About Newbridge on Usk
Occupying an idyllic location on the banks of the River Usk, this charming 200-year-old country inn is a secret hideaway, just a few miles upriver from the Resort itself.
Reflecting the setting, the delicious seasonal menu of wholesome country fare is lovingly cooked using fresh, local, and homegrown produce.
Guests also have the opportunity to fish for salmon, brown trout and sea trout on the nearby River Usk. Synonymous with some of the best salmon and brown trout fishing outside of Scotland, our experienced Ghillie is able to guide you in the skills required to fish this dramatic tidal river.
The season runs every year from March to October, call 01633 410262 for details.
We had a lovely meal and particularly enjoyed the fantastic fish platter starter.
Service was brilliant and the food was amazing.
A gorgeous meal in a stunning setting. Food was delicious.
Beautiful delicious nicely presented food . Thank you
Waiter could have been a bit more attentive !
One of the best restaurants ever! Superb food ,couldn’t fault a thing and great staff. We have already recommended it to others and will definitely be returning ourselves.
Quality food was excellent. Good friendly service.
Six of us arrived for lunch last Friday to celebrate my wife's special birthday and we all thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. As always, the service was exceptional, the food was excellent and the surroundings superb. My only "gripe" is that this is the only British pub I know that doesn't have any British ale on draught, and no; it doesn't taste as good out of a bottle (too fizzy)! That said, this was the third visit in recent weeks for my wife and me and we shall keep coming back!
Attentive service in comfortable surroundings
First impressions weren’t great. Went to sit down at our table and the chair broke underneath me. Me and my partner went to the bathroom after the chair break incident instead of standing there waiting for the waiter to bring a chair. The first impressions were so bad, so much so, our waitress and the manager thought we had left. If I had fallen, a serious injury could’ve taken place. Please get back to me. Thanks
Excellent service followed by lovely meal and accommodation at Newbridge on Usk. Able to use Dylan’s pool for excellent swim when main pool unavailable.
Lovely restaurant set on the banks of the river Usk. Beautiful interior which is warm and welcoming. Staff are very friendly yet professional. We came for an early dinner, as we had our 6 year old with us, and thoroughly enjoyed the food... And drinks. Well worth a visit if in the area or staying at the Celtic manor.
Excellent service & steaks were faultless ! We will return very soon ....
Rhubarb Eton Mess was divine. Rounded off a fantastic meal. Waiters are friendly and attentive too. All round wonderful experience and highly recommended
Meal was fantastic-but `no meet and greet` person or front of house? But Ben (at the bar) saved the day-very friendly & professional- and quickly `put us at ease`plus; he got us a lovely table overlooking the river-just couldnt be better! Thanks Ben- you`re a star! (and the jazz was great also!)
Dinner was superb. Loved the pheasant and the lentils moistened what can be a dry meat beautifully. Inspired combinatoi
Lovely Restaurant in a beautiful setting and good service, however the menu was a bit limited. The beef was excellent but the pork not so good. 3 out of 4 of us had pork and it was a huge chunk, very hard to cut and much too tough. Also the trifle was very strange - trying to be different but it did not work. My chocolate delice was nice but needed more ice cream - tiny scoop - not enough with such a dry and rich dessert. Overall very disappointed!
Beautiful restaurant, quality food and the staff and service was excellent! Will definitely return
First time we have visited Newbridge on Usk, venue lovely, staff so accommodating and welcoming, food great. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back in the warmer weather to experience sitting by the river and once again enjoy the lovely food and atmosphere.
Best sirloin steak I can remember and all food and service was outstanding.
Beautiful setting, hotel full of olde world charm, lovely atmosphere and staff extremely pleasant and helpful, lovely meal enjoyed by us all.
The food was delicious, service impeccable. Great choice for a set lunch menu
Charming location - very idyllic. Relaxing atmosphere. Service was polite and friendly and efficient (it was a treat for us as a Welsh speaking family to have a waitress that spoke Welsh - something which is glaringly lacking at Celtic Manor) Food was 'nice' - but underwhelming on the whole and a bit disappointing considering that it has two rosettes. Starter of parfait was lovely as were sweetbreads. Main courses were lacking in flavour although presentation was beautiful. Would we go back again? Maybe but not soon.
