About Morningside Tavern
A tavern in Morningside Auckland inspired by the founder of the area, Allan Kerr Taylor and his wife Sophia Kerr Taylor
Love the free drink for sober drivers! Bit loud toward the end of the night (we left at about 9pm) as we were just wanting to chat but otherwise fine :]
Absolutely love quiz nights! Great atmosphere, food and a lot of fun!
What started off as a bad experience when my event was double booked and discovered less than 7 days in advance, turned into a great experience. A small group of friends and I went to the venue for a mini-leaving party and were treated with wonderful attentative service. Each staff member was super helpful, the drinks were delicious and the food was AMAZING! The manager, Dave, even came over and had a chat with us. Great venue, I would definitely recommend it. Big size, good outdoor area, nice bathrooms, warm in winter - great!
Had a great time, will definitely be back 👍 Food was good and yummy dessert 😋
Great friendly service with cool industrial decor to match
Had a great experience at Morningside. Great atmosphere, great service from all the staff, I will definitely be back!
I hosted my 30th Birthday at the Morningside Tavern and we had a great time! The team were lovely and friendly and made sure that we were well looked after. The atmosphere was great, the DJ took requests and everyone thought keeping some of the original fittings were really cool.
Thank you so much Dave for a fantastic afternoon spent celebrating our son’s 21st birthday luncheon! Fantastic service, atmosphere and food! We will be back very soon 😊
I held a small function there for my business. The service was top notch and the atmosphere awesome. None of the attendees had been there and they were very impressed. Thanks to Dave and the team for making it a great night!
Hi there. We had a lovely night for our booking thank you! The only disappointment was not being able to watch the blues game or the warriors! Also more non alcoholic options would be great! (From a pregnant lady 😊)
Great place for a casual gathering.
Had a lovely evening celebrating my birthday and the booking of 30 people seamed not a problem.
We had our engagement party and it was stress free from beginning to the end. Really good atmosphere and the team went out of their way for us. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be back!
My fav place to go - love the food + atmosphere! Great service too
Lovely day & our group really enjoyed the hospitality especially given we were hosting a mate over from London in need of a break from his role in Brexit :)
Hi team pretty disappointed, service - we felt like we were a nuisance, the Greek salad and chicken schnitzel is not value for money, literally half a cucumber a few cherry tomatoes some olives and 2 pieces of deep fried chicken for $25.50- decided to get chips but didn’t realise they were $13.50 a bowl which is expensive. I don’t mind smokers but eating outside and punters smoking around kids and pregnant people needs to be looked at. Probably won’t be back. Could be awesome but too many fails for us!
We enjoyed the 50th birthday celebration even though hardly anyone else was in the room due to it being Easter Sunday. Our guests were impressed with the décor and quality of the building and the range of craft beers. Because the place was nearly empty the ambience was strange but we had a good time anyway and enjoyed all the food.
Great venue for a relaxed afternoon catch up with friends.
The lights were dimmed when we were trying to order so could hardly see the menu. Then when our food came out they got dimmed even more to the point that it was lighter outside and we could hardly see each other let alone the food.
