Waitress was very friendly & helpful. Barramundi was delicious but didn't need zucchini fritter.
Very disappointed from the moment we walked in for our special night. No one at receptipn or restaurant desk or even behind the bar. When barman came out he could not recommend anything as he does not drink ! Get to our table & give our order only to be told no chicken left. There is only 2 other people in restaurant & it is 7pm So I order lamb but have to send it back as it was totally raw & bleeding all over my plate. I get a new one but it is so tough I cannot eat it. My husband had pork belly steamed buns & it was 3/4 fat. Very disappointed indeed.
Went to restaurant on our anniversary. They looked after us very well. Beautiful food, great service and a number of special extras for our wedding anniversary. Highly recommended.
It has been 10 years since I've eaten at McMahons Restaurant as I have been living out of Brisbane for that time. I was shocked to see the gorgeous Restaurant that I knew is now an empty functions room and we now have to eat in a "hole in the wall" overlooking the driveway. REALLY!! So disappointed at not being able to sit and look out to the courtyard, greenery and water feature after telling my guests how lovely it was (in the past). I was appalled at the condition of that area - especially the chairs. The leather was peeling and flaking off the seats and the air-conditioning was at freezing point. The ONLY restaurant staff member on duty was not there to greet us even though we waited sometime to be seated. So we sat ourselves down at a "reserved table" hoping it was ours. The young man there was polite and helpful when he did come but he was doing everything including delivering a breakfast on a tray somewhere. We loved that we could park in the driveway and the food was really tasty for a reasonable price. This was all after I phoned on 7 December to get the breakfast menu emailed to me as it was showing only gobblegook on the website when I clicked on it. That call went unanswered - it rang out. Not a good start. I called again on 11 December and finally received the menu that day. You cannot run an efficient business without enough staff and for the telephone not to be answered if unforgivable! One staff member on reception and one in a restaurant is not enough because customer service suffers. The question is - would I go back again. Not until the Restaurant is returned to the original location (that whole area needs a total makeover) AND double the current staffing levels. It is for those reasons I will not return to the Sebel in Alice Street Brisbane again.
Food was average- nothing special or exciting. Chairs in the restaurant were old and weathered- needs upgrading
I like McMahons because it is convenient to where I work. I have had lunch here twice in the last fortnight . The first, time I'm not sure what happened but it took forever for our meals to arrive. The service staff were apologetic and offered a complimentary drink. The food was ok. The second time there were no problems. Good service, good food and pleasant staff.
Friendly service; lovely food
A pretty disappointing experience to be honest. I reserved a table for 5. But there was no table for 5 waiting for us. Waitress instructed me to an extra drag a chair from a nearby table. My husband ordered a beer from the menu which was not available. He chose a 2nd beer, which was also not available. I chose a glass of Rose which was also out of stock. Ambience was terrible. No napkins (just paper serviettes) or table cloth. The lunch menu was disappointing - not much to chose from. I was given 2 different menus (I checked with the waitress who told me one of them was old and I had it by mistake). The prices were that of an expensive restaurant, but nothing about our experience matched the expectations of an expensive restaurant. The waitress, while very nice, was obviously new and hadn't been given much (if any) training. She had to check everything with the chef (maybe 4 or 5 different questions we had). Ordered 1 kids meal, which got "forgotten" and came out 5 minutes after our meals. You really need to replace the chairs - the white plastic vinyl is flaking off - stuck to my legs and was all over the floor. I have no idea how you had good reviews on dimmi! We only visited because of Accor membership, but certainly wouldn't bother going back sorry.
When I arrived there was no one at the front counter. Two staff served a table in front of me and just walked off. I was forced to go over to the bar and was waiting whilst the barman served someone. One of the staff walked past so l got her attention and went to the counter. I explained that I had been waiting and she and the bar man had ignored me, and she was a little curt (no apology, spoke in a clipped voice). Very poor service to start. They took a long time to take our order(only 3 other tables) but were quick with the meals, drinks etc. when we were ready to leave, there was no one around. I rang the bell on the bar twice until someone came over from the reception. Overall service was poor.

We never had High tea before, and booking with McMahon was great. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, the service. Girls loved it!!!!We will do it again. Great experience. Thank you!!!
The food was unfortunately very disappointing. The rib eye I ordered was very tough and resembled a budget cut of meat from a local supermarket. The shoulder of lamb my wife ordered was dry and very uninspiring. I did expect a lot more from your type of establishment.

Really great food in a nice quiet location. Once extra staff came to assist it was a perfect lunch.
Because of the busy season with X-Mas parties, my boss and i booked early and were the first table seated for the night. Meanwhile the staff were busy seating a 60 person party from QUT whcih may of had some influence on our service We ordered 3 wines off the menu. All of these 3 were unavailable. We ordered 1 beer which was not available also. We were told to make our order before the larger private party ordered. This felt as though we were being hurriedly put through the whole dining process. We were even forgotten about by our waiter and a second waiter had to provide us service. Overall, very disappointed and would advise others to stay away.
We went to Mc Mahon restaurant for breakfast on Australia day. We ordered 6 meals from the limited menu, after 45 minutes wait only 5 meals were served, another 15 minutes wait and nothing happened, just after I asked the waitress, she went into the kitchen and returned to inform me that they have run out of salmon!!! and offered to change the order with bacon!!! by that time everyone else on the table had finished their meals so i had to cancel my order. I really expected someone to come to our table and apologies for what happened, no one showed up! I had to ask for the manager till the waitress reluctantly showed me his room. I received 30% discount on my bill after talking with the manager but ended up not having breakfast and being embarrassed for my poor choice of restaurant. I'm Accor Plus member and this is the only membership that I paid for as all of my other memberships with hotel chains like Marriott, Priority hotel reward, etc are free charge but I feel that I receive better value from my free memberships. I regret signing up with Accor Plus as the main reason I signed up was for the discount for restaurants and now I'm so disappointed with the service I received in McMahon that I'm not going to risk getting embarrassed again for choosing another Accor restaurant.
Beautiful food with attentive service.
I've been 3 times in 4 weeks to McMahons and enjoyed the food every time. My only criticism is the pace of the service for a lunch time. Service people are very friendly and helpful; its just the odd delays in meals. Aside from that I have enjoyed my dining experiences and will be back.
It was excellent. We were all finding it hard to return to work afterwards.
