About Morgans Bar
Morgan's Bar Afternoon Tea
My wife and I regularly have afternoon teas so we feel well qualified to pass constructive criticism. This was a special occasion with my twin sister and 87 year old parents and Carden Park Hotel seemed a perfect venue for afternoon tea. Firstly, whilst I cannot fault the venue, it came as a shock to see people wandering around the lounge area in white robes and slippers detracted from the grandeur of our occasion. I believe it is reasonable that guests frequenting the spa facilities should be encouraged to be respectful of the other guests and dress suitably in public places. Secondly, the quality of the food was excellent but the quantity, three finger sandwiches each was derisory and poor value for money at £20 each. Principally, for these two reasons we would not return or recommend Carden Park Hotel to others. Kind regards David Lester
Disappointed with the service. Asked for remaining cakes to be boxed up ( this has been done in the past with no problem) . Had to wait 30 minutes only to be given pieces of foil which we had to cut up ourselves . Once served the afternoon tea nobody came to check and ask if we wanted more tea etc. On the whole poor value for money
Excellent value, staff very accommodating.
Had afternoon tea, where as food was lovely we thought it was lacking in service and could have done with small spoons for the panacotta desert, ate light lunch in Vines, food was superb, service great
Had to ask for teaspoons as these were not laid out ready like everything else. Also then had to ask for milk as this was not mentioned at all. Had to go up to the bar a few times to asknfor extra tea/milk. Food was lovely
Lovely festive afternoon tea!
Very disappointed, bread was stale. Virtually no service. Waited an age to be served.
First time at the hotel and bar. Great afternoon tea especially the big pot of tea which was very appreciated.
A lovely relaxed afternoon tea, served by staff that were happy to help in any way.
Really happy with the hospitality. The atmosphere provided for a lovey end of term get together for me and my team. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful. All positive feedback from us and would definitely come back to do something similar again. Thank you very much.
Fabulous afternoon tea in lovely surroundings Staff were polite and attentive Highly recommended
The cakes for afternoon tea were very rich with too much cream for me. But it was good to see a lot of fires going on a really miserable wet and windy day in June.
We had a lovely afternoon tea. Thank you
When we attended Afternoon tea for 3 people we were very disappointed in the whole experience. We were treating our 7 year old daughter to show her where we got married nearly 9 years ago. After waiting 40 minutes for our afternoon tea to arrive the waiter got it wrong and was only for 2 people!! I approached a waitress and explained and she said she would find out what has happened. I wasn't happy at this point as the amount of sandwiches was very little. 3 tiny little brioche buns each. Honestly for the price we were paying it was awful. I asked for a manager. 20 minutes later the duty manager came with another afternoon tea for one person. At this point we were very annoyed and not happy at all with the service, cost and amount of sandwiches. We decided we weren't paying over £50 for something we weren't happy with. We spoke to the duty manager and we left!! Our daughter was so upset with how the afternoon went and left the hotel in tears 😢 It is such a shame as we had a fantastic wedding but looks like things have changed. I don't think we would return again and certainly not for Afternoon tea x
Very disappointing. Had been for spa day then thought good end to the day would be afternoon tea. Very poor value for money. 3 tiny, tiny sandwiches each & one with only cucumber on!!! Asked if they would be replenished & was told no. Cakes were nice. Tea was served in a huge pot just for one person - so it was quite stewed after first cup! Very disappointing end to our visit.
Lovely setting for an afternoon tea. It was for a 80th Birthday, she loved the location and the food. We all had a relaxing afternoon. Thank you for being so attentive.
We travelled 50 miles for a Mothers Day experience and there was absolutely no Mother's Day experience and our two Children aged 11yrs and 15yrs who didn't want to join us for afternoon tea at 1pm were told they could only have a sandwich otherwise would need to eat in another restuarant where they did hot food. Great venue spoilt by lack of customer care, poor service and generally disengaged people. Won't rush back with my work or golf society friends.
It was nice. Everything just tasted really stale like it had been made the night before and wrapped in cling film. Plus we had to ask for more tea after a long wait. Probably wouldn't return again
Lovely afternoon tea, very attentive staff, thank you
Really lovely experience...thank u xx😊
We were served promptly by the barman. The food served for afternoon tea was nice. We asked for tea to be served after champagne. We waited over 40 minutes for a pot of tea for two. Our table was situated by the window, there were food crumbs under the glass.
Excellent service once there but they had no record of our booking when we arrived!
Festive afternoon tea was lovely service spot on.
The quantity of sandwiches was very poor just 3 small finger sandwiches each ..and only a choice of two varieties . We asked for no salmon but had prawn instead ..but only had Turkey and prawn . Very poor for £15 per head . Waitress was very very polite and gave excellent service but unfortunately can't recommend due to quality of food
Absolutely wonderful festive sparkling afternoon tea - we're already planning a return trip!
