Located in The Arches on Brighton seafront overlooking the West Pier, Murmur is a casual, all day dining restaurant by Great British Menu 2017 winner Michael Bremner.
Sister restaurant to the award-winning 64 Degrees, Murmur was opened by Michael to offer a different dining concept, serving healthy and honest food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a stunning beachside location.
The restaurant is named Murmur from the word murmuration which is the shape that the starlings make when they flock and fly between the two piers here on the coast, with the logo representing the six arches in which the restaurant is located.
Murmur has 37 covers inside and a further 40 covers on the terrace overlooking the beach, is children friendly throughout the day and dogs are welcome on the terrace.
Excellent meal and service - Very friendly and helpful staff with super food
Generally a lovely evening dinner at Murmur. Waiting staff efficient but could smile a bit more! Cerviche starter was a little on the small side. Deserts were fabulous accompanied by a great espresso martini.
The food was amazing and extremely good value for money. The children’s menu was fresh and healthy and was devoured by our 6 year old. Will definitely be back.
This was our 3rd time here and yet again really enjoyed and will definitely be back soon.
Lovely leisurely afternoon with family, service great, not rushed, food enjoyed by all, nice location.
Food was amazing I had the grilled prawns folowed by whole grilled Beam of the specials board it was massive but so well good really moist flesh. We had a lovely bottle of reasonably price English wine form Essex to go with the meal. To finish my wife had the peanut parfet which equally didn't disappoint. Loved it so much I am meeting with friends in October so they can sample the great food. Being a huge fan of 64degress Murmur is a great addition to the portfolio, but more aimed at family and casual dining and Mr Bremner has got it spot on. Ymm Yum
Thought service was very good Kind thoughtful staff Smiled Food was very good and no complaints Thank you Pariculaty liked fish of the day
Great food, great cocktails, great service. Fabulous afternoon as always. See you soon
The service was impeccable, the food divine
2nd visit to Murmur this year and just gets better and better, looking forward to our 3rd visit
Lovely lunch sat in the sunshine at the seaside
Lovely. But noisy by the bar inside.
We booked here on back of chef Micheal Bremner appearance on great British menu. Starter of lobster croquettes were good and desserts were tasty but the cote de boeuf we had for main to share was disappointing especially at £65.00 which I thought was overpriced knowing how much roughly that cut of beef is in general. It lacked flavour and was a little chewy. Glass of Pinot noir I had with it was not good either at £9. Staff were very good apart from when the waiter came over and opened the doors directly next to us with out asking if we minded, to be fair he did say we could shut them if we were cold which I did shortly after because it was windy and chilly and would make our main go cold. Over all average
Lovely evening with excellent service. Food is good but certainly not 64 degrees standard. Prices much cheaper though.
I am gluten free and I was very disappointed to be served toasted Genius sliced bread! There are plenty of places that sell great GF options to cafes and restaurants. No need to serve something from a supermarket in this caliber of restaurant. The fixed menu was great value and very tasty. However, the skin of the plaice fillet was soggy and the cod hash starter very under seasoned. Overall we really enjoyed the meal, just a few small things would’ve made it even better!
Staff were fantastic the food was excellent and the location looking out at the sea and old pier is wonderful
Have been here for breakfast quite a few times but had not had a chance to come for dinner really enjoyed our meal
Really lovely evening at Murmur. Staff were friendly and attentive, giving the perfect balance of professionalism and relaxed feel. Food was great, nice selection and specials available. Enjoyable evening all round, thanks!
We give 5 stars as there was absolutely nothing to say bad about our lunch. The food was tasty, spot on. Perfectly sized portions, you definitely won’t leave hungry. Staff was attentive and lovely. Sat on the terrace so nice view of the ocean. Great lunch!!
Perfect evening. I proposed to my (now Fiance’) moments before arriving at Murmur to be welcomed with a posecco on arrival. We also had a lovely dessert ‘congratulations’ which was wonderful! Highly recommended!
One of the best dining experiences in Brighton: excellent, imaginative, delicious food; exemplary service; wonderful views. If only one could afford to eat here more often.
Really good - recommend it
Excellent fish from the special menu, fresh and properly cooked. Service friendly and helpful.
Bloody lovely - fresh flavours, lots of sea food, simple menu but with lots of options for food faddists or the dietary challenged (as well as lovely grub for those who aren't). Super service, good booze list, entirely reasonable prices for the standard offered. Their own description is pretty spot on really. Excellent value weekday lunch menu as well - which I have had on another occasion. Maybe a couple more brollies or a big sunshade for the grimly baking weather atm would not go amiss though!.....)
Second visit and it was just as good as the first time. Waiting staff were warm and friendly and the food was amazing.
