We are sorry but this restaurant is not currently accepting online reservations through ResDiary.
We had a firm booking for 8 people. On arrival the restaurant was vacant. It took us 5 minutes to find someone that could help. We were then advised that the same restaurant was downstairs and our booking would be taken there. We went downstairs. Downstairs is actually a cafe. I asked to see the manager. We were advised he would be straight down. After 10 minutes we were advised he was still doing something else and wouldn't be much longer. We opted to leave as had clearly been lied to and they didn't care about our business. We also had 4 rooms booked at the hotel and my team regularly stay there. I won't be back
We had a great night thanks
While the food is good, the ambience of the restaurant is confused; reminiscent of a café in a popular hardware chain. The Parmesan and parsley crumbed veal with rosemary garlic potatoes, wilted silver beet and balsamic glaze was a large size and very tasty.
Sad to say it was disappointing and most aspects
Lovely dinner. Great service
Not open lunches as advertised even though they had a booking system. Had to go elsewhere.
This would be laughable if it wasn't so inconvenient. I'm sure it's a really good venue, but... 1. I booked this lunch reservation through your system 2. I was asked to reconfirm (through your system) 3. My guest and I attended the restaurant yesterday to find it doesn't open for lunch!!!! 4. Now you're asking me for a review and recommendation Feel free to apologise by email when you are ready. :-)
will come back
We would be delighted to dine there again.
There were 8 of us and each and everyone of us enjoyed our experience at Mr Carpano. Food was great, service was amazing - shout out to David who went over and above to ensure we were looked after. Highly recommend!
Pretty bad overall
We booked and when we arrived it was closed we were told that we were now eating in the buffet
Natasha was really friendly and helped us with the food and drinks. Through the lack of guests, the staff wasn’t around much and we couldn’t order as many drinks as we maybe wanted but the food was really nice.
expectations of the buffet were that of a stand up and go help yourselves. It was nice that it was served to your table, although it did take quite a while for the food to come out as it all came out at the same time. When it did, pizzas, pastas & salads which were all very nice. A nice touch to the end would have been a couple of mini desserts to Share to finish the night with a tea of Coffee. Service sort of weened off towards the end with no offer of a menu or tea/coffee. Our waiter Stephen he was great co soldering there looked to be only two to three waiting staff on. Also, the restaurant was very warm. All in all, we had a lovely time and it was great value for money. Thank you!
Over 45 minutes to receive our food is to long to wait.
Great venue. We took advantage of the bottomless lunch and it was fantastic.
A wonderful evening
Look forward to dining at Mr Carpano again in the near future. Well presented and deliciously Italian food.
The table was just a bit cramped for 3 people. Forgot part of our order hence service is only 3 stars.
Brilliant service and very friendly without being intrusive. The garlic pizza looked good and tasted even better---a good start! I had Yellow Fin tuna and it was done perfectly to my liking and my husband had an entree serve Calamari which was very tender and he was happy too. After the Show, we returned for Affogatos and they were great too. Loved this restaurant---not pretentious, just very friendly and knowledgeable staff who went out of their way to please. Thanks guys---it was a pleasure to dine there.
I booked online but they didn't have my booking luckily they had plenty of tables.
The staff were very polite and helpful. We asked for the lighting to be turn down a little and it was no problem to the friendly staff. The food was beautifully prepared. My steak was so tender. We enjoyed our evening.
Unfortunately the food was overcooked. Scallops, chicken breast and lamb rack were all overdone. Chicken breast was very dry. Flatbread was nice. Music was too loud and chairs need something on the bottom of legs as they scrape loudly on floor. Staff were friendly and attentive. An ok meal but not fantastic.
Arrived at 12.45pm for a 1pm lunch reservation and there was no staff around. Server that eventually appeared was surprised to hear that I had made a reservation. Clearly, we were not expected. Prior to seating us, we were reminded that the restaurant was an Italian restaurant and “did not serve Asian food”. This was a pointless statement and uncalled for. Server, who spoke with a French accent, evidently had a preconceived idea about the Asian palate. I was deciding if we should just walk away but decided to stay as we were all hungry. I was glad we decided to stay as the food was good in both taste and quality. It would have been a perfect experience if server could lose her condescending and racist attitude.
Happy Hour 5-6pm. $5 house wines, beer and spirits.
