We booked a family dinner sitting in Maestro's last Friday after my son's Confirmation, as we wanted to go for a nice, safe hotel meal in an appropriate setting. However, despite our booking the restaurant, we were shown to the uninspiring bar area, instead of Maestros, for this special occasion. We hadn't been there before, and only realized that the restaurant was adjacent to the bar area on our way out. Apart from that, the food and service was not great; food not very hot, and long delay in service for the desserts, while it was unfortunate that the waiter spilled a glass of wine all over his shirt and the floor when at our table - the walls and seats were then not cleaned up afterwards; only the wooden floor was given a cursory wipe with a mop. When the replacement glass of wine arrived, it tasted somewhat acidic. Overall very disappointing for what was a 'special' occasion, when we specifically booked a table in Maestro's online, having looked at what seemed a nice menu, and having hoped for a matching experience. Should have gone to another, better hotel restaurant in Cork (than a soulless business bar area) for poor food, service, and atmosphere; won't be returning. 'Drop in to Maestro’s Restaurant and enjoy a meal you’ll always remember.', you say. Indeed.
Great food and lovely service
Only negative comment is that the coffee was a little on the cool side
Service was second to none, very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were lovely and all tables were well spaced out given the current situation. Definitely would recommend and will be back here.
Dinner was very poor stake ordered medium rare but came well done ordered pepper sauce but came with gravy, ice cream arrived to the table sprinkled with candied walnuts not stated on the menu, 1st night cesar salad was lovely 2nd night it had no dressing so was a bowl of leaves, and it was impossible to get anyone's attention as they were so busy. Breakfast was terrible you couldn't get anyone's attention once they took your order so was impossible to get a second cup of tea or coffee, bacon was so salty we couldn't eat it and butter was put on the side of a hot plate so was totally melted, while you got a stand with fruit and yogurt you then had to ask for a bowl for it so on 2 mornings I was given the bowl just as the hot food arrived. I know the staff are doing their best but some things need to be addressed
The staff are amazing and really helpful and friendly. The menu could be better with what is available and I thought it was expensive for what it was. In saying that it was good quality and enjoyable to eat.
All staff are very helpful and couldn't be better. Extremely happy with the quality of service we received
I was very unimpressed with the breakfast. There was 3 people dining in my party, one asked for poached egg on brown toast and got boiled egg on white toast, another asked for pancakes with Berries and got 2 blueberries and 2 small strawberries with hr pancakes, the last asked for a fry with certain items and did not receive what they asked for. Very poor service and very expensive for the size of what we got.
Very well prepared and caring staff
Had a lovely stay, food was gorgeous and the staff were lovely.
Despite having a booking the restaurant was closed and we were seated in the bar in front of the TV in the midst of drunk football fans terrible experience
Great food and the kids loved their main course and desert.
Overall breakfast was very good although the tea and coffee was not nice, took several attempts to get a fresh pot of tea. Staff were friendly and helpful however a few were wearing masks under their nose which is not good enough in these times
A little pricey but great customer service.
Great food and lovely staff
Hotel was fine. Food wasn't great Service was really slow and hard to get in the bar. swimming pool and Jacuzzi was freezing
Food was quite poor but staff were helpful and friendly.
Great selection on breakfast menu, even though it’s served to your table.
Booking process is difficult and annoying. Name, Address, email address and phone number are required and it has to be filled in all over again for each day. Unnecessary.
Had evening meal and it was ok, nothing special. Bill when it eventually arrived was incorrect. Also had breakfast and it was so disorganised. Tea was served luke warm by the cup, (or glass in one case??) getting a refill was difficult. Why not give a teapot?Toast arrived eventually after placing original order and requesting it 3 times. Not what was ordered either. Milk and butter was also requested several times. Everyone seemed to be busy but the dining room was only half full. On a plus note, plenty of sanitiser and social distancing however, not somewhere I would recommend.
Waiting staff very poor. As if it was a problem to ask for something. Asked 3 times for toast with my breakfast, by the time I got it, the breakfast was gone.
Great selection, delicious food, good service
Food was overpriced & poor. When I spoke with waitress regarding food she was dismissive and it was largely ignored. Would not return to this restaurant for dinner .
