About MEATliquor QW
MEATliquor started as a burger van (the MEATwagon) in a Peckham industrial estate carpark back in 2010. After its theft came #meateasy, a 3 month pop-up restaurant above an abandoned pub in New Cross, which opened in January 2011. The first permanent MEATliquor site (MEATliquor W1) opened 11/11/11 and the rest was history...
We’re located in Queens skate• dine• bowl, a two minute walk from Queensway station and five minutes from Bayswater station. We’ve got ten pin bowling (with lane service), ice skating, darts, table football, pool, vintage arcade games, diner and a full bar… a one-stop-fun-shop. Our £10 lunch deal is available weekdays until 5pm. Celebrating something big? Parties are our business. Hit us up for group bookings, whatever the size. We’re also very dog friendly.
Close to Hyde Park, Serpentine gallery, Royal Albert Hall and Portobello Market.
Eat in, takeaway or delivery via Deliveroo.
Had very poor service from the staff and when we asked to speak to a manager we were poorly treated. Anna one of your waiters was particularly rude. I have called and asked to speak to a manager to still resolve the issues but have been ignored.
The food provided was very good, it was a saving grace. However, our servers were clearly not made aware of what was agreed in our booking. The waitress had to constantly double check and come back. The sides also didn’t come out for a very long time, and we were 2 short which I then had to request to be brought. Then the drinks didn’t arrive until we had finished eating and again we were short. So I had to ask again for the rest to be brought. At this point we felt we had to mention that we had waited a long time, to which the waitress just simply said we should have everything we are gonna get. When we said it would be nice to just acknowledge and apologise about the wait, we merely got a dirty look from her and no apology or incentive offered. Very disappointed with the service, not likely to recommend.
Ordered drinks several times but nothing came. Decided not to eat at Meat Liquor and moved to another venue.
Monkey fingers here are one of my favourite things in the world and the house grog is dangerous but delicious
We had so much fun! And the food was great! Thank you!
Food was excellent and loved the bowling - the skating rink shut early and we didn't get a chance to skate much at all!! Felt very looked after, however.
I had booked the restaurant for 14 people after the Curling, for a project team night out. Despite booking the table weeks in advanced and being told that it was confirmed, the table, nor the booking, was available. I was told that they had released our table even though they no record of it - how does that work? Even receiving an email to review proves it was booked and the management at this MEATliquor is extremely poor. I was very lucky to be able to find a restaurant just a short work away that could cater for the large group.
The venue is great, but very dark. It’s hard to get a good photo of the kids at the party even with a flash.
We came bowling on Saturday at peak time. When booked I was told that we needed to eat. We thought this was ok as coming with children at dinner time. Bowling was fun and would recommend it. However when we came to dinner it was a different story. Firstly we couldn’t see the menu as too dark so had to use phone. Waiter who took our order didn’t appear interested and we had to repeat it a couple of time. When food arrived order was wrong and needed to be changed. We had kids meals and didn’t get the drink until we realised and had to ask. Food took a while to come and was ok but expensive for what it was. Would not come and eat there again.
It was a little disorganised and slow to clear the tables which is an area for improvement. Also I always had to chase the staff rather than the other way round.
We waited a long time to be served, it wasn't busy
Food was burned, order was inaccurate and very slow and the place was very dark. Service was patchy.
Feedback from our team was that there should have been fries instead of the uber large onion rings. Other than this the food was good
We had to wait for an hour for our food. It would have been good if we had some notice before we ordred.
