘Gallery’ houses our Mezcaleria bar area and lends itself to lively informal dining, being both relaxed and casual. Upstairs you’ll find the mesmerising ‘Canopy’, with our semi-open kitchen and more traditional, intimate dining.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and welcoming staff.
Lovely evening at ojo rojo - really delicious fresh food and frozen margaritas! I love the food here and it’s well priced
We fell foul of the portions really. The food was fine, we just didn’t look into the menu quite as much as we should have. We didn’t quite realise there wasn’t just tapas size items to order. Our mistake, not the restaurant’s....we should have taken a bit more time to order. Just disappointed by a hefty bill at the end with some hidden prices.
Awesome food and cocktails
Feasting menu was excellent value
Lovely food and service
Second visit within a week so not bad! Food was very tasty, although we did get a second side we had not ordered. I didn't feel comfortable telling the waitress so we did pay for it in the end. Atmosphere wasn't as great this time around but through no fault of the staff - there was a guy in the next table who kept blowing his nose effusively and leaving snotty tissues all over the table and on the food(!) so that really put me off my lunch. We shared a chuffle for dessert and that really excellent.
Really good atmosphere, we were on our own for lunch and staff were all very pleasant. Ordered an off-menu Long Island Iced Tea which was great. I’ll definitely be returning. Thanks! :D
Great food and generous portions. Very nice
Great service, very reasonably priced
Amazing food, great service. A little expensive but certainly get your money’s worth
we had the taster menu between 6 of us and although it was a lot of food it was fantastic, the only reason i give three stars for food was the fact that a couple of requests for drink and i think food were all sold out, like the milky drink my girlfriend had. That aside a fantastic meal and definitely would return.
It was a little disappointing not to be eating upstairs as we had envisaged but once seated we we well looked after by the hard working, attentive staff. The duo providing the music were OK but the sound intruded across our conversation whilst we ate.. The food was good and plentiful. Overall it was good value.
Great night, great food & drinks served with top class service with big smiles all round - we cant wait to come back!
We chose Ono Rojo as our daughter is vegan and it was definitely the right choice. Everything we had - food & drink - was delicious and the service was fabulous. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again next time I am in Bournemouth.
Great independent restaurant in Bournemouth. Social and laid back atmosphere with delicious food and drinks!
Great tacos 🌮 great place. Will be definitely be back soon.
Waiter was so attentive and made us feel very welcome and cared for. Food was so nice and well priced. Thank you!
The food, drink were brilliant but Alex makes that place tick he was incredible the whole night, thank you very much to him and his staff
Great evening lovely food.
Worst food I’ve had out this year.
I've eaten at Ojo Rojo a couple of times before and the food and service has been very good. So I was excited to bring a group of friends with me on Saturday, but sadly our experience fell short of expectations. It took half an hour to receive our first drink; two of the three dishes I wanted weren't available, but the server didn't inform us of this when we were given menus; and we ordered a bottle of pinot griot only to be given a different wine without being informed - turns out it was because they had run out of this too - which actually isn't acceptable. Some improvements to service and availability of dishes are needed; and, whilst the food is good quality and original, it is on the pricey side. I'm hoping Saturday was just a blip, and I will come back- even if only for the cocktails and mezcal which are outstanding.
