About Miss Moonshine's
Slow cooking, wood smoking, quality New Zealand meat. Can you almost taste it? Mmmhmm. BBQ cooking inspired by pit masters & street markets. Rubs, ribs, & distinctive smoky flavour that can only come from hours of cooking over burning wood. We take the time-honoured American grill and enhance it with New Zealand freshness from our quality timber & meats.
Miss Moonshine’s serves street-style food hot off the grill.
Great food - short ribs melt in your mouth.
The service was very slow and we waiting more then 1.5hrs for our food.
Service was excellent, the food tasted really good but unfortunately me and my friend were both sick later that night.
We had a fantastic night here, for a group of 14. Our boss menu was delicious and tons of food between us. Great atmosphere too. Perfect
The customer service was the best ! I myself work in the industry, felt really good to be served very professionally and thr food was amazing too but I would say serve by our Main waitress was excellent!
Found it was very hot with the aircon showing up to 29dg. But loved the food and the service was fantastic.
Loved the food and service. An all round amazing dining experience. Ohhh the corn bread 🤤🤤🤤 was to die for!
We had a great lunch and loved everything about your restaurant, the only complaint we had would be it was expensive almost $200 for 3 of us for lunch (we had a treat me voucher so that helped) and the wine pours were small and overpriced in comparison to other restaurants we visit in the same area.
Fabulous American style BBQ meat and delicious sides at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing service and food our waitress was so lovely explained everything and looked after us so well even surprising my mum with an apple pie as was her birthday! We took our 18month old and they had a high chair crayons and were just lovely with her... and now the melt in your mouth food! Pulled pork was the favourite on the table came with crackling. They didn’t have beef ribs but we tried the sausages, brisket and lamb ribs. Yum! So tender! Mac n cheese coleslaw and potato skins were yummy and the hangi kumera melted in your mouth. Our baby scoffed it all! As did we! $330 for five and us plus baby but that includes bottle of wine plus beers. For the quality of the food this was reasonable priced for a high end dinner night out. And did I say the service was amazing!! Go you won’t regret it. Thank you Miss Moonshines we will be back.
The food sas so good and the service was excellent. Will be coming again.
Were told there was no beef or lamb ribs(?). Then friendly (clever) waitress promoted the Tomahawk as enough to share. I could have eaten it myself easily - at $84 was grossly expensive! It was very tasty & well cooked, but far too small (told 700g - really....)
Really miss the vegetables you used to have on the old menu. Especially the brussel sprouts. Any chance extra veges dishes could be added to menu
We bought vouchers $30 for $60 which I thought was a great deal. And although the food was great. Was a little confused as the main meat meals come with nothing but a couple of sauces and for meat menus at $28 + I thought was a little pricey. We went on a Sunday at lunch time (the place opens at 12pm, we arrived 12.30pm and there were no Ribs left (pork, short rib beef or lamb ribs on the menu as they had run out). The drinks come in massive glasses of ice, so make sure you ask for no ice. Other than that don't get me wrong it was very nice. Recommend the mash and gravy, you can taste the real butter in the mash.
4 of us came in for dinner on sat night, We ordered Lamb ribs, beef short rib, brisket, 5 sides, 2 drinks. We enjoyed our meal but thought that the pork crackling was not that great, it was that hard you could hardly bit through it. For 5 lamb ribs the price was $60, i thought that was a bit steep. had a plum cocktail that was beautiful. Service was great,
Awesome food and great service.
Our Waitress went above and beyond for us! We wanted the tomahawk steak but unfortunately due to popular demand that evening they had run out however our lovely waitress did her best to accomodate our second choice as this too was sold out as a main option but we still got to have it but as a smaller portion which we were so grateful for as the ribs were to die for! But perfect sizing for us glad we had the smaller portion as I think we would of struggled if they had the regular size available..
first visit, we will be back. looking at doing the sunday class on the 22nd july, thanks to winita our hostess for informing us about this class.
Yummy food, left restaurant feeling very full and satisfied. Service was a bit disjointed, different wait staff coming up asking to take our orders when other staff had already taken our orders. Refilling the water glasses was a bit too frequent. Staff were friendly and welcoming!
Food was great! It reminded me of my time in North Carolina. The prices are "treat yo self" prices but I'll definitely come back someday for a celebration. :)
From woe to go the service was extremely good. The specials were explained in depth along with the rest of the menu so we knew what we were in for. The food was really good with loads of Smokey overtones in the meat. I would totally recommend Miss Moonshines for an outstanding dining experience. The jug of Bourbon Blues was so delish BTW!
Jalapeño poppers and brisket were the best. Service was great but we were seated by a huge sliding door that people kept opening so it was pretty cold most of the time. The staff did try to keep it closed but they didn’t lock it so people kept opening it.
