Nanam Eatery opened at 126 Symonds Street, Royal Oak in March 2015. Owners Chef Andrew James Soriano with partner, Chef Jessabel Granada started their venture selling “Taco Pao” (taco siopao) with pork cooked in humba sauce in a four sqm food stall in Auckland night markets.
This started Nanam’s humble beginnings with Chefs Andrew and Jessa exploring Filipino cuisine with the help of Andrew’s brother, Ryan Soriano, a young aspiring chef. Since then, Nanam has been offering quality, unique and modern interpretation of Filipino traditional cuisine as it continues to tread through previously uncharted kitchen territory.
Terrific service and quality of food. Very attentive and accommodating. Surprised my mother (and me) with a happy birthday desert. Great food people and service. Thanks.
Great food and vibes. Perfect location with plenty of parking around the area. Top off the visit with a stroll down to the beach. No need for “getting an ice cream” because of course you’ve already finished your halo halo and nothing will top that!
was delicious !
It was my 40th birthday, and I had an excellent time. We had 50+ people turn up, some vegetarian, vegan, Gluten-free and Dairy-Free! All dietary requirements were catered for. The food was divine, the service very professional and attentive. I've been going to Nanam for awhile now, and often. I can't recommend it enough!
Service slow so if going for bottomless brunch with cocktails make sure you get you wait staff on to it. Food came out sporadically and it meant we were eating at different times. The cocktails were very weak and tasted like lollie water. I like the food but the rest was average at best
Fantastic food and place. Recommending to everyone I know
I went to the royal oak restaurant with my head chef, Chino Salazaro. And I knew you guys moved to Taka, so I needed to go again. Salamat
It was our first time in your Takanini resto, we’ve tried Royal Oaks a couple of times. The food has remained as good as ever, and that Ovaltine dessert was yum! Special commendation to our server Don who meticulously looked after our group’s needs. He was attentive with just the right amount of chattiness. And galing mo kabayan! Mabuhay ka! We are definitely coming back for more. Blessings.
Food was superb!
Great food but let down by not having enough wait staff on meaning long waits for service. We ended up leaving early without dessert or coffees as we couldn’t be bothered waiting any longer for someone to bring us a dessert menu.
Chicken was nice. Other flavours just didn’t go. Waitress brought our sides after we finished mains. Dessert waitress knew nothing about the desserts and walked off without offering us any alternatives. We won’t be back sorry.
The food was beautiful, the service was great and even though they were busy the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. I wish we had more time then. Staff are polite and kind. Kudos to the desserts! Best turon in town!
What a stunning restaurant to have in Takapuna. Beautifully crafted dishes, with so much flavour that also look stunning on the plate. We will definitely be back.
Hi, thanks for accommodating me and my friends earlier. We loved the vibe, music, and ambiance. We actually felt like we are on a holiday, like somewhere in Fiji / Philippines / by the beach. I think the brunch menu is good but can be better. Make it a little closer to the style of your ala carte menu? (I’m saying this as I’ve tried your ala carte menu before). Overall, we had a good experience. Good food, amazing vibe and ambiance. Thank you so much.
We've had ordered 58.00 set menu for 8 people. Lemon grass dressing on both beef and papaya salad was too over powering that made everyone's mouth numb. Not a good experience especially when our main objective is to introduce Filipino food to other cultures.
First time dining at Naman, it was thoroughly reccomended and I can certainly see why. Absolutely delish food, our mains were slow cooked, tender and the sauce just beautiful. We will absolutely be back soon! :-)
Outstanding! Beautiful food and flavours!!
The decor and welcome from the staff just blew me away. It is very rare these days to go to a restaurant where the decor has been so well thought out and so much effort put into the overall effect. The staff were so charming all night. Having already been to Nanam at Royal Oak, I was expecting something similar, but they have truly gone the extra mile at Takapuna. They made it feel like a very special night out. Well done to the team.
Food was amazing - 3rd visit and cannot wait to go again!
Sauce of the salad was a bit strong
Fantastic meal, wonderful ambiance, great location and brilliant service! The staff really helped make it a wonderful evening by going that little bit further and helping me set up a few romantic surprises over the meal for my wife. It was our first time at Nanam and we had the chiefs recommendation meal for 2 which was great, and gave us a really good indication of the different types of flavours and combinations this restaurant showcases. Can't wait to go back and try the Beef cheek main course that had us looking at our neighbouring table with envy!
Great value for money, much better than market Filipino foods.
Delicious food as always. Staff are friendly and attentive. The man playing live music on the guitar was great!
Beautiful food in a happy environment
The food is incredible, service to match! I have recommended Nanam to all my friends. And bought a few people through the restaurant. Keep up the good work! Fantastic place.
