Bit of a wait for food
The beef chateaubriand was very good did not need a sharp knife to cut it.
Seemed a little short staffed but our waitress was excellent. Lovely food.
Service was shocking. First one dish came out wrong, then another dish came out wrong. Then when my guest asked where her vegetables were the waitress pointed to the board I had a steak on and said well they’re there. Don’t put a plate of food in front of someone and assume that the diner knows that I was supposed to give the veg to someone else. The whole thing was a shambles. Bottle of wine not put into a cooler but just left on the table. I invited clients there to have a meeting over lunch. I would never use this place again, it was embarrassing
This was out first visit to Mac n wild. We absolutely loved it! Our waiter was fantastic, very accommodating, nothing was a problem! Loved the shooting range! Can't wait to come back!
The service was slow despite the restaurant being practically empty and the staff were quite miserable, almost verging on rude. For this reason we decided to pay half of the optional tip which had been added onto the total of our bill. We split the bill and all paid on cards. As we were about to leave the waiter came back over and said we had not paid the full amount so we couldn't leave yet. We explained we had paid for everything we had eaten/drunk but also explained why we were not paying the full tip. I found this extremely rude for two reasons: 1) the tip was optional so they shouldn't be chasing customers that are leaving to pay it 2) we had paid some of it despite the poor service for which they could have been more grateful. Upon reflection, this made my group wish we hadn't paid it at all.
Amazing service!!! The place is stunning ans the food was delicious, definitely coming back soon. (The best boozy brunch I’ve been to !)
Delicious burger and a nice location!
Just amazing food, we tried the venimoo and a steak, probably the best meals we have had in our lifes. thank you for this.
Saturday night dinner stop after a theatre matinee. Service great and a good atmosphere. Loved the haggis pops and the red Jon sauce. Wife’s fish and chips was very tasty although the chips could have been a bit crispier. The only problem was my ribeye which had been cooked in half a pound of lurpak. All I could taste was browned butter. Raised this with the staff who immediately replaced it with a really tasty grilled ribeye sans beurre. This was a great steak, very tender. Hats off to the staff for resolving this in a very professional and friendly manner.
Fabulous food, fabulous drinks and best burger in town!
Great atmosphere, had to send steak back twice as it wasn’t cooked as per order but when it did arrive...wow. What a tasty slab of meat it was.
Waiting time for drinks really long, the steak and chips was full of butter and in the menu you didn’t even report butter as 1 of the ingredient. Selection of wine is a bit poor. Location and atmosphere are amazing.
Brilliant food and drink. Service was slow but staff were friendly.
Extremely disappointed in the service, brought my parents here for their birthdays, service was incredibly slow, our desserts hadn’t arrived after 35 minutes of ordered and we had also asked about them after 20 minutes, we had to cancel our deserts which I made for a disappointing birthday for the both of them.
Great food especially the dessert
Excellent. However we were advised against the house wine but it was lovely.
I’ve had an upset stomach after my visit. Came to visit using a gift voucher that I’d been given for an experience that promised a taste of Scotland. What was offered was a limited set menu with very very subtle nods to Scottish cuisine. I had haggis pops (about as Scottish as we could get from the menu food wise), a steak and then a sticky toffee pudding. So really it was food that maybe was from a Scottish supplier but it was made in to American or English style dishes.
We loved it and are planning a return to sample the whiskey, canapes and shooting
The food was good , service was shocking. Quite rude and unattentive. The £60 spend in the shooting range a total waste of money as the gun sights could not be calibrated so you had no idea where you were aiming. When we asked to staff members for help we were told they knew about the issue but could not fix it. Bookings should not be taken until it is fixed.
Waited ages to get served, were given wrong menus, food and drinks took forever to arrive and one of our orders was wrong
Great food, great location great service
Incredible food, whiskey selection to die for.
Had high hopes for this place, especially since my other half is Scottish. Decided to book a table for a team birthday night out. From the moment we arrived the service was frosty. We seemed to be inconveniencing the staff. They forgot our orders multiple times. When I called ahead I was told we could choose to have the set menu or a la carte. When we arrived we were given the a la carte menu, so we asked to look at the set menu as well but the waitress seemed annoyed saying we can only have the set menu if we booked ahead. Anyway there is so much to say but in short we won’t be going back.
Hamish is a credit to Mac & Wild...lovely and friendly and was great to chat to as he's Scottish too (like us)! Haggis bites were the best....with Delicious Sauce 👍 Whisky Bar downstairs is impressive and well worth a visit. Awra best Hamish 😉 Thanks for a lovely evening 👏
