Although it was a bit cold to be eating outside we thoroughly enjoyed our food .... it was really good to be out again
It was lovely to be back dining at The Moathouse, even if it was outside. We had a lovely meal and were very impressed with the service and COVID measures. Unfortunately it got a bit cold by 8pm otherwise we could have stayed all night ,
We have the bar menu but the afternoon tea looked amazing
We had a fabulous time. Beautiful setting, super service and the food was delicious! I will definately be returning. Highly recommend.
Lovely day, great food, great drinks, staff attentive.
Had Afternoon Tea, cold on Chips etc, plus cappuccino warm.
Enjoyed food & drink, although chilly to sit out. We came well prepared with wearing thermals & blankets
Great to be back! Great setting for the outdoor dining although really cold. Patio heaters would be helpful.
Our first visit after lockdown was mixed hence the scores we have left. Positives: The food was delicious, warm and well presented. Negatives: We had to wait 25 minutes after being seated for our first drink and similar waits for further drinks thereafter. The choice of beer is poor which has always been a bugbear at The Moat House. Only options for ales were Banks’s and Wainwright’s. We feel you are missing a massive opportunity by not embracing the craft beer revolution along with the slow service. We would visit and spend much more if you had more variety of beers and kept us topped up!
Great food & service and lovely views sitting outside. A little bit cold but this to be expected at this time of year.
Extremely well organised for reopening of outside dining.
Absolutely brilliant especially given the circumstances. Staff were very attentive and food was delicious, had to eat quickly as the air was cold but didn’t change the tastiness!
The food was fantastic very helpful staff and we were fine under your "tent" did bring our own blankets it was just nice to be able to go out for a meal
Was wary about the outside dining but it was set up lovely a little cold but the waitress got us a shield to put between us and where the wind was coming over so it made it a bit more sheltered kept my coat and hat off as long as possible!!! Food was lovely as always
Had a lovely meal, the food was amazing, the staff were lovely, really enjoyed it, always a treat to spend time at the Moathouse
This was our first family meal since coming out of lockdown. I thought the outside eating area looked great, a very romantic vibe about it. The staff were on point, welcoming and happy to be serving customers. Everything was spotless, it felt relaxed and Covid safe. The food was delicious as always. 10/10 all round.
Absolutely fabulous , food and service was outstanding . Will be visiting again very soon.
Despite all the difficulties outdoor dining presented the Moat House team they rose to the occasion on all fronts. Excellent hot food, wonderful service at table. Simply a pleasure to dine out here again. Well done.
Excellent food and excellent service. We have booked to go again in a couple of weeks
Food was pretty average and certainly not worth the high cost. Chips and fish batter were very very pale in colour and chips were barely cooked. We knew we would be sitting outside but a few patio heaters would have made it a much nicer experience, at a very small cost. Staff were excellent.
Service was excellent and staff couldn't do enough for us, highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon, thank you!
It was great to be able to visit The Moat House for lunch once again.Everythigbwas top class as usual,Maria and there’s were excellent as usual, our meals were delicious. Thanks a lot.
Excellent service, friendly greeting, superb food, pity it was so cold!
We had a lovely lunch. Food was fantastic, of excellent quality and superb presentation. Couldn't fault anything. Staff were all very informative and attentive. Will visit again soon. Beautiful surroundings
One thing I thought there were no table numbers.!!? Which lend to my bill having some on eles drinks order on ( which lend to me and my family having to wait while being sorted, and staff asking me what I ordered to help them figure out who's bill is who's) also having to ask services staff what food and drink they had in there hands and asking me and my family at my table what I ordered to identify who's drinks and food is who's,. when something as simple as table numbers would stop all Confusion and make it so much easier to identify who's order is who's. All so some sort of heaters (patio heaters) for eating areas would work great as me personally would of stayed longer eating and drinking. Totally understand it was the first day back to business after lockdown and just saying this as feedback. and would happily come back once every one found there feet.
