The ultra environmental and sustainable Mains of Scotstown Inn occupies a converted granite stone farm steading, The Inn oozes old farm house character on the outside and contemporary looks on the inside. The spacious restaurant, with its impressive granite pillars and high ceiling and classic granite arches, makes it an excellent dining venue, with a touch of modern design giving a relaxed ambience and great cuisine in a landmark building at the heart of Bridge of Don.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my parents golden wedding anniversary! The food was excellent the staff were so nice . Thank you for making it a very enjoyable night .
When I booked I looked at the menu online. I had decided what I would like. However, on arrival we were given a dramatically reduced menu. Not one of the items I was interested in was on the menu. Serviceod although server did not know if that was the only menu. Food was quite plain. I had the Balgownie Chicken and it did not come across as home made but more something that had been bought as a ready meal. Staff were polite and I really want to like my local venue. I suggested to my friends from Dyce we go here and was a bit let down.
Thank you for a nice evening!
We were warmly welcomed for our lunchanged booking.. Menu choices were varied and more than enough choices. Food delicious with very generous helpings. Look forward to returning after the refurbishment. Thanks again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our two course lunch and despite using an Itison voucher we got to pick from the normal menu. The quality of the food, the portion size, the service were all excellent. We’ll be back!!
The food was excellent, service also very good and liked they did not rush us and there was a nice time between courses.
We had a lovely 2 course lunch. The food was well presented and a good menu choice. We shall definitely be back. The waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Overall, quite disappointed with the service and the food. We may come back for drinks but won't be eating there again.
The staff were lovely and service really good! Can’t fault anything! My daughter said the deep fried ice cream was a bit funky, whatever that means ha ha! She probably wouldn’t choose it again!
First visit to M of S. We had an Itison voucher for lunch. The menu was okay, we were limited by our voucher. Our drinks arrived quickly, as did our starters. My husband had a mushroom bruchetta and I had camembert. Both pleasant dishes. Then there was an enormous wait until our main courses arrived, about 45 minutes. We eventually received our food after asking our waitress. My macaroni was alright, a bit greasy, the chips were quite nice, but all in all very plain. My husband had steak pie. He couldn't eat the steak as it was luke warm at best and tough. My husband told the waitress when asked how the meal was, who offered to take it back. By then we were fed up and pretty underwhelmed. Would've been absolutely gutted if we'd had to pay full price for a mediocre meal. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting again. Disappointed!
Service was very slow. Took 5 minutes to be acknowledged by a member of staff. Only one waiter on at lunchtime and it was fairly busy. Food was slow coming out, excuse of only 2 chefs on...with the amount if people I would have thought 2 was plenty to deal with the customers. When ordering my boyfriend requsted bbq sauce on the side as he sometimes finds it too sweet so prefers to add as he pleases, this was meant with a sbide comment from thr waiter. Food was okay but time my main arrived I was past the stage of wanting to eat. Glad it was only £12 with it is on voucher or else would have been much more disappointed.
The food is fantastic but the time it took to get our meal wasn’t. We got there at 12.20 for lunch and didn’t get our mains until 1.35pm and I had to be back at work at 2pm!
service was a little slow but food great
The staff were all lovely and friendly.
Had a lovely meal here today we both throughly enjoyed it. Waitress very pleasant. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Two of my guests food arrived cold and had to be sent back to kitchen. It was not busy only about 6 people in so really no excuse.Did not have cider advertised on the menu.
Lovely meal pleasant staff and good servicr
Had another first class meal with really good service.
The food was very good, but there seems to be a problem getting the orders right. The young girl serving was under a great deal of pressure and was extremely apologetic. We didn’t seem to be the only table affected and there were some unhappy customers. We didn’t pay for the meal and that was good customer service. I will be back again soon, so I hope this will be sorted by then.
We visited today, when the restaurant was fairly busy - one large table of 12 & several other tables. We were seated quickly, and our drinks order taken within 5 mins & our food order taken 5 mins later. Our starters took about 20 mins to arrive - quite a long time considering we had only ordered baked camembert (which was served cold) & nachos (plonked on a plate with some salsa & cheese dumped on the top)! It then took another 1/2 hour for our main courses to arrive - half cooked chips & minus the sauce accompaniment to my Tug Boat burger. On a positive note, the fish in my husbands fish & chips was beautiful - the only highlight in what can only be described as an ‘OK’ meal. Service wise, our waiter & waitresses were very good but were definitely hampered by the poor, slow service from the kitchen. Overall, despite living a 5 min walk from the restaurant, we won’t be rushing back anytime soon....
Very dated interiors and slow service. Large menu and portions, which maybe affected the quality of some of the meals served.
We really enjoyed our lunch today and the service was Spot on.
The food was very nice and big portions. The staff were polite and attentive. Excellent value for money. we are planning to come again
Service was very slow, food was lovely as were the waiting staff just seemed to take ages between courses. Wish I’d known it was a set menu for father’s day as the reason I chose here was my daughter loved the sticky toffee pudding but wasn’t on the menu
Lovely food Staff attentive
