About Moor Hall Afternoon Tea
Moor Hall Hotel & Spa is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a traditional English cream tea with friends.
In winter you can take your afternoon tea in the original oak panelled Lounge Bar, Ladywood Room or Minstrel’s Gallery, and in the summer you can sit outside on the terrace which offers fabulous views over the sweeping lawns. Whatever time of the year you visit Moor Hall you will be sure of a warm welcome from our friendly and professional staff.
Served from 1pm until 6pm every day, our full afternoon teas include a selection of sandwiches and a delicious assortment of homemade cakes and fancies. To accompany your afternoon tea, you can choose from a selection of 6 specially blended loose leaf teas, including the exclusive Moor Hall Blend which is a refreshing blend of Ceylon Orange Pekoe, rich Assam and First Flush Indian Darjeeling. You can even take a tin of Moor Hall Blend tea home with you as a memento of Moor Hall for £5!
Really satisfied. Excellent afternoon tea and all staff were attentive/helpful. Would recommend to others.
We had an amazing time at Moor Hall for my 50th birthday fizzy afternoon tea celebrations. I really couldn't fault the service, the food or the staff. Thank you to the team it made my day really special! I would recommend Moor Hall to anyone looking for a touch of style and a great location.
I was disappointed that we were not offered any additional tea/coffee and my daughter who had the child's afternoon tea did not get a drink at all. I tried to order a cold drink but the waitress said she'd be back but never returned. The cakes were good but the Service not so great compared to other places I'd visited.
Treated a friend to this for her pre wedding in a few weeks. The service was excellent they made it extra special for her and did a celebration plate and card. Food was lovely. Lovely experience woild definately go again.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay.Thank you
Wonderful as always . Polite and device great . Food wonderfull thankyou all . Estelle
We thoroughly enjoyed our Traditional Afternoon Tea. The service was impeccable and the food divine. Many thanks for your hospitality
My friend and I really enjoyed our afternoon. However, I was disappointed that we were charged extra for soft drinks. Neither of us likes tea/coffee (which I know sounds silly!), but we do like "Afternoon Tea". Everywhere I have been in the past has been happy to provide us with soft drinks/juice instead, at no extra charge. Even locations in London have done so. I wasn't warned that we'd be charged either. Overall, it was a pleasant afternoon.
Luke our waiter was brilliant
Excellent food but service not so good seems I was to much effort
Made the end of my mom's funeral day special. Loves our homely private room. Thanks
Booked as a Mother’s Day treat and it didn’t disappoint. Food and drink was lovely, would definitely go back
Relaxed atmosphere, attentive but non intrusive friendly staff. Nice touch to take away what couldn't be eaten. Thoroughly recommend.
Had a wonderful afternoon tea at Moor Hall and we were really well looked after by Angie. Would definitely come again.
Visited for an elderly relatives birthday , it was a lovely touch when the staff sang happy birthday
When we got there it appeared that our booking couldn’t be found. We were sat by a window and explained due to the age of the building it was a bit cold so had a heater by us. However we asked to move in the end as say with scarf and coat on and still cold. We had preordered the gentleman’s afternoon tea but a very long wait for the food. Eventually the waitress told us that had anyone informed us that this took longer because of the steak, no one had. However when it came the steak was that rare it was mooing still, my mum had to eat my one. By the time the food had come out tea was cold, the sandwiches which were meant to be hot were cold. We had afternoon tea for three but only received 2 pots of jam and 2 cream, they wasn’t doubled up. Had to spread the jam an cream that thin we couldn’t taste it so made the scones really dry. Really poor value for money, average food and slow service. We have been for a few afternoon teas elsewhere and I would rate this as one of the worse. If you looking for a good afternoon tea do not go to Moor Hall.
Booked for our moms for mother’s day. Afternoon tea. They was very impressed and well looked after.
Booked via moor hall website but when we arrived it was obvious that they were not expecting us as we were not on their list, even though we had received an email a couple of days earlier reminding us of our booking ! Very little atmosphere in dining room as it was empty when we sat down. Asked to have fire turned up as it was also cold in there. Waitresses were great and food was lovely and plentiful. Nice to have little boxes on hand to take the uneaten cakes home. Would go again but would not book through website.
Exceptional afternoon tea and the scones were to die for!
Great value afternoon tea. If anything there was too much and we had to resort to a 'carry out' box for all the cake we couldn't manage - hardly a complaint though.
Lovely Atmosphere and the staff was great. It was our birthday and they really treated us well. So thank you for that. Regarding the selection of pastries - it was very standard nothing overly special. Sandwiches were nice but again nothing out of the ordinary.
Had vouchers for 4 celebration afternoon tea, did not receive drink, asked to have menu for kids x2 in place of more expensive adult afternoon tea. Received one kids only. Insufficient sandwiches for three adults, what was served looked nothing like what you advertise. Table not prepared at all, awful atmosphere with people strolling around in dressing gowns all over the place, not ideal in front of children. Absolute waste of £100 and couldn't wait to get away in truth. As I have detailed on trip advisor we would have experienced better at Greggs. Awful
I brought two friends for afternoon tea on Monday afternoon it was absolutely lovely and we all enjoyed the experience. I shall be entertaining family from Hong Kong at Easter and will definitely be heading your way. Thank you
Starting off with the food and drink. We both loved the sandwiches and scones but the top plate of desserts were a bit repetitive. Service. The best part about the service was a young lad that appeared not long before we were going to leave. He asked us if there was anything we wanted. Any other time we had to go round to the bar for anything while there was a funeral on. Couldn’t of been nice for them either! Atmosphere. Was great to start off with until we had a group in who were discussing how to pour pints with a member of staff. I took my partner to Moor Hall for Valentine’s Day for a lovely quiet romantic time, just the two of us, but we had the group getting louder with every sip of beer they had. It might not of been so bad if I was pre-warned about it when I booked. Value for money. With getting 25% off the bill because of this group interrupting my time with my partner the value for money wasn’t too bad, but I’d of rather paid full price for it and not of had the group in! Me and my partner love tea. You can always tell a place from the teapot. If it pours well, you know they have taken their time to find a good teapot that doesn’t go every where but the cup. I would bin all of your teapots and find decent ones. “Try before you buy!” Hot boiling water went onto my partners ankle because you haven’t taken the time to find yourselves decent china.
My wife and I had a really nice Afternoon Tea there. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only bad point was the cream for the scones, because it was almost solid, and it must haveonly just been brought out of the fridge. It was really difficult putting the cream on the scones. So it would be better to either put it in a shallower dish so it goes soft quicker, or bring it out of the fridge well before.
