Friendly staff. Felt very relaxed. Good food.
Lovely food and the staff friendly and very polite. First class service.
just went to celebrate my birthday with family and friends the atmosphere was relaxing, staff were polite. Food was as goo d as we expected it to be.
Jasmine our waitress was fantastic!
Maybe some background music.
Extremely dissatisfied. First visit was awful. We were greater with the statement “you didn’t want roast did you because we have run out!” There was no atmosphere, very few customers. A couple before us left dissatisfied. The only other customers were staff of their friends. Staff conversations were more important and loud. We hope for a goid deal using the Meekat offer but staff didn’t understand it and we felt that for what we had the quality was poor. We ate at Prezzo recently all four of us has three nice courses and it only cost £39 with the Meerkat offer. Thus busy cost more than that we shared starters only had two milkshakes, one main each and no dessert. We also all felt quite ill during the following night which seemed to be from the excess salt and grease in our meals! We had nothing positive to say and couldn’t wait to leave. The staff would have not care if we liked it or not. t spoiled a treat for our children on a Sunday.
Hi Dawn, so sorry to hear this. I have always been proud of the service we give our guests here at Nine Jars, so find this totally unacceptable. I have picked this up with the entire team working that day and can assure you that this is not usual. We often have fantastic reviews on both our service and food. Unfortunately we do sometimes run out of the Sunday roast if we have a particularly busy day, however, if you do choose to return I would recommend calling before hand just to check we still have some left. Again, I am really sorry you did not receive a fantastic service and hope you do choose to give us another go. Kind regards, James | Manager
A Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, Would definitely reccommend a visit.
Waitress was rushed off her feet as she was the only waitress on that night but just carried on smiling
Had fantastic service from Poppy & another lady (sorry don't know her name) nothing was too much trouble. My mum had a lovely birthday meal.
Lots of shell fragments mixed with the mussels made them very unpleasant to eat. Commented on this to the staff who agreed!
Was looking forward to an evening here again as my 1st experience was great from food drinks and service. Unfortunately my second visit and I was disappointed, It’s a shame the comfy sofas and chairs have been replaced by more dining tables instead. Service was good until we had finished our main, pasta was lovely but the risotto was bit dry, then we asked if there was a cheeseboard on dessert menu and was told no ( which is fine) but told kitchen was closed so no desserts.!!! We were not even asked if we wanted dessert.!!! Think that really needs to be looked into. Therefore we didn’t continue to order more drinks and chose to go elsewhere to get drinks and possibly a desert. Such a shame.
Such a lovely place to eat and have a drink. Will definitely be going back.
An excellent night. Very friendly and efficient staff.
Been here many many times. Lovely place, good choice of food - amazing steak! Highly recommended
We had lovely afternoon tea, which included way more food than we could eat, home made sweet treats, scones with lots of yummy cream and jam, lovely sandwiches and wraps etc. I would totally recommend visiting here particularly for afternoon tea. Thank you for the excellent experience Nine Jars, we will be returning.
We came to eat for a special day and decided to try your restaurant for the first time . However we do wish we had gone somewhere else from our experience of service . The food was nice bit not.oit of this world and the starters and desserts I found overpriced at £7 for what they were . When we first walked in we realised it was very quiet , only one other table in there who had a very loud member with them who spoilt the nice atmosphere in there really but that can't be helped I know. We had a pram with us and got shown to our table (which was very sticky and hadn't been cleaned ) which we then had to move ourself to got the pram next to it while the waitress stood there and watched us . After a few minutes we got our menus , we then waited a further 10 minutes for her to come back for our drinks order which by then we knew everything we wanted so ordered it all together. The drinks.then took another 15 minutes to arrive which were just a bottle if wine and a cold jug of water and we received 2 glasses of warm water when had asked for a jug and for it.to be cold ... the starters then arrived shortly after which the steak taccos were very nice . The waitress never came to check if it was ok and came to clear our plates while I was still eating and took them saying our steaks were ready to come straight out so i let her take my plate even though i hadnt finished. we then waited 20 minutes for our steaks . The meat was delicious which I of course expected as it was from the local butchers I believe to be very good . The chips were very salty but onion rings were very nice . Again we were not checked on to see if it was all ok for us. We then ordered desserts as there was a malteaser and white chocolate Sunday my.husband liked the sound of so he ordered that ... when it came it looked very nice however it only had 1 malteaser and a piece of white chocolate then the rest was some chocolate sauce and ice cream and whipped cream with a flake stuck in the top . The food was nice what we had but it was certainly not worth a £60 Bill which we could have spent at anther restaurant with very good service we thought to book in the first place but didn't as we wanted to try something new and different .
Excellent all round, lovely food, fab cocktails
Very good service and meal
Lovely steaks, well cooked and presented, a little disappointed that it was a quiet evening and had run out of skinny fries and my daughter doesn’t like the chunky chips.
And the only reason the atmosphere score is low is because it was a very quiet Monday evening. The waitress was excellent, coping with the late arrival of the chef with skill and humour, and making us feel very welcome and well looked after. The food was tasty and well presented. Very sad that we had no room for dessert! Would definitely come again. Thank you.
My favourite place to go!
Service was very good and very friendly the food and cocktails was very good will definitely be going back again soon
Was surprised to find it so empty on a Saturday night. Hadn't been for a while and found the menu had changed and was now predominantly burgers and steak, not much choice for the main meal other than that unfortunately. Thought would try a steak, sad to say it was just full of gristle and not very pleasant at all, spent most of the meal having to discretely remove these pieces from my mouth. The small amount of salad was however quite nice. For the money charged I really wouldn't have expected such a poor steak. I don't think we will be returning for a while as we was expecting something special for the money we paid. Service was good though.
