A very enjoyable late long lunch
Fabulous meal, great value for money. Really attentive and friendly staff.
An excellent leisurely lunch - as always 😃
Fantastic local restaurant
Excellent food and service
Wonderful food and service as ever!
Never fails to be enjoyable - wonderful food, excellent service and good value. Why one keeps returning.
Great lunch whilst waiting for the grandchildren who were at The Mistley Kitchen. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great.
Amazing meal. Would highly recommend to others. Will definitely be returning
We visited on Valentines night and the place was packed. Our food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. As the evening wore however, the service suffered due to the sheer number of diners. We had to wait over half an hour for our desserts. I also felt the tables were a little close together for comfort. All that being said I can’t wait to go back at a quieter time.
A lovely evening spent at the Thorn. Delicious food, great wine and fantastic service. Our waiter unsurpassed efforts to give us great service. My husband accidently gave him too much money and instead of assuming it was a very large tip came back to us to check. He is a keeper!! Thank you 😊.
Overall we were disappointed in the standard of cooking especially as our lunch was at the start of service. The menu was liberally scattered throughout, with nuts of all varieties! Warning most dishes contained nuts. The home made bread was really nice, though it might of been nice to of been offered more of it to accompany our starters. The starters were more heavy handed style than substance. I had smoked salmon and beetroot which was ok but my brother’s had the pancake which as a recipe didn’t work. Our main course choice, chicken was unfortunately rather dried out. Portion size was good. I have been to this restaurant on several occasions over the years and had been happy to recommend but this was not the meal it could so easily of been. Standards have slipped.
Excellent lunch as usual
Food very disappointing. Marinated prawn starter very oily and poorly flavoured. Fish cake main quite good although a little dry for my taste but accompanying hand cut chips were soggy!!! Not likely to return.
Regularly eat at Mistley Thorn and consistently excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Love this place. The food is always great. Great value for money.
Vegan night was wonderful. The food was amazing . Thank you.
The set Sunday lunch is good value.
Could have done with a little more time between courses Otherwise we love eating with you. And have just booked a table for a couple of weeks time
A very enjoyable Birthday lunch. Excellent cooking as always.
A lovely evening with great food - as ever.
We were a lunch party of four and we each commented on the menu which was so different from the norm, we found we were tempted by so many of the dishes it was hard to make a choice from this menu! What we had was freshly prepared beautifully presented and delicious
