About New Yard Restaurant
Hidden restaurant in the grounds of the historic Trelowarren Estate on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall.
We want to take the way a restaurant runs itself back to times where the produce available in the local area determined the menu that was offered. Our food champions local producers which we believe to be the best in the country and will continue to support our local producers.
Really enjoyed the food and the service. The only thing missing was a few extra veggies in the main course but this is a real nitpick. Friendly service and high quality food. What not to like?
We had the tasting menu - absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. A real treat.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Sharing the starters between us all was novel and eye opening as if we had chosen our own we would not have had the delight of tasting them all, which were all superb. The roast beef had a barbecued outer taste which complemented the superbly cooked rare beef. Personally I would have liked the horseradish stronger. I am lookIng forward to tasting your other menu’s
Everything was brilliant. The staff who were looking after us were brilliant.
Myself and hubby both really enjoyed our meal, the set menu was varied and tasty and we agreed it was good value for money. The young man serving us was so nice and the whole experience was just lovely. You would never know it was there, a real hidden gem. We ll be back again :)
Great food and stunning location. Highly recommendable.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting - what more could anyone ask for!
Overall a very pleasant experience.
Absolutely fabulous Takes a bit of finding but well worth the effort!
Fantastic food, the taster menu was well balanced , and service excellent Another enjoyable evening
Great food, great staff and around great restaurant
Absolutely first class food, friendly, informal service and decent wines (though a small list). A hidden gem
Fabulous food, excellent service and a fantastic location. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The best lamb we have ever tasted. Lovely spring menu and the flower arrangements complimented the theme beautifully. A most enjoyable Birthday evening !
Once again a fabulous lunch, and beautifully presented. Service was first class, looking forward to returning.
Wow wow and wow!!!! Just love this place! My guests and I were all amazed at the food and everything about the restaurant.. thanks ❤️
Delightful evening as ever. The service was perfect, friendly and timely. We loved the Rhubarb and fennel fizz cocktail.
Fabulous as always xx
Great Sunday lunch, couldn't fault it!
This was our second visit while in Cornwall this trip. Four of us enjoyed a brilliant New Year's Day brunch. The battered hake was simply amazing--melted in the mouth--and I was told the kedgeree was equally tasty! The chef is so imaginative, but never 'fiddly'. Excellent quality. Charlie, our waiter, could not have been nicer our more accommodating.
Fantastic food. Best of the year!
Best Sunday lunch we as a family have eaten for some years. Each element was thought through carefully and without fault. The caramac custard was genius!
The New Yard staff have worked hard to achieve the high regard they so rightly deserve. The setting is relaxed and calm. The food is absolutely superb. The menu is on the small side--always a good sign--and obvious care is taken with each dish, and individual needs catered for. Service can be slow when they're crowded because of this, but there are few nicer places to wait! The waiters are genuinely friendly, caring and attentive. I am happy to give New Yard absolutely top marks.
Lovely as ever
We stayed at Primrose for a week over Christmas and ate on two evenings in the restaurant. Both meals were excellent and as good if not better than meals eaten here over the many years we have visited Trelowarren. Look forward to our next visit in May.
