About Masons Restaurant Bar
Masons Restaurant offers local produce with a world influence, cooking some of the best ingredients from across the British Isles wrapped in exotic flavours from around the globe. The bar boasts an extensive wine list offering variety & value alongside some of the best and up-and-coming vineyards across the UK. This is joined by a rotating Coravin list for Fine Wines by the glass. Additionally, there’s a beer and spirit list to tickle everyone fancy, flaunting some rare and hard to find brands and expressions.
We visited for the first time with Manc Confidential vouchers to try Masons; at half price the meal was obviously excellent value but we agreed we would visit again and pay full price due to the quality of the food, the interesting (and delicious) menu choices and the beautiful building and decor. The service was also very pleasant and professional without being too formal. A very good addition to Manchester’s eateries and bars which offers something a bit special in both menu and venue.
The Sunday lunch was delicious and very good value for money. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable
Went early Sunday evening not many people in but could imagine it is great on a Saturday night... cool music from my era 😎
Great evening and would definitely visit again
Asked for a booth for my mother’s birthday, didn’t get one which was disappointing as they were the best seats in the house. We got a dark dingy table in the back of the restaurant. Photos looked poor because of the seating. The martinis and cocktails were tasty, started were okay, fish & chips and the scallops were average but the Arichini balls were not good, weird & unpleasant taste and the chilles in it just didn’t work. The mains were a different story, the beef fillet was amazing as was the lamb. The mains are easily as good as anything in the restaurants that we have in London. Service was very good, the surprise for my mum was appreciated and greatly welcomed, the dessert was pretty good. Overall, despite the starters and poor seating, we had a fairly pleasant evening. The staff were good throughout the evening.
I feel slightly lost as a person after giving a full five stars for each of the areas of feedback above; my inner cynic tells me it's a score which should be unattainable... but having given it some thought, I honestly can't fault anything. More than that, my experience of Masons left me and my girlfriend feeling on top of the world. Though I am sure your staff were as attentive to your other guests throughout the night, you somehow managed to make us both feel like the most special people in the room. Every dish that came was absolutely delicious to boot. My only regret for choosing Masons for my girlfriends birthday meal, is knowing we can't dine here for every meal. (Not that we won't try!)
Lamb raw and chicken dry. No atmosphere as we couldn't hear ourselves talk over the waiters at the bar laughing. The only good thing was our server as he tried his best with all matters. Carpaccio wasn't great as was swimming in juices from mushrooms which should have been drained.
Was disappointed to find that the entire menu had changed as opposed to say 50-60% of the items. The lack of any green veg on the new sides was particularly disappointing as salad doesn’t work with every meal. That being said some of the items did look good. Service was excellent as usual.
An excellent restaurant. Food is delicious and in a great setting. Attentive staff who can't do enough for you. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyable dining experience! Food and drink lovely and reasonably priced, wonderfully attentive staff and a great atmosphere, will definitely return!
Attended with my friend to celebrate my birthday. Had a fabulous meal with excellent service.
Unfortunately rather than just having one waiter we appeared to have two and one was particularly attentive. This meant that rather than being able to chat and enjoy the meal, we were constantly being asked whether everything was ok. However the food, atmosphere and price were all great.. Will definitely be coming again
One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to in Manchester. Service was very good & the food was amazing. Was given a lovely booth seating in the corner of the room for a special occassion. Staff were friendly & informative. Lovely atmosphere, not too loud or busy. I would come back again in future.
Excellent all round
Great service on Saturday night. Portion sizes and the quality of the food was the best!
Excellent food and service . New menu a real hit !
Amazing building and great menu choice.
Excellent hideaway from bustle of Manchester
Do not miss out - fabulous team here delivering on all fronts! Highly recommend that you dine here!
I liked everything about this restaurant. I would like to sample it in the evening with the more extensive menu.
Great food, wonderful Sunday lunch
Very attentive service from the moment we entered until the moment we left.
Our table was booked for 9pm but we weren't seated until 9.45 and didn't receive our starters until 10.15pm. All the staff were very apologetic and appreciative of the fact we had to wait for so long and adjustments were made to the bill to compensate, which was a positive gesture. The restaurant looks fantastic, food and drink was superb and there was a great atmosphere, we would happily return if we knew the service would be as it should be.
Another fantastic night .. thanks guys
Chairs were a little uncomfortable on my back and I’m only 6 foot. Bit too low for me!
