About MEATliquor QW
MEATliquor started as a burger van (the MEATwagon) in a Peckham industrial estate carpark back in 2010. After its theft came #meateasy, a 3 month pop-up restaurant above an abandoned pub in New Cross, which opened in January 2011. The first permanent MEATliquor site (MEATliquor W1) opened 11/11/11 and the rest was history...
We’re located in Queens skate• dine• bowl, a two minute walk from Queensway station and five minutes from Bayswater station. We’ve got ten pin bowling (with lane service), ice skating, darts, table football, pool, vintage arcade games, diner and a full bar… a one-stop-fun-shop. Our £10 lunch deal is available weekdays until 3pm. Celebrating something big? Parties are our business. Hit us up for group bookings, whatever the size. We’re also very dog friendly.
Close to Hyde Park, Serpentine gallery, Royal Albert Hall and Portobello Market.
Eat in, takeaway or delivery via Deliveroo.
I think every drink was spilt over the table everytime it got put down. Although the restaurant was not busy the service was slow and chaotic..... Drinks forgotten and additonal food brought to the table that wasn't ordered.... Drinks were small and the same price as most other cocktails in London. Overall pretty disappointing, but was cheap so who cares.
Staff were fantastic, friendly and fun. Food was very very average.
Booked the second time for my staff party here. The booking process was anything but smooth. The booking process was anything but professional. When I enquired about the booking and prices, I was told an X amount. I made it explicitly clear on emails and phone conversations that this is a company party and would need a VAT invoice raised to the company. Upon chasing atleast 6 times, I had to call them and get it sorted through someone. Then Something remarkably "shady" happened. The lady who was looking after my booking sent in a different invoice amount to the one we had discussed. When I asked her why it did not match up, she said there was a 12% service charge added on. I said it was never confirmed to me before I paid my deposit. She said Yes but that is something we do charge. I asked if it was discretionary upon which she remarkably said in a very low voice, "Yes it is optional SIR but we will not take the booking if you refuse to pay the service charge!" I couldn't believe it. I am in the hospitality service industry and actually the service charge came to 12 % of the bill when in fact, the way we do our parties, we collect minimum £5 from each member at the end of the night to give the staff. It was around 30 of us which would have meant at-least £150 in tips which was much more than the service charge but the way they went about it was very unethical. If it was not so close to the event date, I would have hit the roof and cancelled the booking but I was sorting this out from a hospital bed being unwell so I did not have enough energy to fight it. At the end of the actual night, there were a few items added to the drinks bill (Extra 2 burgers) which we had not ordered so the staff refunded us back the money. The service staff were fabulous. But the food serving was weird. Everything came in trays (which we had no problems with) but the vegetarians had no idea what they were meant to eat when we had informed them previously that there were several non-meat eaters but somehow they still served all the sides mixed up with meat so we just had to adjust it on the day. Also the excel sheet they sent for pre-ordering burgers also had a section to pre-order sides which took me an entire day to chase people to complete only to find out from MeatLiquor that SIDES can NOT be pre-ordered even though the excel said order Burger and Sides! I won't recommend arranging any big party there but its a good place to go as a walk in for a good bite and some games! Burgers were quite tasty too! Thanks
Our waitress Elena was brilliant, really courteous and patient. Thank you for giving us all such a lovely time
Waitress seemed annoyed to be serving us, always with a long face. Not helpful at all while doing the check at the end. We were in 20 people
We had a great time. They are really good at catering for large parties. Everyone was fed and happy in no time!
Terrible experience, extremely poor customer service. Staff took ages to take our order, even the table next to us got served first despite arriving after us. Some of the food arrived cold, and despite getting replaced with fresh food quickly after, the burgers in general weren’t all that nice. The person the delivering the fresh food to the table was incredibly moody. My friend had finished his beer and a staff member came to take away his glass, with no offer of another drink. Apparently they didn’t want our money? He’d have quite liked another if give the chance.... Finally our payment was taken by someone we’d not dealt with all evening. Unsurprisingly we didn’t want to pay the gratuity already on the bill. When she realised this she was visabily unhappy, huffed and walked off without a thank you, a goodnight or asking what the problem had been. Not sure I’ve had a worst experience.
