About Mains of Scotstown Inn
The Mains Of Scotstown Inn is an multi award winning family pub, famous for its local sustainably sourced food, community engagement, beer, wines, live music, big screen sport and for running amazing events throughout the year. We do so much that it is hard to list everything, so imagine this…
Take a wee wander off the beaten path into Bridge of Don and relax in our restaurant, where you’ll find a menu with some of the freshest local & Scottish produce with traditional favourites and something new for the adventurous.
We’re all for keeping things informal, so we have a couple of menus for you to choose from, if it's a bar supper you're looking for then you can sit back in the bar and even watch the sport. If it's traditional Scottish pub fayre step in to the restaurant. Just choose the area to suit your mood or crowd. Whether you dine in the restaurant or congregate in the conservatory, the friendly informed staff are on hand to offer mouth watering descriptions of the tried and tested menu and wine list.
The ultra environmental and sustainable Mains of Scotstown Inn occupies a converted granite stone farm steading, The Inn oozes old farm house character on the outside and contemporary looks on the inside. The spacious restaurant, with its impressive granite pillars and high ceiling and classic granite arches, makes it an excellent dining venue, with a touch of modern design giving a relaxed ambience and great cuisine in a landmark building at the heart of Bridge of Don.
Fantastic menu, resonably priced. Food was lovely. Will be back again.
Lovely food and service
Was here with a table of 17. We pre ordered our meals, so would be hard to comment on wait time for food normally, but were very impressed with timings and standard of the food overall.
staff was very polite and helpful our food was served very quick and hot staff were also very attentive
Consider adding some specials to the menu for the weekend?
Lovely meal, attentive staff without being in your face, first visit since under new ownership will definitely be back
Staff superb, food all well cooked and presented- good to be back after swearing never to return after previous poor experiences- new management having a good impact, a welcome return to good quality in the local area. Thank you.
Uncooked chicken. Stodgy mac n cheese. Cancelled cups of tea after they didn't appear in 20 minutes. Not rushing back!
We all loved the food the fish was really nice with the chips in a little basket, the scampi was so fresh , the deserts menu was really lovely, could do with some apple pie or cheesecake..could you make for gluten free food options..thanks lovely night ..
Lovely staff, very attentive without being intrusive. Good selection of ‘normal’ food. Will definitely be back
Hadn’t been in a while but my 2 sons and friend all enjoyed our meals and drinks including desserts and the staff were also kind and pleasent. We will be back. Good for lunch, evening dinner or even a quiet midweek date, i’d say.
Overall we were satisfied with the service and quality of the food and drink. We were a bit surprised that the place was nearly empty but it was mid-week. The one thing that let the pub/restaurant down was the fact that none of the staff knew we had booked a table on-line and said they did not have a booking system even although I got an email to confirm my booking and here I am writing a review after getting an invite to write about our experiences. I find this very strange. If I had booked a table at a weekend, assuming it would be busy, I may have not my "booked" table.
We used a BOGOF Facebook code at lunchtime. Great saving- thank you! We all enjoyed our food. Delicious! Impressed with gin selection - I’ll be back to try them another time!!!
The food was excellent , the staff were polite and friendly and they took time to discuss the gluten free food that they have . A really nice and friendly clean restaurant....
Service has improved a huge amount since the last time we visited (a few years ago now), they were attentive without being intrusive. Food was good although my dish was a little on the bland side (chicken hootin anni), my husband and daughter both enjoyed theirs (tex mex burger and kids mac cheese). There was a small issue with the bill but was sorted promptly and refund provided. Would visit again.
Local business, with good, tasty food. Love the new decor too. Staff friendly enough but could just do with wee bit more customer care to give great service - 10-15min wait for wine to be brought over then just placed on table with no apology for delay; no offer of opening bottle, pouring it etc. When food came it was again placed on table but no double check if needed anything else, we’d to ask for condiments. Very tasty meal but could just do with adding those extra little touches.
Really good food, quick service and certainly value for money
Good Service Good Staff Good Food Good Price ,Lacking atmosphere maybe that was just down to it being very quite, as it has nice surroundings .Would recommend though.
At 6:30 received email saying how they were looking forward to welcoming us. Arrived at 6:45. Drinks ordered, arrived eventually. After 25 mins went to bar and asked if they would take our order please. Order taken. Ten minutes later were told we couldn't have half the order, and the chef was closing the kitchen. Apologies all round. Here's some vouchers, sorry for spoiling your birthday meal.
Brilliant day for the Easter fun day. The kids meals were fab but the only let down for myself was the roast beef I had for the roast dinner was very tough making it quite hard to enjoy my meal. I did not feel the need to complain as the day put on for the kids was brilliant.
Wonderful new additions to the menu and the renovation of the bathroom is amazing
Waitress was very helpful and friendly.
First time I have been here and it won’t be the last. Totally impressed with the atmosphere, food and service. Just could not fault anything. I used the toilets and it’s a long time since I have seen toilets spotlessly clean
Booked for a special family event. Food was cold, 3 soups sent back to be reheated. Meant to be spicy and everyone commented on no spice and added pepper. Mains were all luke warm but as service was slow we couldnt be bothered mentioning it. One main course was left in kitchen forgotten about and kids chicken nuggets were inediable. Service was very slow considering there were only 3 other tables in and the waitress commented she was busy!? Very dissappointed and its local so could have been a regular thing. High Tea menu good value just need hot food to match!
