About Newbridge on Usk
Occupying an idyllic location on the banks of the River Usk, this charming 200-year-old country inn is a secret hideaway, just a few miles upriver from the Resort itself.
Reflecting the setting, the delicious seasonal menu of wholesome country fare is lovingly cooked using fresh, local, and homegrown produce.
Guests also have the opportunity to fish for salmon, brown trout and sea trout on the nearby River Usk. Synonymous with some of the best salmon and brown trout fishing outside of Scotland, our experienced Ghillie is able to guide you in the skills required to fish this dramatic tidal river.
The season runs every year from March to October, call 01633 410262 for details.
Food was very good and well presented.
We dined as part of the Celtic overnight food package, we have done this several times and each time we have had a lovely visit at the Newbridge. Relaxed atmosphere, great food, good staff.
Consistently good and the staff are very professional.
Excellent food & service
The food, restaurant and staff were amazing. Everything prepared and served to perfection. A really enjoyable evening. We stayed overnight. Although the room was clearly very clean, there was a musty odour . I believe it was to do with the rooms having poor ventilation other than anything else. Overall, a lovely dining experience and we will return.
What can I say, it's my favourite place.
Excellent service and food was delicious
Lovely setting, superb food and wine. As part of a spa package, I felt it was excellent value for money too.
Lovely atmosphere and food. Service was very slow. Long wait in between courses.
Lovely relaxed location and atmosphere from the staff. Felt truly looked after and the food is as good as it sounds and looks fantastic. Highly recommend and will be back!
It was a very pleasurable experience enjoyed by all
It was a special occasion for my last visit to the Newbridge, my wife and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary. It was a trip down memory lane as it was the venue for our wedding reception. The staff understood this from the booking that I made and were very helpful and attentive throughout our visit. I would like to pass on our wholehearted thanks to all the staff that were there on this occasion. A visit to remember!
No draft beer, extra charges for items without being told. Expensive compared to others in area
The whole experience was wonderful. The actual building needs a little TLC but that did not affect the evening in any way.
Setting, food and service all perfect and combine to ensure a first class dining experience. Thank you to the Newbridge team once again!
Enjoyed the meal very much and the view from the window was very nice.
Lovely Sunday lunch in beautiful surroundings. Attentive staff. Very nice food. Perfect afternoon
I think the customer should be able to use the discretion about a tip rather than having to pay a service charge.
Very disappointing meal - limited menu, below average quality and therefore overpriced. Previous experience of Sunday lunch so good we decided to go for dinner with visiting friends. It was a particularly special occasion and so very disappointed with the standard and definitely way below all our expectations.
Fantastic food and very friendly staff who were incredibly welcoming despite the fact we brought two seven-month old babies!
Lovely location and atmosphere, and of course excellent professional service (Can tell it is part of the Celtic Manor Resort). We normally stay and eat in the main resort but it was lovely to try here.
The food was superb. The best lamb I have ever tasted. The staff were brilliant and so welcoming. Was delighted with the whole experience. Will definitely be coming to stay again. Preferred it to main Celtic Manor resort.
The food was a little above average but nothing special. The service was not experienced and in keeping with a reaturant. The whole essence is to be made to feel valued and we weren't.
As a massive foodie and a head chef my self of a fine dinning restaurant. We thought the food was really great couldn’t fault the food expectantly the cod and asparagus witch I thought was amazing and the young waiter that served us on the 8-8-18 (reservation under the name king @ 8pm) was very friendly and profecinal and as a young waiter learning the trade I couldn’t fault him so please tell him from me to keep up the good work. Even though the food coming out the kitchen, some might say was a littel slow.( and iv read a few reviews saying it was slow) all I would say is “what’s the rush, enjoy your evening” if you want fast food go Burger King. I thought it was perfect. we were in no rush and it gave us time to enjoy our evening as it was a speacail night for us. So to sum up keep up the good work everyone it was a great night and would recommend to everyone 5 starts from me 👍🏻
The food was disappointing although the manager Pavel was extremely helpful and accommodating. However the serving staff member Richard was at times sarcastic and did not have a good attitude especially for a birthday n private dining celebration costing over £900.
