1st class service from merie thank you
We enjoyed a thoroughly excellent lunch at this fine restaurant, with its lovely setting, pleasant ambience, attentive service and of course very fine food. It’s always a pleasure to eat here and gets our firmest recommendation.
This was my 5th afternoon tea here. The waitresses were very attentive and constantly offered extra tea or cake. The choosing of your tea is always a treat that never gets boring.
The egg on my starter was slightly underdone, so it was wobbley. Couldn’t eat that bit. I also spoke with staff about it being my partners birthday. He never passed the message on to our waiter and my partner very nearly got no special treatment on his big day. I had to speak with staff again.
Excellent as usual
Excellent food & very nice staff.
Our family went to the Moat for Sunday lunch everything was perfect the food was excellent, the service was very good the waiters and waitresses are very well trained and are always very friendly the restaurant looked superb very nice table decor, all in all very good it was a pleasant lunch 🥙
Thought the 12&1/2% additional charge was a lot to understand. And expecting a tip also.
Below par for the Moat House
Wonderful food, wonderful staff, wonderful surroundings.
We booked private dining for 20 in the restaurant for a 30th birthday celebration, the room was made up lovely and balloons, cake and decorations were displayed exactly as we had asked. The MH staff made our guests feel welcome and dinner was served promptly and efficiently. The food was delicious, presentation and taste exquisite- great feedback from all guests, a first class dining experience. MH staff regularly asked if everything was ok and were very attentive to all which made the evening perfect.
Food was to die for. The staff were really friendly and the place in general is amazing. Although the staff were busy nothing was too much trouble
Food was good value for money for the quality and choice. Service was excellent and the atmosphere and ambiance was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening
I wouldn't usually complain but we booked to have lunch at the moat house yesterday to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. We had held our wedding reception at the moat house. We have returned several times but eaten in the bar area. This year with our two sons slightly older we thought we would have a treat and sit in the restaurant to enjoy the views. However, I was disappointed to be seated at the furthest point from the windows, in between the entrance and the kitchen door. I did ask to move but was told the restaurant was fully booked. After we had eaten the restaurant was still only half full so it did feel like an excuse to keep us away from other guests simply because we had children with us. When it came to ordering food, I asked whether I could have the bbq pork starter that was advertised online on the fixed price menu, but was told no because in small writing online it states it is a sample menu only. I felt the choices on the day were not varied and disappointing. I felt given the online example the restaurant manager could have been more accommodating. For dessert we asked for an ice cream scoop each for the boys and was brought a full waffle and ice cream... and charged a full price for it. The waiter had appeared to listen to us but maybe it got lost in communication to the kitchen. Finally we were waited on by 5 different staff. I am all for team work but the number meant it wasn't a streamline service. For example, we asked one person for the bill at the end and whilst we were waiting we were asked if we wanted tea/coffee on two occasions by two different staff members. Overall, I was disappointed by our experience on what should have been a happy celebration. It was an expensive lunch out for us, the service wasn't great and I feel it was mean to seat us in the far corner of the restaurant away from the windows. Our two sons, although young, are well behaved and wouldn't have detracted from anybody else's experience. Perhaps it should be made an adult only restaurant. The experience has put me off returning to celebrate our anniversary in the future.
What a fantastic afternoon tea - beautiful surroundings, fabulous food and impeccable service - we will be repeating the experience!
I have been here quite a few times now and love it, food is great service is second to none and the place is super. I have been 3 times now for the Thursday steak night and super value
A very enjoyable evening.Service excellent.
We visited the moat house for a meal in the orangery restaurant to celebrate my wifes' birthday.Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant,we were greeted and made welcome by the staff who looked after us brilliantly during our visit, friendly ,kind, thoughtful and professional and the food was just amazing, delicious flavours, lovely presentation, stunning. My wife said it was the best meal and dining experience she'd ever had ,so a big thankyou to all concerned for giving us such a lovely evening.
Special thanks to Marie for making it an extra special day
Lovely setting and attentive staff
Excellent as always
I'm starting to sound like a worn out record but this is exceptional. Another excellent meal in lovely surroundings. Vanessa is fantastic - extremely professional and a very friendly and pleasant person. You can't better this - but when i come the next time you have ! Thank you.
Recently travelled from Solihull, arrived early so paused for coffee by a roaring log fire in the bar, had wonderful lunch in the lovely conservatory restaurant with views across the pond and canal, staff were so attentive even offering to take our photo. A great relaxing and memorable day, well worth the visit as we usually travel into Warwickshire or the Cotswolds for lunch, we will be returning very soon.
