Excellent - will come agian!
The waiter completely spoilt our Christmas Eve dining. He was unfriendly, clearly didn’t want to be at work and it seemed a chore if we requested anything. Our drinks were left on the bar for 10mins & it wasn’t as if he were busy. He served vodka to my 13 year old son & didn’t apologise for doing so! The food arrived cold & again no apology, he decided to give my husband an espresso martini to apologise...my husband doesn’t drink coffee which the waiter didn’t even establish! Waiting staff need more training.....
Gorgeous hotel, excellent service, lovely food and drink!
Service was fab. Especially our lady waiter who was extremely attentive. The food was good but there wasn't a dairy free dessert option despite me having given notice and we didn't get any gravy plus the sides that came with the main weren't dairy free despite the menu saying 'PB' which I assumed meant 'plant based'. My parsnips were a bit hard and underdone too. The canapés were delicious though and the starter was very good. The ambience and decor was perfect, very christmassy but classy.
Christmas lunch was excellent, service was excellent, even under the COVID restrictions they made a great effort! Great day! Many thanks to the staff and compliments to the chef! Lovely day!
It was one the worst experiences we have encountered for a long time. Why go to so much effort with outside dining and decor, then fall very short on service and quality. I find it mind blowing. Outside area was freezing, no service, constantly getting up to find a waiter., no cutlery, cold food, cold coffee. Hopeless. This place has the potential to be the very best but obviously lacks leadership !
We absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere was amazing. The place itself is well decorated and my boyfriend and I were blown away by all the art on the walls. The staff were friendly and efficient. We cannot wait to eat there again.
We came for lunch and drinks on Christmas Eve and although our waiter was pleasant enough there was a 25 minute wait between my Mothers food arriving and my food arriving (by which time she’d finished). She had the tempura prawns, which were lovely but three quarters of them were shell. I had the burger which was so pink I struggled to eat it. However as I had waited so long and asked twice where it was I simply ate it. To pass the time my Mother asked for a cappuccino, which took more than ten minutes to arrive. When it did it was stone cold. She raised this with our waiter who argued it wasn’t and if she drink two thirds of it, she would find the warm part. She refused to do so and requests it be taken from our bill. I was stunned to see 12.5% service charge (outside London). I foolishly did pay it, simply because it was Christmas Eve and I didn’t want to seem like the Grinch, however £6.70 sticks in my throat. Nice atmosphere but 131 is simply a restaurant and is trying really too hard to be something more superior.
We love 131 however your service is way below average.... there always appears a lot of staff on but they aren’t attentive.... table service slow and let’s the offer down... especially when you automatically put service charge on the bill
Great fillet steak
A little disappointed with the experience- had a table booked and was squeezed into a table just about big enough for 4, menu a bit limited, food was cold (staff sorted quickly) bottled cider off (staff sorted quickly & gave another free of charge) service otherwise was really slow, mulled wine sold out on 22nd December so not available (lunch out was for a Christmas treat) & due to wait time for drinks decided to leave and go elsewhere for a coffee. Will return to try again - hopefully in future the experience will be improved
Very very very slow service 30 minute wait per round of drinks. Heavily understaffed
Great food & atmosphere, was just a bit annoying that they couldn’t find our booking and we were accused of coming on the wrong day when we clearly didn’t. Maybe a problem with your booking system?
It always feels like your main objective is to squeeze as much money out of your customers as possible; it takes the pleasure out of what should be an evening to relax and enjoy!!
Absolutely fab, thanks for looking after us so well.
Service was very slow from start to end
What would we do without 131!, it's the best place in town and we really appreciate the time and money spent to ensure it's stayed open during this very difficult time. All those gas heaters must be expensive. Thanks again
Loved the mains and cocktails, tasted incredible. Was a little disappointed with the dessert selection and what we ordered. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Well worth a visit!
Fantastic food Wonderful atmosphere Goegeous venue
Really lovely food and great service. I thought it was actually very good value for money - 3 course with wine, beer and cocktails £75 a head. Definitely recommend!
Slightly overpriced, however a great evening.
Great customer service, and staff are all really friendly. I love the outdoor spaces that you’ve created and I cannot wait to come back! Thank you 😊
The cocktails were delicious and the inside dining room is beautiful. We felt that the meal was expensive for what we ate and would not return solely due to poor value for money. The food was tasty but not worth the cost. The Tavern which is the same owners is one of our favourites and I would recommend there over no 131 .
It’s exceptionally well presented fells almost 100% normal. Well done will be back soon.
