About McGonagall's Steakhouse and Restaurant
A LITTLE HISTORY....
William Topaz McGonagall was a Scottish Poet famous in the late 1800’s. He wrote over 200 Poems during his lifetime, and is notoriously known to have written some of the worst in literary history! His most famous poem was written in praise of a banquet which he attended in Inverness in 1894, to which the following lines admiring Inverness, are from:
Oh, magnificent city of Inverness,
And your beautiful river, I must confess,
With it’s lovely scenery on each side,
Would be good for ones health there to reside.
And in praise of them I must say
I never received better treatment in my day,
Than I received from my admirers in Bonnie Inverness.
This, upon my soul and conscience, I do confess.
