About Man O' War Vineyards
Take a trip to the wonderful Waiheke Island and head straight to one of the island’s best local gems. Man O’ War sits on the upper east coast of Waiheke, catching the morning rays and staying sunny during your visit. Perched right on the water, Man O’War is perfect for a day-long affair as you go from eating to swimming to wine tasting to an amazing roast. Test-flight their internationally renowned Man O' War wines while grazing on pizzas, platter boards, and sharing plates. Don’t forget to pick up a bottle to take home!
A great day out thanks
The food is very basic compared to other wineries. The venue is good due to its natural beauty rather than any investment in the character and uniqueness devoted by the owners. A pleasant venue.
Best Christmas function to date! Thank you. Spectacular location, delicious food, friendly staff. We will definitely be back.
The Platter that we had was very disappointing for the money - an enamel dish with some tired shredded vegetables !!!! And the green tahini was missing from the platter. The wait staff were not attentive and it was difficult to try and catch anyones attention We have been to Man o War a few times and quite enjoyed it but unfortunately today it was a pretty ordinary experience
Really enjoyed our afternoon, perfect spot for kids to run around. Would have loved a sparkling wine on the list but thanks for the friendly service, we’ll be back again and again
Location amazing - disappointed with the wine we only liked one and we are wine drinkers. We bought two bottles at a cost of $60 but still had to pay for one wine tasting at $10! While we were tasting the staff placed a drunken men’s group next to us even though there was plenty of space at the we asked to move. Not quite the ambience listening to foul language. We moved but there was a second men’s group that were better than the first but also drunk. Food was nice but not good value - we ordered Man o War plaster all good if you like Pumpkin! Overall disappointed and it had been highly recommended!
Staff lacking... didn’t know fish of the day, or how it was cooked ( or not in this instance). Beer arrived in can, no glass etcetc
Great food and location- really enjoyed our time at Man o War
Absolutely wonderful afternoon having lunch. Lovely atmosphere in a stunning location. Brilliant pizza and fries and the rose was divine
Beautiful setting, amazing food and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Glorious location for a relaxed lunch. Helpful, pleasant service. A very generousl lunch
Fantastic venue meh a little limited but good
Great food and wine at the best scenic place . Great vibe and service!
Your no booking policy for labour weekend (I had booked months in advance which was honoured thank you) felt like pure greed. Your waiting staff we’re so completely overwhelmed that as a GP I was actually concerned for their physical well-being. I was over-charged and asked that it got reimbursed to be used as a tip - they deserved a whole lot more than that.
Overall it was a very good experience and we would love to return one day. However, upon returning home, I was disappointed to find that I could purchase your wine at a significantly lower price at the supermarket. I would expect a cellar door to be more competitively priced, given the wine is produced on site. Secondly, although the food was excellent, $12 for 2 slices of bread and a small amount of oil is poor value for money and seemed a shameless attempt to rip off your customers. You could easily double the amount on the plate and still retain an extremely healthy margin.
Man o War is simply stunning. A treat everytime, see you again soon.
Great location almost on the water. Loved the board/platter. Bit of a drive to get there but we’ll worth it. The MoW bus (and driver) is excellent value and lots of fun.
Such a lovely experience!
another great lunch at our favourite Waiheke lunch spot. Thank you.
Awesome day out. Thanks
We had an amazing Sunday Lunch in June and came back with friends to experience awesome food, wine, service and location. Sadly the menu was limited and the service was below par. Such a pity as it’s an amazing location.
A fantastic spot right on the edge of the sea with friendly staff and a busy lunchtime vibe on a Sunday lunchtime. It certainly paid to book in advance.
