Located in The Arches on Brighton seafront overlooking the West Pier, Murmur is a casual, all day dining restaurant by Great British Menu 2017 winner Michael Bremner.
Sister restaurant to the award-winning 64 Degrees, Murmur was opened by Michael to offer a different dining concept, serving healthy and honest food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a stunning beachside location.
The restaurant is named Murmur from the word murmuration which is the shape that the starlings make when they flock and fly between the two piers here on the coast, with the logo representing the six arches in which the restaurant is located.
Murmur has 37 covers inside and a further 40 covers on the terrace overlooking the beach, is children friendly throughout the day and dogs are welcome on the terrace.
Fantastic and friendly service. Food was excellent!
Lovely evening for our anniversary. Beautiful setting and delicious food.
We had a lovely evening enhanced by fabulous food wine and service.. The Sirloin to share with chips and rockets was outstanding!
Great food, nice wine, good atmosphere
It is an under-rated gem so reluctantly I share ;)
Great service, great food, lovely atmosphere, a bit pricey
Excellent food well presented. The cod was the highlight for my husband. Service friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was better the fuller the restaurant. Would definitely return
Fantastic food and great service. Will definitely be back!
The best lunch out I've had in a while, understated and stylish, beautifully cooked food, excellent service (making sure I had a table suitable for my hearing problems, checking for low alcohol wine for my mum, chatting about the food, lots of smiles and happy interactions between staff....I could go on) and great value. Never mind the location, it was a windy Sunday but being by the sea good in any weather conditions. I loved this place and if I lived in Brighton would be there regularly! I'll be back - my mum lives in Brighton. Thank you
The food and drink we had was extremely delicious. However I had taken my boyfriend (who is a big fish lover) here for his birthday only to find out on a Friday night at 8pm, 2 of the 3 fish dishes were unavailable! Not ideal and it was said rather casually, there wasn't much in the way of money off bill or free drink or other to compensate. Given the menu itself only has 6 options it was limiting.. we did get the option to have the garnish on the other fish but it's not quite the same.
Have visited twice once about a year ago and the other this week. The high standards shown Alastair’s year have been maintained in all aspects.
exclent food and service. only downside was slightly small portion size of gnocci and weak cup of tea.
Fantastic food, beautiful setting, even on a wild and wet and windy night. Good service and atmosphere and was surprised at how reasonably priced it was! Thanks!
Best on a sunny day sitting on the windows with some bubbles. Beautiful.
A hidden gem which gives you Brighton's best! We couldn't have asked for better food or service I would recommend this to anyone who fancies a meal out. Thanks for a perfect night :)
Great food, great service and at a reasonable price.
Fantastic food and service, lovely friendly staff and great atmosphere. We dined as a party of five including a toddler and they went out of their way to make sure that everyone, including our little granddaughter (who they really looked after), had a wonderful experience. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
We love Murmur and have been regular breakfast customers for a long time up until it stopped last year. Whilst that's the case, we've been for dinner a few times and have loved it every time we've been. The food is great, but the staff really make the experience here for us. All of the staff are super friendly and make us feel welcome every time we return. We'll be making more of an effort to go for lunch and dinner moving forward!
Brilliant roast, very friendly service and great value for money. Shame that it was a bit quiet but not surprising given it being a very windy and rainy Sunday in February, sure it would be buzzing in the spring/ summer. Would recommend and will more than likely be back.
Love it Efficient and very friendly staff Food brilliant, fresh and delicious Can’t fault it!
A delicious lunch and attentive staff, as always. Particularly helpful dealing with a nut allergy and making a special dessert. Murmur is now my daughter’s favourite restaurant!
Great food, impeccable service, shame it was so quiet
Had an excellent meal on a very windy cold and wet Saturday . Complementary fizz on arrival was a lovely touch. Looking forward to visiting again especially on a warm summer evening.
Fantastic service and exceptional food
An absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. Lovely casual atmosphere and friendly service, but superb food and wine. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting!
