Dietary requirements can be catered for, please advise in advance.
Nice atmosphere. Very small portions for what was delivered.
The restaurant is lovely, as is the hotel but the service was poor. We had to ask several times for various things. We felt that when we asked for additional sandwiches for the children, it was not appreciated. We had to ask for additional tea instead of being offered and then very little milk was supplied. This was all served by a lovely lady who seemed to be on her own and often appeared sullen and disorganised (I suspect not her fault as she various tables to look after). At £30 a head this was all disappointing - this was our anniversary treat to be shared with our children at the place where we got married.

The afternoon tea was delicious, particularly the savoury option. I chose the Nutfield Priory mainly for this reason as I’d had it before. The scones were also really lovely, light and so tasty. The service was also very good, we would recommend this place.
Fantastic service, grest food and a perfect experience 5*
Quality of afternoon tea not really up to standard

We had a fantastic time at Nutfield Priory. The food provided at the afternoon tea was lovely and they made sure that they catered for our dietary requirements.
Thank you so much for your kind words and we are thrilled you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
I had dined here previously last year for afternoon tea and I had found the experience much better, along with the food and service. On Saturday 7 of us attended for a birthday celebration for my grandmother and I had booked and suggested this restaurant due to my positive experience of previous. But I must say I found the whole experience underwhelming for such a special occasion. I found the service quite slow and the thing that upset me the most was there was 7 of us with 3 finger sandwiches each between us and when we requested for more sandwiches one plate with 3 finger sandwiches was presented...I then asked for more sandwiches and none was brought out. I feel for the price paid for the afternoon tea and the amount of food provided, if the request is made for more sandwiches this should be happily accommodated however I felt the waitress really did not want to provide anymore food to us- although initially she did explain that we could ask for more of anything. So over all it felt like a very expensive afternoon for very little back in food and service.
I write this review as a repeat customer, who on my last visit had paid the premium of staying in one of your suites. That visit 18 months ago was prestigious, eager to return I saw the opportunity to bring my parents for my father's birthday. I'm really sorry to say but this time the experience was nowhere near my first experience and has left a little your taste in my mouth. Let me help substantiate to help ensure the experience for future customers can be enhanced, so that you can truly leverage repeat customer loyalty. The reception staff on arrival were lovely, credit to your front of house. The lady kindly escorted us to the bar area and introduced us to the barman, advising him we were here for dinner, he simply said "tell them to sit down I'll be over when I'm over" she politely repeated herself and said "no they're here for dinner in there" and pointed at the Cloisters restaurant. His welcome then changed to a more welcoming manner, explaining he would like to bring over some drinks before we are seated...ok fine On being seated in the restaurant we were handled by an Australian lady who I believe was quite new. Her knowledge of the menu was flimsy, her ability to hold order knowledge limited and the finesse in her service was lacking. Drinks orders were repeated extensively, follow up service to see if any wines or drink would like topping up didn't happen. For example, my father and I shared the Chateaubriand, I would have loved to have ordered a bottle of red to accompany this premium dish, have it served and breathing before the main was served, this wasn't an option. As such I ordered a glass of red as it was served, yet by the time the red wine came we had finished the main. This after only one glass of red had been rung through the till, meaning my mum who also ordered had finished her rabbit main before the wine arrived for her too. This may be fine in an average chain restaurant, however quite rightly this is a fine dining establishment, so matters like this should be refined and go hand in hand like salt and pepper. The food was fantastic, complimented by the view from the restaurant, giving you the USP to drive repeat business. However. Service was clunky, heavily prompted, awkward conversations heard from head waitress to other staff and no real anticipation of customer needs. This unfortunately meant the 250 pricetag for the night a little steep. Had the service been on point, we would have enjoyed more drinks, had deserts (meaning the final bill optimum was miased by at least 30%) and looked forward to our next visit. Address the service feedback - train on the anticipation of customer experience and your average spend per customer is likely to increase too. Thanks Andy
A friend recommended you to me. She'd been with a group of friends and had requested a gluten free tea. She was very impressed with what she was given. So, I booked afternoon tea for my friend and myself for her birthday. The building, setting and views were all beautiful. We ate in the Library with only two other couples and we were well spaced out. It was very mellow and comfortable. All the staff we dealt with at Reception and all the waiters were lovely: friendly, welcoming and polite, but with a sense of humour too, which made us feel relaxed. They were on hand if needed, but unobtrusive. The food was delicious. We'd been careful not to eat much beforehand so we were hungry, but we couldn't finish everything. A lovely selection of dainty finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and scrumptious cakes. I would definitely recommend it and would love to do it again - although I'd probably wait for a special offer as it was a little pricey for me.