I was really, really disappointed in the service we had on our visit! I booked for myself and 8 colleagues for a work party, as we had bowling booked in at 8:15pm so booked a table at 7:15pm - under the advice of the person on the phone. I asked specifically whether that was enough time to order and eat midweek at that time as was sure it wouldn't be and I was expressly told that was enough. Turns out it wasn't!! We ordered at 7:30pm and our food didn't come until 8:20pm, so we had to push our bowling lane back TWICE to compensate for the lateness of the food. I get that the food takes time and there was a lot of people there, but we had to constantly ask how long it would be and received not very confident responses. The staff were nice when we asked and we did get a complimentary drink to apologise, but by the time we ate and paid it was 9pm and two of our team had to leave as they didn't expect to be there that long! It just put a real downer on the whole night, and also we weren't told that you needed to book into ML if you wanted to bowl at peak times! That felt really cheeky to then call next day and say that the lane would have to be cancelled if we didn't eat there, so felt like our hand was forced. I really wasn't happy with that after paying in advance. Whether that is a ML thing or a Queensway bowling thing I don't know, but you should re-evaluate that process! On the whole had a bad experience that carried on through the night. Food was perfectly fine when it came, but we had to rush eat and that was no fun...... Disappointing.
The food came in good time, but was mostly cold to lukewarm on arrival. The burgers were average at best - a lot of people were excited to try the famous MeatLiquor burgers, but left underwhelmed - I think that was because they were cold. Also £20 pp was very steep, but on the other side there was too much food so a lot wasted. It would be better business if they reduced the price and the amount of food.
Over an hour wait for food. One dish missing and after asking 3 different waiters to be told "it's on its way" we were then told it had been forgotten and as the kitchen is busy it will take them 20mins to cook it. Also took over 10mins from when we ordered our drinks to receive them
Excellent food for a kids party. Atmosphere wasn't perfect but the staff were great and really helpful
Nice food, however the IPA beer we wanted wasn't available and neither was one of the hot dogs. We then waited 45 minutes for our drinks order (2 beers and 2 of the same cocktail) even though we chased them up with the server twice. Food took 1 hour to arrive. Desperately slow service which really let down the whole experience.
The whole evening was great from food to service thanks to your team
It was an enjoyable meal and I enjoyed the cocktails. I was disappointed that the hotdog I wanted wasn’t available, and that I only learnt this on placing my order. The food was tasty, if very unhealthy, but I did find both the food and drinks to be overpriced. The atmosphere wasn’t bad, our table of adults was placed between children’s parties which were noticeable! Service was ok, I couldn’t help noticing how difficult it was to catch a waiter’s eye even when a few were standing by the front desk apparently waiting for the next task. Once summoned, the servers were all polite, cheerful and happy to help. Overall, not a place I’d complain about, but not one I’d recommend wholeheartedly either!
Food was pretty good, as at all of the MEAT venues. Service here was pretty poor though - waited 20 minutes for our drinks, which arrived after our food, but only after we'd asked after their whereabouts. Was pretty difficult to get attention for another order too, else we might have had more to eat / drink.
Booked a package for Dine & Bowl (Min of 5), bowling was straight forward, but staffs are not being helpful or volunteer to provide information. The lighting is quite dimmed in the alley area, looking for a staffs for any information, would be a challenge. Ordered 5 juices drinks, didn't provide any straws. Asked for straws, she brought 3 straws for 5 people. Went for the pre-booked meal with burgers & fries, drinks can order at the table. No waiter/waitress offer to help or give menu. When finally a waitress came & taking drinks order, half way through, she disappeared and a guy turn up, and asked for the remaining order, presumably, all taken and realised the waiter is only taking the last 2 drinks orders. ! When the foods are arrived, came with a big tray, waitress just left the whole tray on the table without explaining which burger is which, as I have ordered a chilli one for myself, the kids have 2 types of different burgers. Not knowing which, asked a waiter to explained and still I have to serve the kids from the tray! The waiter still gives the wrong info! One of the kid had my chilli and ruined his appetited. The fries was given for at least 10 person. The Mango & Apple juice was the smallest cartoon pack from the supermarket type. The whole experience were not great, I am sure Queens can do better after All Stars Lane has moved out from this area. Maybe they would think that no competition anyway, why bother!! Sat: 17th Nov
Booking was a painful experience. Unable to accept booking unless we completed excel spreadsheet weeks in advance. When order arrived it was wrong. Staff in resturant were helpful but whole experience meant we will not return
Great venue overall, but staff could be friendlier and monkey fingers were a bit soggy compared to Brixton Meatliqour...
