About Mhor 84
Mhor 84 is a restaurant, café and bar. All three are intertwined. We serve food all day from 8am-9pm, for motel guests, walkers, joggers, cyclists, the odd pet dog, and everyone else, too.
There’s always something good to eat at Mhor 84. We source a lot of our food from our own farm at Monachyle Mhor. Breakfasts come in all shapes and sizes, including the Big Breakfast, our fabled eggs benedict, or a simple flat white with Mhor Bread sourdough toast and homemade jam. Lunches include stonking soups, homemade bread, Scottish steaks, and gourmet burgers, as well as bowls of mussels, or seafood chowder, or a few choice loch oysters, and plenty of sumptuous salads from 12-5pm. From noon until 9pm, additional specials are added to the menu.
Cakes and pastries come freshly baked from our sister bakery Mhor Bread.
There’s plenty of food that kids will enjoy, and high chairs for the little ones.
We’ve a cracking wee wine and beer list, too.
The bar is open for alcohol from 11am to 11pm, Monday-Thursday, till midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 12.30-11pm on Sunday. You’re welcome to come in for a pint, anytime.
We had a fantastic meal here whilst staying near Callander
Avril is such a lovely girl. My husband loved the fish and chips, he commented on how special the tartare sauce and peas were too. My burger was yummy. Coffee excellent. We stayed here one night last year and the evening meal was delicious, I remember the desserts were so good. Sadly not available during the day - but cakes are available.
Fantastic, can’t wait to come again.
Favourite place for pre walk breakfast. Great food, friendly service, and eclectic vibe.
Super lovely atmospheric space- with excellent food!
Attended with my partner for our anniversary. The dining area wasn’t very comfortable with very hard seating, a selection of metal/plastic/wooden seats with no cushions. It was also quite cold as the fire hadn’t got going. Jumpers were left on throughout and not quite what you’d expect in relation to cost. In addition the lights were dimmed a little too much for our liking. The cocktails were not good value for money at £9.00 for a mojito: rum, sugar syrup, lime, mint and soda. I expected for this price it would come in a large glass however it was served in a standard size glass with lots of ice. The food itself was faultless and really rather enjoyed despite the setting. However, quite a wait between starter and main course (can be forgiven due to freshly cooked meals) but when served only one of the mains came and a side for the other main. The waitress soon realised and came over and explained that she had forgotten to put the venison through on the computer and offered her apologies. She then returned and said it would take 15 minutes. Not ideal due to the other main already been served. I was offered another cocktail while I waited which I refused. The meal when it came was lovely but the experience was spoiled as my partner was finished before I got my main meal. When the bill came there had been no deductions made and when asked if everything was alright I explained what had happened as this new waitress was unaware. She spoke with manager who said to take of 1 cocktail. To which I requested the side also be taken off as it was for to be with the venison which didn’t come for 20 minutes after. They agreed to take this off. In reflection and after discussion with others, I feel we were severely let down on the service and should have really been offered more compensation than a free drink. For the standard of food that is served and the price that is charged it’s a shame that this is not echoed through the service nor pride of reputation. I would of thought an establishment like this would of been humiliated at these circumstances and would of wanted to do anything they could to make up for their mistake.
We went twice, once for dinner and the next day for lunch and both times we thoroughly enjoyed it!! We can't wait to go back. Even better was that they had plenty of space that was dog friendly :)
Really enjoyed the burgers but were disappointed there wasnt any seafood available. However,we had a very nice evening
Gareth is an exceptional chef and never fails to disappoint. This is how a burger should taste!
Love Mhor 84. Food and service have always been great. Can't wait to go back!
Excellent place to eat. The games room was a bonus for the kids!
The food and ambience were excellent as always. One or two more modestly priced wine options would be appreciated though.
We had a brilliant lunch here with a 2 year old. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our car then broke down and everyone was lovely about settling us and the little one down with a cup of tea (and milk) and biscuits. Thanks. We were on a return visit and will be back again.
First time eating and staying at Mhor84 Motel. Will definitely be back! Dinner and breakfast was delicious.
Quirky but excellent
Mhor 84 is a very quirky and cosy restaurant with a warm atmosphere. The staff were lovely. We would definitely come back if we were in the area again!
First visit - v good. Will definitely be back.
The woman next to us was extremely rude to the staff and complaining throughout. We found the staff to be lovely and service was good. Excellent food and lovely place to visit.
Very good food, service a bit inattentive but nice. Toilets for male/female are not well sign posted and wed booked a table in the restaurant but got the cafe which was disappointing as it was a special occasion. Still would come again.
A very enjoyable expereince as always. Food was excellent and suitable for our vegan and the one with garlic intolerance without anything special having to be made. The dog had a lovely time too-he says thanks for the water bowl and friendly people who gave him lots of attention. We will be back ! We were also delighted to see you electric charge point as we have just acquired a new Leaf. You will be out charge point of choice when travelling on that road-well done
We had a lovely time.. and really enjoyed our meal. I loved the pecan pie!
It was very nice to be able to make conversation with the very nice waitress (name escapes me ) she will rember me if you mention pigs tails
Took my Swiss tour group here for a birthday treat. Lovely warm reception and hospitality throughout as with all of the MHOR collection. They ate until they couldn’t eat any more, can’t recommend highly enough. Fabulous service, great place, thankyou.
Really loved eating here on the two nights we stayed. The food was very good overall, but a slightly tough steak on the last night brought it down to 4 stars although the flavour was still excellent. Breakfast was excellent. And the coffee divine.
