About No.131 The Promenade
Classic on the outside, contemporary British on the inside, located in the heart of Cheltenham. Traditional classics & modern European dishes showcase the best seasonal ingredients in the restaurant. All ingredients are sourced and gathered locally wherever possible but always from British lands and shores.
Super cool hotel with great rooms, staff and food. Would revisit for sure.
Such a shame our experience here was not enjoyable at all. We had to wait ages for our first drink and olives to start. We asked three times to different staff to ask where our drinks are. By which point our meals have arrived, still no drink and then finally the olives show up. For the money you pay at a place like this you do not expect this sort of service and I was extremely disappointed. It felt like we were just being rushed in and out. The manger was understanding, apologetic and discounted 50% off the bill but our experience was ruined from the start unfortunately and we would not choose to eat here again in a rush.
A good welcome and good service. My husband had the full breakfast which was good. My scrambled egg and smoked salmon was poor in comparison. Egg congealed and rubbery and a tiny amount of smoked salmon. I gave this feedback to our server and to be fair she listened and I was not charged for my food. Coffee was good. and we appreciated the complimentary Prosecco. We will give it another try
had to call waiter to point out that there was not the correct amount of food for three afternoon teas. Were given a story that more was coming and there had been a mix up, although when it was first brought out we were not told that more was to come. Had to ask again because it was taking too long to bring the rest of the food, we were then given a different story and tried to say that the correct amount had been served. We had to remind them to give us cutlery and plates to use for scones. The four sandwiches were tiny. Website pictures showed two scones on a plate; there was one each.
The best in the west!
Service was dire. Essentially lack of staff. 45 minutes from seating to getting a bottle of water .
Great location and a fun place. Good service and good food.
Fabulous night, great service, great atmosphere, great food.
Our first visit to 131 and it was clear from early on that there were staffing issues. All the staff on duty were fantastic and tried so hard to keep everyone happy but we still waited for an hour to place our order. When the food arrived it was excellent just need to sort the staffing issue.
Excellent hotel , great service and had a totally amazing stay . Thank you 131 for making 2020 that bit better.
We have been several times to various parts of 131 and unfortunately this will be our last visit. The service was absolutely terrible as we have become accustomed to at this venue. We have returned previously because it is such a beautiful place, with the blind hope that the service would have improved but yet again we were disappointed. We will not be persevering any longer!
A lovely relaxing morning brunch, very friendly staff and service. Definately book again...thankyou
We enjoyed our stay at no131 but we did feel that there could be improvements to the dining/hospitality service. We ate and drank in your bar and restaurant for casual drinks, dinner and breakfast. On every occasion there were times where we were sat waiting around for our order to be taken, or having to go and look for a member of staff to either take our order or settle the bill. We felt that the attentiveness was lacking somewhat, despite it being a quiet Sunday. The food was lovely but we did feel that the vegetarian options were limited.
Was a great experience, the manager went above his way for our anniversary afternoon tea. Thank you! Would have liked to have options for the teas we ordered, rather than just one and just some veggie options! Was a lovely place and lovely service! Would go again!
Without a doubt The best place in Cheltenham! Staff are attentive the location is amazing gin and juice is incredible, the menu could be a little better,!
We were overall happy with our stay, disappointed we were out int he basement with no view only into the bar terrace expected a view after £300 room. Loved the bar and the drinks great atmosphere would like to book again if we could ensure we were in a different room with a view. Also we had plasters stuck over One of our lights that wasn’t very hygienic.
the food and atmosphere was great unfortunately the service wasn't. We had a lovely waitress but she was very young and the food and drink came out at different times and spoilt our celebration. The food was lovely as was the venue.
We all had a fantastic day at 131... from sitting on the terrace for drinks during the day’ to then moving inside for our meal.... first class place & service as always
Lovely afternoon tea, the bread on the sandwiches was slightly dry, lovely scones with lots of jam and cream. A small selection of lovely cakes (there was only one pieces of each cake). Lovely setting, we sat outside on the terrace, service was excellent.
Gin & Juice has a great Relaxing & happy vibe with scrumptious cocktails & adding to that the food @ 131 restaurant, we 🥰love & will definitely be back soon
Fantastic lunch, atmosphere and service! We’ll be back.
Really enjoyed our stay and the cost was well worth it. The gin and rum bars are brilliant and our room was great. The service was friendly and warm throughout. Would definitely stay hear again and for a longer time next time. Only criticisms - we were in room 30 which was quite loud - especially with the noise of people walking above and the bed, which was huge (good thing) didn't have a very comfortable mattress.
We had a lovely evening meal at 131 celebrating my husbands birthday. The food was excellent! The service was also. A fabulous place for a special occasion or intimate dinner. Loved it, will definitely return.
We had a lovely pre-university afternoon tea & what was even better was that our best friend, Misty (15 yr old ex- Military Working Dog), was made to fee very welcome too. So wonderful to sit in the sun making memories.
