Went a few months ago and really enjoyed the food. This time we found the Christmas menu flavourless. Nice venue but service still needs some work.
Fantastic Hotel and Spa facilities Staff and service was excellent throughout our stay
Great friendly staff and amazing food. Just the heating was on way to high all night and we were on the ground floor so I couldn’t leave a window open. I turned the radiator off and then at 5am I had to stand by the outside doors to cool the room down.
Hotel comfortable and v pleasant surroundings. Good service. However, the meal in the grill was very ordinary and rather overpriced. The sound insulation between rooms could be better- especially the room door closing causing reverberations in the early hours
We had dinner on Saturday night. It took over 20 minutes for us to be served after we had sat down, there were not enough staff members working that evening. The food was overpriced. The Covid safety measures within the restaurant was not acceptable, after one couple left their table, another customer was sat down at the same table without being cleaned. We also had breakfast on the Monday morning, to be disappointed even further after being served cold eggs and after a new plate arrived, they were inedible. I left the restaurant hungry. Not impressed.
nice chilled atmosphere although Tyson Fury was a bit grumpy
Many thanks to all involved when we enjoyed a Spa stayover at the hotel. Each course of the meal was beautifully cooked and the level of service from the restaurant team could not be faulted as they anticipated every need. As an extra note, the breakfast was just as superb. We will certainly be returning again!

One of the starters was lukewarm and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The waitress we had was good if a little inexperienced, but the other waiter was cold and gave basically no added value or service whatsoever - might as well have been a robot. The biggest disappointment was the steak which my partner ordered ‘blue’; it came out medium rare so had to be sent back...when it came out again it was better cooked but the quality of the meat was frankly poor, especially considering the £30+ price tag - those are Hawksmoor prices. Overall disappointing and we felt ripped off.
We had such a lovely evening, team were great and attentive, food was beautiful and price was reasonable. We would eat here again if back in the area.
The food was at best average and at worst totally uninspiring. There are great burgers now, they can be exciting and delicious. These were tough hockey pucks. There’s no atmosphere and it’s all far too expensive. The hotel is lovely so guests are better advised to eat at one of the local pubs
Had to send my meal back as the vegetables were cold second meal was ok we has coffee and Irish coffee after dinner we had to sent them both back Service was ok the price needs to be looked at I thought the cost was to much as the food was not up good
Some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. To begin with, a chipped glass was replaced by one that was stained and contained a dead fly. Staff were very inattentive; we had to ask for water despite other tables being offered on arrival, we had to ask for another round of drinks and at no point did anyone come over to check if food was okay despite the restaurant being very quiet. We had hoped for another drink after finishing our mains but after sitting for half an hour with no one coming to the table we decided to leave. On our way out, we mentioned our disappointment to the manager and he kindly took one round of drinks off our bill.
We paid £92 for a bottle of wine and were surprised that it was decanted for this price. Food however was very nice
Lovely staff, food delicious and fast service. Couldn’t fault the meal in any way.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Carrington Grill. Delicious food and good service.
Love the new Champneys Spa. Hotel rooms very dated compared to the modern new spa. Bathroom also very dated now . Breakfast was a full English but was very dried up again like the food had been in hot holding a while this is both occasions it has been like this . Carriington Grill food was ok but not anything special . So quiet in the restaurant and bars we could hear other people’s conversations quite uncomfortable. A little background music would of been nice at the Grill and bar . Still though the spa will keep us coming as beautiful
Breakfast a bit of a shambles, long wait for breakfast, lots of customers in the room complaining. Also if you had to pay £15 for the full English it is very poor value for money, 1 sausage, 2 bacon, half tomato one mushroom and one egg, not good value.
Staff were lovely. The atmosphere was probably due to Covid but the restaurant felt rather too dark. The food was rather bland... we had the duck felt it was missing something.
Atmosphere a little lacking. Waiting staff friendly and attentive. Starter: selection of speciality breads was below average and too much oil with the balsamic. Mains: steak very good, chicken did not come out hot. Dessert: chocolate pave very good.
Excellent meal and evening. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and dinner.
The food was lovely, could not fault it but the service let the restaurant down. The staff couldn't do enough for you but it was obvious that there was not enough of them. Waited 25 minutes for a drink to arrive.
Felt 100% safe in these crazy times. All staff were polite and friendly. Gorgeous well presented food. Beautiful hotel in a really gorgeous setting. We would definitely recommend to anyone.
Mix up with food, poor service, expensive for what it is. Went for inclusive spa lunch too and service was poor again
The management need to help the staff rather than hinder with targets and wish lists
