About Norfolk Arms Restaurant & Bar
Located in the shadow of Arundel Castle, The Norfolk Arms is anything but old – with its newly refurbished restaurant and bars, offering you a quintessentially wonderful place to eat, drink and stay.
Lovely hotel- cold in room but will hopefully return
We were unable to celebrate St Valentine's Day on 14th so we visited the Norfolk Arms Hotel on Friday 15th instead. The menu was interesting and the package came with a bottle of red/white wine or prossecco. 2 x 3 course dinners for £49. The service was fantastic. Both of the gentlemen who looked after us were very attentive. The food was delightful and very well presented. Everything was piping hot and very enjoyable.
Fantastic food in a lovely setting with great staff. Excellent!
Need a range of cakes not just chocolate things. And maybe the second tier could have savoury bites such as cheese straws etc
Very poor value for money. Weak Tea, weak coffee. Poor choice of cake. Every cake was festive themed. Christmas cake - Christmas mine pies - Christmas stolen!! Scones were too big for the amount of cream provided. We asked for more and got another small pot between 4. The scones were very puddingy with far too much Cinnamon which was overpowering. This was a treat for our son and his wife visiting from Berlin so didn't want to make a fuss. After leaving the hotel we discovered 3 or 4 other delightful little coffee shops where we could have enjoyed afternoon tea at a fraction of the cost. I was emailed twice and rung once to confirm my booking so was assuming it would be busy but we were put into a room all alone so there was NO atmosphere. Complete disappointment and a total waste of money!! £60.00 for 4 people for weak tea and coffee and where 2 out of 4 of us DON'T like Christmas cake etc Will be leaving a review on Trip Advisor I feel so strongly that we were cheated.
I booked an afternoon tea, not a Christmas tea so was disappointed that we did not have cream cakes and normal scones, or at least have a choice
I broke my foot before arriving - and everyone did everything they could to make our stay so accommodating. We were booked on the top floor (my request before the foot issue) - but it was fine. I did the stairs over and over. We cannot say more about the gentleman at front desk (we forgot his name - sorry) He was just so helpful - and was running around the building for everyone - not just us. He was so efficient and went above and beyond for us.
The food was excellent and the service very good.
Booked a package which included a 2 course dinner, but most dishes on the menu were only included in package if you paid a surcharge. This was not clear when booking. Also the main restaurant was used as a thoroughfare by non diners coming off the streets, which spoiled the ambience.
We had a great evening would recommend to friend's and family
Lovely food in a lovely setting with great service.
Lovely afternoon tea, plenty of food and a great selection of cakes. The hotel is great - we had our wedding reception there 12 years ago - it is just a shame to see there are quite a few areas that could do with some TLC, they do let the hotel down. Hopefully the owners will address this soon and bring this hotel back to what it should be
A huge disappointment having to walk through a truly grotty court yard to rech the dinning room & bars . Our meal was excellent staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming . Pricing rediculous , deals , special deals . Right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing . This is down to the management not the staff . Why oh why can’t you do something about the rat trap court yard , not to mention the car park ....it’s awful . Would we come back to Arundel YES would we return to The Norfolk Arms or recommend it NO defiantly not . How silly are you , first impressions count . If we could have found alternative accomerdstion we would have moved on with out a doubt & happily lost money on this weekend away . Sad oh so sad
I dined twice at the Norfolk Arms during my brief stay in Arundel. Both times I was waited on by Steve and Amelia; the meal was excellent and the service impeccable. Steve and Amelia made me feel very welcome; thanks to both for memorable and delicious meals.
Delightful setting to reunite with dear friends. Good service and fine food.
Again another night f great food and wine. Steve was just as attentive as usual.
The food was excellent and well presented. The dining staff were cheerful and polite. Steve in particular was very knowledgeable about the food and drink we had. An all round good experience. Thank you
Really needs canopy or large umbrellas in secret garden and could do with being a bit more floral. We were lucky we had a hot day but as there was no cover, some of the cakes melted. Service good overall Thanks
Was a delightful experience.
Food and service very good - freshly made, well filled sandwiches and warm, nicely presented scones with plentiful jam and cream. Room was dark and lacked atmosphere as there was only one other table occupied. Background music might have helped, as might a table by the window. Cannot comment on value for money as it was a gift, so I have given three stars (cannot submit review with this blank)
