About Newbridge on Usk
Occupying an idyllic location on the banks of the River Usk, this charming 200-year-old country inn is a secret hideaway, just a few miles upriver from the Resort itself.
Reflecting the setting, the delicious seasonal menu of wholesome country fare is lovingly cooked using fresh, local, and homegrown produce.
Guests also have the opportunity to fish for salmon, brown trout and sea trout on the nearby River Usk. Synonymous with some of the best salmon and brown trout fishing outside of Scotland, our experienced Ghillie is able to guide you in the skills required to fish this dramatic tidal river.
The season runs every year from March to October, call 01633 410262 for details.
Service was exceptional. Location perfect. Food was of a very high quality. Great experience
A super Sunday lunch!!
Staff were fabulous, especially our server who had a very good sense of humour. The food is exceptional, absolutely delicious. Beautiful setting even in the evening. Loved the fact that free transport provided by the hotel so no need to worry about drinking and driving, ingenious !
The venue was superb and the service was outstanding especially at the end when the staff had written on a plate happy birthday and some turkish delight, it was a lovely touch.
Service was impeccable, portions were generous, staff were helpful and attentive without being overbearing, and most importantly, food was amazing!
Staff excellent as expected. Please can you pass our compliment and praise to the waitress , Cariad. The only fault to evening was having to leave. Many thanks. Simon T
A lovely evening your ladies...the staff, looked after us to the highest standards. Friendly caring and chatty ...we liked that. The lamb rump was exceptional so were the vegetables. We look forward to dining again on th 20th this month. My sister enthused over the Merlot...it will be requested at the next visit.
It was the ideal place to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary.
This restaurant is perfect for a quiet meal. The food was delicious and in small portions full of flavours and innovation, served in perfect intervals. The staff were efficient and attentive. We loved it.
Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly made hubby’s birthday special would definitely recommend Thanku to the staff for a lovely evening
Will certainly be returning!
An excellent Sunday Lunch - a pleasure to return here
Firstly the food was incredible. Every single dish we had tasted delicious ! The atmosphere was cosy with a beautiful view to the river and the service was top notch. If only it was closer to home (London), we'd be going there all the time ;)
Location certainly makes this establishment. Stunning location. Service was very good. Dinner was nowhere near worth the money. Cod main course was lovely. Didn't have desert. Breakfast was well well nice.
Quick and friendly service, beautiful food, really nice, relaxed atmosphere
The restaurant was very nicely decorated but as it was extremely quiet on the evening we visited the atmosphere was a bit too quiet. The waiter was welcoming and continually checked our drinks were topped up. The food was very nice and presentation was good. The shuttle bus to and from the restaurant is a very nice touch.
Wonderful experience definitely going back.
Have now eaten at the Newbridge twice and it really does it disappoint. Food and service are amazing
Waiter not very knowledgeable about mains. Overcharged on service charge when on DBB rate. Transport nightmare getting back to hotel. Had to ask twice for bread. Too long from leaving hotel to getting back 3 hours !!!!
Everything was lovely
We loved every moment of time there...good food, friendly staff and beautiful location
The dining room was a little chilly and this was further exacerbated by waiting staff opening fire exit to allow recently arrived diners to exit for smoking purposes and left door ajar. They should of asked them to exit and enter by main doors. The fire should of been lit. I felt cold throughout the meal and I’m not an old person. Jazz band was a great idea and was a nice touch. The soup first course on the Sunday lunch menu was too big a bowl. The crumble on the desert with the lemon posset was like rock. I think the beef roast dinner lacked flavour and couldn’t taste any flavour in veg. Hard roast potatoes which had dried out because I suspect they had been hanging around for a few hours before plating. Asked for the bill and there was a 10 minute wait before I had to ask again for it. I have been to many establishments and I felt this was on the whole disappointing.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good choice of food and attentive service. Highly recommend.
Steak was dry and over cooked to what i asked for amd did not get a lot for the price. Food did taste nice but steak could of and should have been more succulent. Felt like we were paying more for the location and staff than the food
Very nice welcome, good service When in lounge area nice to see personal touches when guests checking in
