About Man O' War Vineyards
Take a trip to the wonderful Waiheke Island and head straight to one of the island’s best local gems. Man O’ War sits on the upper east coast of Waiheke, catching the morning rays and staying sunny during your visit. Perched right on the water, Man O’War is perfect for a day-long affair as you go from eating to swimming to wine tasting to an amazing roast. Test-flight their internationally renowned Man O' War wines while grazing on pizzas, platter boards, and sharing plates. Don’t forget to pick up a bottle to take home!
Your no booking policy for labour weekend (I had booked months in advance which was honoured thank you) felt like pure greed. Your waiting staff we’re so completely overwhelmed that as a GP I was actually concerned for their physical well-being. I was over-charged and asked that it got reimbursed to be used as a tip - they deserved a whole lot more than that.
Overall it was a very good experience and we would love to return one day. However, upon returning home, I was disappointed to find that I could purchase your wine at a significantly lower price at the supermarket. I would expect a cellar door to be more competitively priced, given the wine is produced on site. Secondly, although the food was excellent, $12 for 2 slices of bread and a small amount of oil is poor value for money and seemed a shameless attempt to rip off your customers. You could easily double the amount on the plate and still retain an extremely healthy margin.
Man o War is simply stunning. A treat everytime, see you again soon.
Great location almost on the water. Loved the board/platter. Bit of a drive to get there but we’ll worth it. The MoW bus (and driver) is excellent value and lots of fun.
Such a lovely experience!
another great lunch at our favourite Waiheke lunch spot. Thank you.
Awesome day out. Thanks
We had an amazing Sunday Lunch in June and came back with friends to experience awesome food, wine, service and location. Sadly the menu was limited and the service was below par. Such a pity as it’s an amazing location.
A fantastic spot right on the edge of the sea with friendly staff and a busy lunchtime vibe on a Sunday lunchtime. It certainly paid to book in advance.
Wonderful location, great service and an extraordinarily relaxing atmosphere!
Lovely day spent in a lovely setting. Would love to have topped our day of with expresso coffee flat white but not available. Guess we have to have another wine. Will definitely be back:)
Kitchen was extremely busy so there was a long delay in getting the food and not all meals arrived together, but overall the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a stunning day so we where happy to relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings.
Absolutely amazing winery. Great staff, great wine and great food. Ambience is amazing. Will definitely be back. Thanks for helping celebrate my partners 60th birthday.
Great food and atmosphere on a glorious sunny afternoon - perfect environment.
Beautiful day at Man O War. Thank you!
Great team there, our waitress was fantastic and the food did not disappoint
Booked online for inside table and arrived to be seated at an outside table... Had to call staff over to order after being seated by staff at our booked table for 15 minutes without any menus, Immediately ordered wine tasters. Wine tasters arrived but no food. Assumed it would be after tasters - fair enough. Finished tasting, no food. Asked to be chased up, eventually food turned up. Forgot 2 x fries. Then reminded staff, offered free desert (very grateful) received one of the two fries. The realised no sourdough bread on the board, was bought out when we had nearly finished. When went to pay realised that we had actually been charged for two fries, so was on the ticket? What is going on? Bill adjusted correctly. Food was nice, wine was nice but the effort from the waitress for tasting notes was poor. Wouldn’t recommend overall. Terrible service.
Hi, The website was not fully informative when organising the bus pick up relative to table bookings. I tried three times to phone to clarify arrangements and it went straight to answer phone. However we did go and the booking was adjusted to the arrival time and we did enjoy our day.
Great for light lunch and a few nice wines. Even gets a pod of orca if you are lucky!
We had a 330Pm booking and from the moment we came in it felt like we were a burden to the wait staff...they must have had a long busy day. There was zero explain action from the waitstaff on what was on offer just a couple of menus slapped on the table. Food was very slow to arrive with no warning from the staff that it would be long wait. Food and wine was great once it arrived....else we were just so hungry we couldn’t tell. If your staff couldn’t be bothered with 330 bookings you need to remove the time slot from your online booking.
Had a lovely afternoon, staff were really friendly and helpful.
The negative for service was not strictly following 1 server.
Nice experience and staff ... great spot
Such a great day out. The bus option is fantastic, very comfy vehicle and the driver was awesome - great stories. I comment all the staff at the property especially in the light that it was the first day back after a refurbishment break. Totally happy with the experience. Would definitely go again. Well done
Even though there was a problem with a dish not turning up. There was an instant apology and the dish soon appeared with a complimentary dish. The women who served us was lovely. The atmosphere was fantastic
