About Mariner Restaurant at Crowne Plaza Glasgow
The safety and well-being of our guests and colleagues is our top priority, we have implemented new hygiene procedures above and beyond our standard protocols, as well as social distancing measures, in line with government and public health advice. We've also introduced the IHG Clean Promise giving you the reassurance you need.
Located on the River Clyde, The Mariner Restaurant
houses one of the most exciting places to dine in Finnieston.
The food we offer is delicious and exciting, thanks to our fabulous Executive Chef. Whether you opt for the buttermilk breaded chicken fillet with macaroni cheese or the more traditional gourmet beef burger, all are served with great attention to detail and in a fabulous setting.
Whatever the reason, there’s no better place to dine. Treat someone you love to an intimate meal for two or visit with friends and family for a special occasion.
Food was delicious and the staff weee outstanding definitely our favourite Sunday roast, wouldnt hesitate recommending it to others
Lovely meal and service. Great value for money. Well spread out for social distancing. Will return soon hopefully.
Lovely time away after a long time locked down . Service always second to non been here numerous times and will again ,
As a regular visitor to the hotel and a member of the Leisure Club I was disappointed that the waitress never gave me my discount on our lunch... After notifying her I was a member she immediately changed it and then.I paid a discounted price but the problem was I had the original and the discount price taken off my bank account right away but I have to wait 5 days for it to go into my bank account and I. needed that extra cash as I’m traveling to England tomorrow so dissatisfied as the staff should be asking customers if they have membership s with the hotel??
Can’t fault the service you could tell the staff where so glad to be back after lockdown ! However first week with restrictions lifted and no beer I asked for and the prices are way too high for the quality on offer ! Sat outside and have too say the space isn’t being utislised to its full advantage no umbrellas no heaters and if you are going to charge 4 star plus prices for food and beverages there is a minimum expectation! Almost 15 pounds for a burger is a disgrace based on the quality however having a captured market is obviously inspiring the limited menu and the pricing!! I’ve been a massive fan if he crowne plaza however food is medioca at best and I assume this is based on knowing they have lots of custom normally via concerts this hotel used to be a place of quality and whilst cosmetically it still looks fabulous and the staff where very attentive the quality of drinks On offer and the food of poor quality along with the drink prices well above expectation leave me with no other options than to leave my rating if you ever need to buy a cider and a wine and pay almost 13 pounds for The privilege I would say go somewhere where else where the outdoor space and bar match The price tag !!! Poor show crowne plaza I expect more
Lovely return to dining experience from lockdown! Staff were welcoming and helpful. Service was brilliant and the food itself was really high standard. The restaurant itself is also reassuringly spacious and comfortable to sit in.
Staff were picking and choosing who to talk to and hardly come on our table.not sure why but I could hear them asking other customers if they're OK,cleaned their table after starters but ours was left till we left.staff gave their favourite customers some goodies e.g biscuits but nothing for us and my 7 year old daughter were asking but I didn't know any good words to say.i was very disappointed because I am actually a ihg member I always book and stays over different crowne plaza and eat in their restaurants this is the first time I was made to feel different
Shame for the reduced menu but it is entirely understandable due to the circumstances. I hope to visit again when the full menu is back on in better times!
The Sunday Roast dinner was excellent once again however if I was being critical the gravy was very thin and lacking in taste
Friendly staff and a very quick service. Value for money.
Another great day at the Crowne, first class for everything. Best hotel in Scotland.
The two gentlemen serving were very good,. The food for the afternoon tea was very tasty and was freshly prepared. There was a good variety of sandwiches and cakes.
Cakes were lovely but could’ve done with a few more sandwiches, bit disappointed there was no prosecco but understand following the government’s guidelines. Thought it was a bit cheeky to ask diners to pay for parking to
First class service- could not be faulted at all. Great VFM for an afternoon tea. Will definitely be back. Waiter couldn’t have been more obliging.
Wonderful service at a very difficult time for every business but the Mariner Restaurant hasn't let standards slip, the food was marvelous and the Covid 19 proof service was first class. I look forward to returning at the first opportunity.
Extremely friendly and professional staff handling pressure well.
We had afternoon tea in the restaurant and it was lovely. The sandwiches were delish, As was the wee cakes and the scones. Ross who checked in on us was lovely and made sure everything was alright for us, Which it was! This is our second time having afternoon tea at Crowne Plaza and will definitely be back again.
Staff friendly an efficient.
Great value and restaurant well set out for social distancing.
Really slow service. Sandwiches were stale. Breakfast ok however we have stayed in various hotels in Glasgow during covid and cannot believe everyone was putting their hands in to take the cutlery as normal everywhere else they have been wrapped in fact even the tv remote was wrapped elsewhere. Paid for three course meal however could only get 6.30pm we didn’t finish afternoon tea until 4.40 therefore opted for room service food was poor. Should have received two glasses of prosecco they never arrived although we were charged an extra £18 at check out. Couldn’t be bothered asking why paid up and left. We also were advised whilst checking in there was no booking. We had to show itison voucher luckily there was a room available although in hindsight with the poor service and quality of food maybe we would have been better off going elsewhere. We certainly won’t be back.
Really enjoyed afternoon tea. Felt safe, very clean and all staff wearing masks. Some other customers were not however. Lovely selection of food and refillable tea/coffee. They substituted fizz for beer which my boyfriend appreciated. Few tables in so some atmosphere without feeling too close to folk. Even parking reasonable, £2 for 2 hours. Very well done everyone.
