Unfortunately one of our starters did not arrive and then arrived very late. Our wine took ages to come and none of what we wanted was available. The lemon sole was very overcooked. Having eaten with you before we were disappointed. The food was average, the service was terrible and therefore we did not get value for money.

Afternoon tea was good, waiter Gabour was lovely. ambience and design, stunning. What lets you down are the toilets and some of your staff need training, they seemed to have forgotten they are at work. My sister complained about toilets, one blocked and one shut off, was received in a rather dismissive way by staff. Toilet rolls and hand towels not replenished, even when two of your female staff were in there having a chat about their plans for the weekend. We bought our Mum for an 80th birthday treat. Which I had mentioned when booking, no acknowledgement at all. We were then put in a corner seat by bar, when the restaurant was empty. We did then move us to a lovely table with views. also as there was a private party, so we were told we couldn't use the upstairs toilet, not the best navigating a spiral staircase with an 80 yr old. It is a lovely place but for what you charge the service should be up to scratch with all your staff.

I came to the restaurant around 3pm on the same day (Saturday) Clearly not dressed to the standard that some of your colleagues approve of) I asked if there were any dinner reservations available to a girl (slim , dark eye make up) and she looked at me in disgust and said no you are fully booked. I then went and looked on the website and there was 5/6 slots available so booked myself a reservation. We came later that evening to the restaurant and bar, Spent over £150 on dinner and was clearly dressed the part. I am actually a blogger and am very disappointed in the attitude of your staff on the door that clearly judge everyone that walks in.

Excellent evening, love the Bar refurb in Gin and Juice, for pre dinner drinks, lovely menu, with attentive service, Beef wellington was superb, Love the atmosphere.

Menu has a good selection and prices are quite high. Drinks were spilt by waiter on serving and again as he attempted to clear up the mess. Food looked generous and appealing but one of our party’s meal had not been noted and she had to ask and then wait a while for hers. Those who ordered risotto found it over salty and one couldn’t finish it - she was not charged for this and staff were apologetic. There was confusion over the coffee and the toilets were not operational. The maitre de was very keen to gain our satisfaction but we did not feel able to leave a full service charge (which had automatically been added to our bill - another kerfuffle to adjust it). Can’t say I felt very comfortable with the whole event.

The staff could not do enough for us. All really approachable and very attentive. Grace and Andy in the hotel were particularly good. The staff in the breakfast room were lovely and our server for dinner on the friday night (a blonde chap) was brilliant. Can't rate this place enough. Defo recommending to everyone we know .

Had a very enjoyable lunch with my husband and daughter on a horrid cold and wet April day. The fire was lit and the welcome was warm and friendly. Rebecca was efficient, friendly and we had some good banter! I liked the fact that diners were dotted around the various dining rooms and not all in the same place. It made for a very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere. Our meal was delicious though rather expensive. Loved the style of the place and will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff.

Ummmmmm okay being honest I’ve eaten at the 131 around 6 times now and been very impressed. Thought I would treat her and my daughter on mother’s day. We arrived and had to wait 5 mins for our booked table to be found. We were seat straight away and ordered within 10 mins. The drinks were delivered to the table and the female that delivered the drinks virtually threw the glass and bottle onto the trailer as if she didn’t want to be at work ( McDonald’s have a higher standard of service than she does ). Sat waiting for the food to be served and when it finally arrived my mussels were stone cold including the cooked sauce. Then my wife found her poached egg was hard boiled. We pointed the issues out to your staff and they were very apologetic, the food and cutlery was taken away to be redone. Within 5 mins the food was reserved and the staff left to carry on with our meals, only problem to this was there was no cutlery. I tried to get the attention of one member of staff but he was too busy speaking to a young couple that he had been talking to for almost a third of the time that we had been there ( I always understood that work first chats comes second ). Then a female member of staff looked me straight in the face as I asked her to come over and she just walked off. Finally I caught the eye off the female behind the bar indicated that we required cutlery and she shrugged her shoulders and pointed to two female serving staff who were 3 feet from her as if It was for us to get up and go and see them. The cutlery finally arrived but by that time things had started to cool. By this time I had got thoroughly annoyed and just wanted to leave as it was a thoroughly spoilt afternoon. We were offered a reduction to the bill but on recollection I think I would like to pay the difference so it go towards some members of staff being trained to the high standards Julian expects them to deliver. It’s a shame bar nibbles or light meals aren’t served outside. Very pleasant and unpretentious place yet with a touch of elegance. Accommodating staff.

We ended up walking out the restaurant as despite coming to the table 4 times, not once were we asked what we wanted to drink. Also the menu available for that time of day was awful. When we returned later for cocktails, they were only half full glasses yet we were charged the full amount, felt like we were being ripped off.

Well never ever again. I booked a table for friends who were visiting from London and it was an absolute s**t show. No one to take an order. Seats all ripped and tatty (covered with itchy blankets). Drinks actually never arrived. No one told us what was missing from the already limited lunch menu. People complaining everywhere. Do not go.

The food was poor in comparison to the price paid. The scallops were dry, the topping was a dry mess. Our steaks were also a chewy mess. The ribeye in Cote two days earlier was far nicer. If 131 etc is living on the back of its owner, then the food quality needs to drastically improve. The £100 we spent on 2 courses without alcohol was not worth the money. I probably will not return to eat.

Disappointing. Entered building to book in for reservation , spoke to a lady in a “booth” she wasn’t welcoming , took us to a table reluctantly offered us another one , then left . We waited for quite a while before being attended to following this , we considering walking out but fortunately a waiter did arrive . I ordered a white wine with soda and my husband ordered a beer . My glass of wine was inked on table , no soda and no beer! I asked waiter On her return from another table about soda water she did not look happy .i ended up with 2 soda’s after this and my husband finally got his beer . Sunday lunch was nice ,we were not offered any condiments and I didn’t receive bread sauce . We did stay for dessert and a coffee , coffee arrived a while before dessert ? I don’t think st any stage we were asked if we needed anything and if everything ok . My husband was not asked how he wanted his beef cooked . The reason we were out 17th March was so that I could mark St Patrick’s day . We live locally but I’m not sure I will want to return , I expected more , hence “ disappointing “ . I have contributed to Trip Advisor , I felt quite strongly that for the price paid the service did not match ☹️

Dined in The Study private room. Had a great time, service was a bit "Fawlty Towers" but I'll forgive that as it was post Cheltenham Raceweek and the team were great.

Lunch was lovely, however we also went to the Gin and Juice for breakfast, which was a disaster. We ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and toast with preserve. Firstly it took three attempts before anybody understood what an egg and bacon sandwich was. We also ordered ‘freshly squeezed’ OJ, which came out of a carton! When my toast arrived it was one piece of bread, without butter or preserve. I tried to send it back but the gentleman didn’t understand what I was saying. When he eventually took it back he returned with the same piece of bread (now cold) with a dollop of jam on it! I found somebody else to complain too and she explained the order had been put through incorrectly. I eventually received my toast which was okay. When I paid (12.5% service?!?) I was told it wasn’t your policy to provide a receipt so couldn’t have one!! A disaster from beginning to end and I’m afraid to say I won’t be returning for breakfast.