We had to ask for the music to be turned down and also the Air conditioning on numerous occasions because we were sitting under 2 speakers and had to shout! The food was ok, but half of the orders came out quite a while after the first orders.
Had a bowling party for my daughter's 10th birthday and it was fantastic, she had a fabulous time with friends. Service was fantastic, staff were very helpful. We will be back Best
The service needs some serious work, the staff are friendly but seem to have no idea about customer service. We had to order the same drink nearly 5 different times before the order was fulfilled, and when it finally was brought to the table (45 minutes after we ordered), they had provided us with the wrong drink. We reserved a table for after our curling event - however we had to wait 20 minutes for our table to be ready. We were happy to wait in the bar, but the waiting staff wouldn't even come to notify us when our table was ready - instead they asked me to come back in 20 minutes to check. The music is way way too loud, I couldn't even hear the person sitting next to me.
The children had a great time ,parents were shoved from one place to another ,couldn’t even get a coffe ,bar was shut that does coffee,no choice for children if vegetarians, only mac and cheese
The staff were so lovely, we were welcomed with big smiles and the waiter was excellent, very funny and attentive. The food tastes great, so can't be too mad at the high prices. As a group of 13 young adults we found the atmosphere great, really spacious restaurant with super cool décor and lighting. I will be back and my friend is now also having her birthday celebration here after our visit so they are doing something right!
Took party of 12 boys and they loved the kids burgers
Food was not really good, we had to wait to have all the food that we order it at the same time
Thankyou for having us and making our first experience at queens one to not forget, we had a brillaint time, and service was top quality and friendly! We had a new waitress serving us and you’d of thought she’d been there ages, she couldn’t do more for us! :) we will defo be back! Can’t fault it! Thankyou!
Basic food and service. Opening a tab means leaving your credit card behind the bar! Now I need to check if my card has not been cloned. Not recommended.
There was a handsome Italian waiter who took care of my friend and me...very attentive and well-mannered! Unfortunately I don't remember his name :/
I felt some of the staff were unhelpful and unwilling to make our corporate event a good one. Our drinks were disposed off whilst we were playing even though the bar offered to look after them for us, they were then rather hesitant to replace our drinks. The food order was wrong and we had wasted food, the staff were not listening. Overall it was satisfactory. (The staff were more interested in having private chats and socialising than attending to their customers).
Great food at a great price and location great too
The food was absolutely delicious - and some of the best American style food we’ve ever had in London. BUT it took an hour to get our meal from when we first sat down and we were told we only had 1/2 hour to eat and leave due to the no kids after 8pm rule. I understood the rule but we sat down at 6:30 and surely the onus should have been on the restaurant...is suspect it wasn’t a problem with the kitchen who h was super prompt when we ordered in the bowling area - but rather that we were shown to our table by the hostess and had to wait about 25 mins to event see our waitress for any orders. We didn’t even get the customary drinks orders in and
Music a bit loud. But portions very generous and excellent and friendly staff across the whole venue.
Maria who took my booking on the phone on the 15th March 2019 was extremely rude, she was not willing to sort the misunderstanding. She was laughing at me because I am not English. She was unwilling even to keep talking and complete booking. After her I will never recommend this service to any of my friends. In the bowling coffee shop we couldn’t buy coffees or teas, they don’t sell them there. Food for children wasn’t good. Expensive but a very bad service.
The drinks served in the bowling alley were far too expensive ! We were charged £9.90 for a glass of wine (incl 10% service). The drinks served in the restaurant were also far too expensive ! We were charged £7.00 for a gin, £2.00 for a tonic, then 10% on top for service, so a total of £9.90 for a G&T !
We love this place. The monkey fingers are to die for but the chilli cheese fries are the absolute highlight for me. But we missed the darts...
Waitress could have been more attentive. We had to find her to get extra drinks etc.
