About Mezze at the King's Head
At the heart of every community you will find a community hub and Mezze Restaurants aims to fill that void by offering good quality, reasonably-priced family-oriented venues away from the city centres.
Each restaurant serves a wide and interesting selection of Mezzés (tapas) for informal dining along with a well-balanced A La Carte menu, which has a scattering of old favourites. For pudding we have a range of delicious treats to tantalize your taste buds and even homemade ice-cream is available at some of our restaurants boasting their own ice-cream parlour.
The food was really nice, lovely chilled out atmosphere. The cocktails were amazing! Will definitely be back!
Food and drinks were good, except for the feta & spinach baklava type thing. That was dreadful. The cocktails were fab, bit pricey so can't have too many. The service was great. Only issue was the very high steps coming into & out of the back entrance. Not very easy to get up & over, especially if disabled. If you are I recommend coming in the front entrance, or letting staff know ahead of time as they have a set of doors that can be opened which makes the journey in a lot easier to scale.
The food & drink was lovely as usual. The only downside was my husband burnt his thumb quite badly on a spoon handle which had been resting over the candle on the table (which was full of plates of food). We reported this to the staff but they didn’t take any action and didn’t even acknowledge the fact that his thumb was blistered quite badly. From a health & safety perspective perhaps you need to review your procedures and the use of low level candles on a crowded table which could cause accidents.
Service was good and the food was very enjoyable.
Took a while for drinks to arrive (food arrived before drinks!). The calamari was great but the chicken was really dry. All food (including garlic bread) came on top of a out of the bag salad leaves, which wasn't great. However, it was good enough, not sure if we would visit again. It's a shame because the atmosphere is good.
Food needs to be hotter. Service was very slow due to a large party in front of us.
Nice to have something of this quality and value for money in the town.
Excellent meal...thank you
We've eaten here several times and choose some different dishes each time. They are always very tasty, good sized portions with excellent service.
Restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night despite lots of tables with reserved signs. This resulted in there being little atmosphere to speak of. Food and service was good though so no complaints on that front. I do worry how long this restaurant will stay open if tables aren’t getting filled on a Saturday night. . .
We had the gran mezze for 3 if us which me and my husband had had when you 1st opened and we loved it so we brought our son who has eared before with you but only had a steak we persuaded him to have the mezze with us the food we had was very nice but the portions size was the same as me and my husband had last time for 3 the only think that was different was the 1st course come out on 3 plates one each so this was ok but the next courses was in the bowls as before and not very large portions was very disappointed last time we were so full we didn’t had a dessert and we don’t normally have pudding but we did and your banana toffee cake was very good
Excellent service as usual. Could do with slightly larger tables when booking for four to accommodate all the dishes; or a small serving side table or encourage ordering in stages?
Good quality food. Quick professional sevice. Highly recommend
Quiet time to visit but food and service was great. Meals explained and after service second to none. Well done all
Very attentive service
Food simply excellent as always and vwry filling as one may not anticipate from a mezze/tapas type restaurant. A bit empty on the evening I went and when more full, on orevious occasions, a bit echoey and loud due to open plan nature but can’t have it both ways.
I wouldn’t personally have chosen to have the football on, last night, but totally appreciate that this is bringing in much needed custom. This is an excellent restaurant - a really positive addition to our town. I hope that it succeeds. Mitch and his wife are lovely hosts who genuinely care about their staff and customers.
Interesting choice of music given the football was on.
Starter plate was a bit messy and the squid a bit oily. BBQ ribs were not nice and tasted a bit like cook in the bag.
Lovely meal, 3 dishes is more than enough
My wife and I had a lovely evening meal with great service. The Kings Head with its great range of food and fantastic staff have become a firm favourite of the whole family. If you like football then you do not have to miss any of the World Cup as they have thoughtfully brought in a big screen TV so you can eat, drink and watch the World Cup.
Friendly attentive staff Good value for money
Great place lovely atmosphere really nice food massive selection of dishes
Mini pittas were replaced on one dish this should have been mentioned
