An excellent night. Very friendly and efficient staff.
Been here many many times. Lovely place, good choice of food - amazing steak! Highly recommended
We had lovely afternoon tea, which included way more food than we could eat, home made sweet treats, scones with lots of yummy cream and jam, lovely sandwiches and wraps etc. I would totally recommend visiting here particularly for afternoon tea. Thank you for the excellent experience Nine Jars, we will be returning.
We came to eat for a special day and decided to try your restaurant for the first time . However we do wish we had gone somewhere else from our experience of service . The food was nice bit not.oit of this world and the starters and desserts I found overpriced at £7 for what they were . When we first walked in we realised it was very quiet , only one other table in there who had a very loud member with them who spoilt the nice atmosphere in there really but that can't be helped I know. We had a pram with us and got shown to our table (which was very sticky and hadn't been cleaned ) which we then had to move ourself to got the pram next to it while the waitress stood there and watched us . After a few minutes we got our menus , we then waited a further 10 minutes for her to come back for our drinks order which by then we knew everything we wanted so ordered it all together. The drinks.then took another 15 minutes to arrive which were just a bottle if wine and a cold jug of water and we received 2 glasses of warm water when had asked for a jug and for it.to be cold ... the starters then arrived shortly after which the steak taccos were very nice . The waitress never came to check if it was ok and came to clear our plates while I was still eating and took them saying our steaks were ready to come straight out so i let her take my plate even though i hadnt finished. we then waited 20 minutes for our steaks . The meat was delicious which I of course expected as it was from the local butchers I believe to be very good . The chips were very salty but onion rings were very nice . Again we were not checked on to see if it was all ok for us. We then ordered desserts as there was a malteaser and white chocolate Sunday my.husband liked the sound of so he ordered that ... when it came it looked very nice however it only had 1 malteaser and a piece of white chocolate then the rest was some chocolate sauce and ice cream and whipped cream with a flake stuck in the top . The food was nice what we had but it was certainly not worth a £60 Bill which we could have spent at anther restaurant with very good service we thought to book in the first place but didn't as we wanted to try something new and different .
Excellent all round, lovely food, fab cocktails
Very good service and meal
Lovely steaks, well cooked and presented, a little disappointed that it was a quiet evening and had run out of skinny fries and my daughter doesn’t like the chunky chips.
And the only reason the atmosphere score is low is because it was a very quiet Monday evening. The waitress was excellent, coping with the late arrival of the chef with skill and humour, and making us feel very welcome and well looked after. The food was tasty and well presented. Very sad that we had no room for dessert! Would definitely come again. Thank you.
My favourite place to go!
Service was very good and very friendly the food and cocktails was very good will definitely be going back again soon
Was surprised to find it so empty on a Saturday night. Hadn't been for a while and found the menu had changed and was now predominantly burgers and steak, not much choice for the main meal other than that unfortunately. Thought would try a steak, sad to say it was just full of gristle and not very pleasant at all, spent most of the meal having to discretely remove these pieces from my mouth. The small amount of salad was however quite nice. For the money charged I really wouldn't have expected such a poor steak. I don't think we will be returning for a while as we was expecting something special for the money we paid. Service was good though.
Food was good but very difficult to talk when there was a big noisy group of young women nearby. This had been preceded by a screaming baby, whose mother did not seem to realise might just not be what diners want. However, this was not the fault of the Nine Jars itself.
I had a disappointing experience at Nine Jars, the second time in a row! Although the food and drink is lovely, the service was not good. It took nearly half an hour for beer to come to the table, and although we booked a table for 19:30, we did not get served until about 21:00. This is the second time in a row that we have been to Nine Jars and had particularly poor service; I hope that this improves as we like to support local businesses.
We had a lovely meal here for my birthday. It was lovely and cool, yummy food and cocktails
Amazing! They were so lovely, kind and attentive! Couldn’t of asked for a better way to start of a hen Do then with 2 for one cocktails in a pretty lounge! Thank you to everybody who helped
Came for Fathers Day lunch. Good menu choices and a free glass of wine or beer for Fathers ( so my husband was pleased!!!) . Food took a little while to come & then my roast was the last out- over 5 mins after the other meals, so they had to start eating theirs before me. All our meals were very fresh and enjoyable. The waitresses who served us were friendly and chatty. We weren't told that the card machine wasn't portable, so sat at our table for a while waiting to pay. The manageress took us over to the desk to pay; but moved on to chat to arriving customers before I had finished paying and then walked off with them. Not even a goodbye or thank you! Shame to let the place down at the final hurdle, but the rest of our experience was lovely.
Best meal we’ve had at Nine Jars so far. Food was great, particularly halloumi fries! Great menu. Staff very helpful and friendly
Lovely Sunday meal
Overall the experience was great , we booked for our wedding 27th anniversary so we could enjoy a meal and a drink and then walk home ! The food was on the whole great , steak my husband had was cooked to perfection . The only issue was that the salt and pepper beef rib was 60% fat which was such a shame as the taste was amazing. I did mention it to the young waitress who cleared our plates ( she said that i shouldn’t have been scrounging around to find the meat 😜 which was exactly how it was ). We did a indulge in the mini donut sharing dessert which was a great end to the meal. The hostess was professional and attentive and I notice that she spoke to all the tables to check all were happy . Friendly service and will definitely be back but will try a different main course next time .
A lovely evening with great food.
The food was tasty, as were the cocktails. However, our calamari was rubbery, and the scallops were cold. The desserts were delicious. We were happy with the overall experience. The service was very good.
Great food, massive portions, friendly polite and great fun staff
Fabulous meal lovely staff...lovely evening. Thank you
