Excellent service food and atmosphere for a special occasion
Thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea, my husband really liked the gentleman’s afternoon tea. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Expensive small sandwich in conservatory. Afternoon tea was lovely though
Beautiful meal although we both found the menu choices a bit limited, but that is down to our personal likes/dislikes. Service was impeccable and the surroundings just breathtaking.
We have stayed and dined here numerous times and have never been anything but delighted.
Exemplary staff as always, our food was amazing
Thank you for attending to my request for a window table. It really made the day for our Australian guests.
Thank you for a lovely stay. We enjoyed dinner on the two nights we stayed and the service was excellent. Our breakfast experience was not as good with our orders failing to arrive making us give up and simply eat from the buffet bar. We didn't even get our tea and coffee. But the room was busy and I'm sure we were simply forgotten in the large number of people to be served. The cocktail made by one of your bar staff was delightful.
The food was of excellent quality and good value, however, the menu was quite limited and a few more choices would have been good. The vegetarian options were very limited, so some additional choices there would be nice. We had quite a lengthy wait for our starters to arrive, but overall the service was excellent, the staff were pleasant, helpful and very attentive. We look forward to the next visit!
The food was fantastic and the setting was lovely. We stayed a year to the day before our wedding and had a great evening
A very enjoyable evening with excellent food and service, including the bouche amuse which was a nice touch, and a lovely round table for my party
Delicious meal in delightful surroundings. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. This was our second visit and we will return.
Afternoon tea was perfect might be a good idea to serve on the lawn when the sun is shinning
Service and food amazing
Service was exceptional, friendly and professional staff, food was perfect too
Fabulous venue for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. Had a wonderful day 2nd May 2015 and have enjoyed visiting ever since.
Our dining experience in The Library Room was first class. The choice of food on the menu was minimal but not overwhelming as it can be in other restaurants. The standard of food upon serving was both tasty & well presented. Only downside with evening meals & breakfast was the temperature of the food. Could of been warmer. Service was prompt & very polite. We were made to feel very welcome from all the staff, in particular Razvan who always had a smile. Overall a great experience & we will definitely be back.
Would've given 5 stars for food and drink, food was beautiful but £35 for a bottle of prosecco is a bit steep in my opinion,I know it's not the Nags Head but still expensive.Other than that, lovely.
Food was delicious and the service was great. Would highly recommend. Thank you very much
Stunning location Amazing food Staff very attentive and helpful
One of our fellow travellers said this was the nicest all round dining experience he had ever had. Your Staff are exceptional.
Lovely setting but we were a little disappointed with the standard and quality of some of the food. Starters were ok although I personally thought the lobster cocktail had very little flavour. My husband choose the beef 3 ways for his main and the rump part was a very poor quality cut. I had the halibut which was very nice apart from the undercooked and dense flatbreads. Three stars but with a little more attention to detail this could have been a good 4-5 star review.
Our meal experience was good the food was delicious and the service faultless. My only criticism would be we felt our table for 2 was a little near our neighbours on either side and because of the serene atmosphere felt a little awkward to talk to each other at first, however the table we were seated at for breakfast was perfect, we had fantastic service throughout our stay at matfen hall. Thank you
