About MEATliquor Brixton
MEATliquor started as a burger van (the MEATwagon) in a Peckham industrial estate carpark back in 2010. After its theft came #meateasy, a 3 month pop-up restaurant above an abandoned pub in New Cross, which opened in January 2011. The first permanent MEATliquor site (MEATliquor W1) opened 11/11/11 and the rest was history….
MEAT and liquor (as the name suggests) are our thing, but we’re not just burgers and booze… Expect MEAT (beef, chicken, veggie, vegan), dogs, wings and rings and fries for carnivores, omnivores & herbivores. The bar offers plenty of classic cocktails with a healthy measure of our signature cocktails, craft beers, sodas and shakes thrown in too.
CHICKENliquor is the little sister of the MEATliquor group. Serving pimped up chicken and the MEATliquor classic cocktails in Market Row Brixton. Set in a casual, laid back restaurant over two floors with friendly, knowledgeable staff, what more could you want?
Large parties are welcome, call 02072740939 for details.
Absolutely delicious. Monkey fingers were life changing.
Great staff. Great playlist
Honestly - the service was incredible, and the food was so good. Have been before and was good but everything this time was exceptional. Will be back again!
The food and drinks were amazing and we definitely made the most of happy hour - the only issue was that the booking page didn’t work on my mobile it had to be done on a laptop, but other than that a great experience!
We thought the burgers weren't worth the money, mine in particular came overcooked and the bun did not feel very fresh. They also came on one big plate which we thought can get fairly messy without any side plates. Apart from the food we also didn't think the service was great. We waited over 30min for our food and though their menu states it might take more than 20min for the food to get delivered "as it is fresh to order" I still think 20-30min is is an unreasonable time to wait in a fairly non-busy restaurant. Many other burger restaurants also do it "fresh to order" but manage to deliver the food in less than 20min in a much busier restaurant (talking from experience). To top it up we also felt rushed and I do not think it's appropriate to ask if you'd like the bill straight after the plates are cleared, especially considering we waited for over 30min for the food. The only good thing I can point out is the atmosphere - it felt like the staff enjoyed working there and were having fun which is a rare sight these days. Nevertheless, I highly doubt we will be back.
It was suck a cool and quirky atmosphere I loved it the food was amazing. It was just all fantastic.
We had to wait for over an hour for food, which was mediocre. The burgers were quite good, the hot dog was okay but the chips were over-cooked. The service was fine but nobody apologised for the delay or really came to check on how we were doing/if we wanted any drinks while we waited. We were on a table around the corner and I think we just got forgotten about to be honest. I also had to stand up and start moving the table and chairs around so that the neighbouring shop-owner (whose shop our table was basically up against) could close his shutter. Unfortunately, we were all quite disappointed and I won't be in a hurry back.
Great food and cocktails from friendly and helpful staff
Manager Eloise was BRILLIANT. Very impressed by customer service and willingness to go above and beyond for the customer.
Loved the chilli cheese fries!
Food was good but the service was slow and wait staff were inattentive, had to leave the table to ask for drinks/the bill as our table was being ignored. We also asked for a box to put leftovers in and had to ask three times before asking a different member of staff to get it
An excellent evening, with friendly welcoming staff and great food. Will definitely be coming back!
I always love MeatLiquor food but this last visit was particular special as I was celebrating my birthday. Once again it did not disappoint however, Dylan went above and beyond to make my night extra special and I’m very appreciative of that.
Yummy in my tummy.
I loved everything about this place. Its in London, so its dear, but not so much that it hurts your feelings. I wished that the waitress had told us about the Dead Hippie fries - they are VAST and super loaded, in truth, a meal unto its own. Waaaaayy too much (and too rich) for me. In the future I might ask for the toppings on the side... Having said all that, we went there with empty stomachs and eyes the size of saucers - and we had some of everything!!! It was all great!! Everything it said on the tin, it was. The cocktails were bloody good of course Brixton is a vibe. Thanks for having us guys!!!
Tastiest burger and chips ive ever had, well worth a visit!
The lighting was just a little to dark.
Love CL and all MEATLIQUOR venues!
Amazing wings. Service was a little slow but it was packed so understandable. Nice space in Brixton market.
We were a party of 8 people aged betweeen 23 to 29 years. The food was great. The cocktails were amazing. The service was incredibly slow although the waiters were lovely (but you could tell they were stressed poor things). The music was too loud and we couldn't hear each other and had to speak really loud. You need to sort the music volume out. Can't be going somewhere to eat with a party and not being able to hear each other!
