Considering it was the last night you were allowed to be open the staff were lovely - it was a very very good evening
Marie and Paul looked after us exceptionally well, as usual. The food was also excellent. The early doors menu is very good value. Just very sorry that the Covid-19 virus means that all restaurants and pubs must close and that we won't be able to visit you again soon. However, as soon as you are able to reopen, we will be there!
The food was very good and the only reason the atmosphere was low was because of the lack of customers due to the current situation (virus).
Throughly enjoyable experience especially at a difficult time for us all. The service was exceptional and the food superb. Extremely satisfying overall.
Excellent occasion as usual.
Had my wedding and both my children's naming ceremony here, in true Moat House style it never fails not to impress me and my wife. Visits over 20 years and we keep coming back for more. The gourmet menu was delicious!!!
The food is amazing. Would like to see different menus once every 2 months. We have been there many times in the last 5 months and will continue to do so
Amazing as always. I have a feeding tube and struggle to eat adult portions, your staff made my visit again less stressful than it can be due to their awareness and kindness. Love everything about this beautiful place.
Excellent. Food and service.
Excellent, we had a lovely evening. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Love Grill Night and the sun blushed butter with bread as aperitif.
If I’m honest I didn’t enjoy the food.....beef undercooked to my taste and a a definite lack of vegetables It seem as the plate get bigger the food gets smaller Presented Nicely but not wholesome Service was great especially the girl who served us
We had a lovely meal. The food was delicious
This was the first time we have been for an evening meal - we usually come for Sunday Lunch. I was very impressed with the choice and quality of the food. Service was impeccable. I will be back.
Wonderful meal and excellent service as always.
The gentleman that served us was really nice and very accommodating and good.
Thank you for the wonderful meal we enjoyed for my wife's 65th birthday on Sunday 8th March. The service was excellent and the attention to detail (we had two guests who required gluten free food) contributed to a relaxing and convivial afternoon. We look forward to dining with you again very soon.
A lovely afternoon tea. Sandwiches and cakes were beautiful with a nice selection. Staff were friendly. Just a small minor, It would have been nice to have a few more sandwiches and less cakes.
Extremely pleased with the wonderful service provide by our waitress Marie, she went ou of her way to maqke our evening special.
This was my first time at the Moathouse, I had been recommended and I can now see why. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. I can not fault anything. Will go again and passing on my own recommendations to family and friends.
Lovely food and great service!
We were celebrating my fathers birthday with delicious steaks and great wine. Very attentive staff. A wonderful evening

Had a great 3 course set meal, food, Staff ,Setting was amazing for my sister in laws 60th , thank you for making it special
I eat at the Moat House on a regular basis, probably at least once a month; most of my visits have been very enjoyable and so I was considerably surprised and disappointed by my experience of February 19th 2020. I usually request Table 104 in the main restaurant, this has a nice view and is far enough away from other diners to give myself and my dinner companion sufficient privacy to have a conversation on personal matters. I had a previous experience when I booked a table at the last moment to find that Table 104 was not availavble - entirely my own fault, I am happy to acknowledge -and so I was allocated Table 103. The purpose of my lunch date on that occasion was to discuss some highly sensitive and personal issues and so I was concerned to realise that our table was extremely close to another another table and as became clear during the meal, well within earshot. This experience was entirely my responsibility and so I decided to make sure that iyt never happened again. I booked the table for February 19th with plenty of notice and requested my usual table, I was assured that this was arranged; on the day I turned up with my guest and saw that Table 104 had already been allocated to someone else, much to my disappointment. The meal was somewhat of a disappointment - my starter of cheese tart was cold, not simmering I would have ordered if i had known - and my main course of beef had no green vegetables with it so that I had to order a side dish at my own expense to balance this.My guest also felt that the batter in her order of fish and chips was extremely salty and she had to pick the fish out of the order and eat it separately. All in all, a tremendous disappointment, I am reluctant to consider using the restaurant again. Yours sincerely Dr Andrew Thomas
We enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon. Thank you!