What a lovely review, thank you so much for sharing your experience. It is always a joy to be able to pass on such feedback to the team as it does mean so much to us all. Please do look out for our Handpicked offers, there is likely to be a 2for1 coming very soon for you to enjoy. Kind regards, Dawn
Excellent evening - taster menu was lovely, well designed and very tasty, great service and fantastic atmosphere. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Beautiful.
Thank you so much for your feedback and we are thrilled you had such an enjoyable evening and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
The two for one tea is good value and the location of the hotel is first class. The finer points of customer service were not evident on this occasion nor have they been on previous visits. We stay at several hotels in the UK for a 2/3 day break and the difference of service between them and Nutfield Priory is marked.
Amazing food, lovely members of staff, and made even better with the atmosphere and view out of the window
Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
We came for afternoon tea for a 70th birthday celebration - 4 adults, 2 teens and 1 child. The service provided by Marc was excellent. Our two teens are quite fussy either sandwiches and so we asked if we could have plain cheese, ham or chicken sandwiches for them. This request was no problem for the kitchen and they made plenty which was much appreciated. Nothing was too much for Marc and the service he gave us was fantastic. It made our afternoon tea that much better. We would all definitely return
Thanks for taking the time to leave your kind comments and I am so pleased that you all enjoyed your afternoon, even the fussy ones! I will be sure to pass on your lovely feedback to Marc and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
My Son & I have stayed here a lot, we have been coming for Christmas for the last three years, today we enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea. What keeps us coming back is the incredible staff that always make us feel so welcome and at home, also the food is incredible and the hotel is just so beautiful.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, it is always a pleasure to see familiar faces again and again. I will be sure to pass on your kind words to the team. Hope to see you again this Christmas! Kind regards, Dawn
Room was a bit dim
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback further to your visit. I was thrilled to see that in the main you enjoyed your visit but am sorry that you found the Cloisters lacking in atmosphere. I do hope we see you again soon, Dawn
Lovely afternoon tea. Great venue and excellent service. Thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words, I will be sure to pass on to the team. Kind regards, Dawn
Lovely afternoon tea with a great view and friendly/attentive staff. Would recommend!
2for1 on afternoon tea made this very good value. The staff were friendly but sometimes we felt forgotten, for example given a second pot of tea each but then no cups arrived. The salmon sandwiches were tasty but the others mediocre. I’d expect cress in the egg sandwich and something to moisten the ham sandwich such as mustard or mayonnaise. The tomato sandwich was hard to eat as the slices of tomato were so chunky. The scones and patisserie however were all delicious, and there was a lovely varied selection. We enjoyed our Mother’s Day celebration.
This is the third time I have visited for afternoon tea and Nutfield Priory never disappoints. The cakes and sandwiches are delicious and I always have to take some home as it’s impossible to eat it all. Service is excellent, staff are attentive and polite. The prosecco and free gift on mother’s day was a great special touch too. I have had cheaper afternoon teas and it is worth the extra few pounds for the quality of good and beautiful surroundings.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted that you always enjoy your time with us and I will be sure to share your kind comments with the team. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Many thanks, Dawn
We had the advantage of an afternoon tea promotion making this an experience we would otherwise have not had. It offered value for money, attentive service & good food quality. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and we are delighted that you enjoyed your afternoon tea, there will surely be another offer coming soon for you to enjoy. Kind regards, Dawn
Beautiful location, good food and we were well looked after.
Many thanks for your review and kind words. I do hope that we will see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
The staff were very attentive to my friend who was celebrating her 96 th birthday. She really enjoyed it.
Thank you for your kind comments about the team. We are thrilled that your 96 year young friend enjoyed her day. Kind regards, Dawn
Excellent Sunday night offer
Thank you for sharing your feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed our Sunday Night Club offer. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
We had a very nice cream tea. My only criticism was that the sandwiches were uninteresting and rather cold from the fridge.
A very pleasant afternoon tea in lovely surroundings.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback and we are thrilled you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Dawn
