About MAI THAI WIMBLEDON
Mai Thai Restaurant has been serving home-cooked Thai food for the past 34 years, still run by the same family. In Thailand food is something that is to be shared amongst friends and family so cooking up a delicious meal is all the more important.
So, if you are looking for a cosy night out accompanied by traditional Thai cooking then please don't forget to come and visit us as our experienced chefs have filled up the menu with Thailands most popular dishes. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Very expensive for what it was, I wouldn’t go back as it wasn’t value for the money paid.
A lovely dinner
Lovely food. Grumpy waitress
In the current climate we are trying to support local restaurants. So we decided to head here as haven't previously. The service was awful. The waitress was immediately rude and made us feel uncomfortable throughout. From taking ages to ask if we would like a drink (over 20 minutes) to having to ask for service. We are not impatient... The restaurant was very quiet... The food was average at best and we were rushing to eat as the service was so poor it made us feel uncomfortable and we just wanted to get out of there. It's a shame as we could have enjoyed our evening at a place that would have appreciated us! We have been to other local restaurants who have really appreciated the custom but here it was unfortunately down right rude and we won't be returning. Poor service can really ruin an evening and that's a shame for Mai Thai
Excellent menu. Delicious food. Very well presented. Good service. Will be back.
The service was awful. Food atmosphere has always been great but all the waiteress and waitiors cared about is the fact that they wanted the table back at xyz time. They did not care to ask how the food was etc.
Nice dinner out with friends
The food was ok - nothing particularly different versus other Thai restaurants and unfortunately the dishes were small and expensive. The atmosphere was good to begin with but by 9pm when it was quieter, the music had been turned off (I think as a way to get us to leave earlier). The service was very poor - no smiling, gave us the bill whilst we were eating desserts despite the fact the place shut in half an hour. I didn’t feel very welcome and wouldn’t make an effort to return. It was ok - but nothing special.
As before, ıt was an excellent experience.
Nice place. I wouls recommend lunch express menu if you're not that starving
Absolutely delicious food, cannot wait to go back.
Lovely evening - despite COVID restrictions - good food and great service
The first of hopefully many visits for us. The food and service was excellent, with really friendly and professional staff. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Delicious food and very good service.
Lovely staff, great authentic food and good wine Could do with some music
Always love coming to Mai Thai and we're never disappointed!
We have been coming to Mai Thai for 10+ years & have never been disappointed. Fabulous food, great value & service.
Gorgeous lunch, wonderful food and efficient and friendly service. Thank you!
Always a great meal at Mai Thai, will be going back, again.
Great service and ambiance. Tasty food. It’s one of your favourite Thai restaurants in the area.
Nice ambiance with friendly table service
We have been coming here for years and have always been very happy. Unfortunately this time we were somewhat disappointed. Our soup Tom Jued wasn't the best this time, it lacked flavours. The fishcakes were delicious! Main course... the rice portion was ridiculously small! Jungle curry ok but still wasn't the same. Noodles were good. Finally the Teeping Tiger was terrible!! We should have sent it back but my partner was hungry and will eat anything. It was terribly thin, pale in colour and overcooked, it was like a piece of leather!! The quality of the meat was poor, gristly and chewy. The worst Weeping Tiger I've ever had!...also the presentation was awful!.. and it cost £15!!! We should have said something but we were a drinking and didn't want to make a scene in front of the other diners. Our bill was nearly £100!! The food certainly didn't replicate that price! We will come again in a few months maybe and see if you are back on track.
As always I think the restaurant, is one of the best in Wimbledon, the choice of food excellent will be coming back soon
