Group bookings welcome.
Servers did not offer or ask what sauces we would like for our steaks. Steaks were very tender but a bit bland — I think that’s where the sauces are suppose to come in.
Disappointed with steak. Loads of gristle and not very hot. Sole over cooked - looked more steamed than fried in butter. Little skin colouration. Fancy chips were stunning. Mac & cheese also good
Excellent restaurant. Scotch eggs worth the visit alone. Really knowledgeable staff. A great night out.
We had a lovely bottomless brunch. Our server was very attentive- great for topping up the prosecco! The food was great as always. Best Scottish restaurant in London by far!
Amazing as always!
Service was brilliant, food was great. Special thanks to our waiters (we had a guy with dark hair and Miss Watson the Aussie chick) thanks guys! The coffees were a bit expensive but good quality.
Quick and friendly service. Delicious food too!
Black pudding dry Would have ketchup but didn’t like to ask Would be nice to have toast with the breakfast
The Venison Scotch Eggs might be the best thing I’ve ever tatsted
We had a great time! Couldn't fault a single thing.
It would have been a five star experience all round except there was no venison so we felt we missed out on the burger - which we were really looking forward to trying, with it having such an amazing reputation. Everything else was perfect.
Always a fun evening, nice buzz to the place. Staff are enthusiastic and friendly.
I brought my Glaswegian mother to Mac and Wild for Brunch on Sunday and we found it very disappointing. The Lorne sausage and black pudding were so dry, the black pudding just crumbled in to grains. The scrambled eggs were way too salty, my Mum reordered her breakfast explaining that the eggs were too salty and there was a clear difference in the saltiness in the second breakfast. The texture of the sausage and the lorne sausage were very tight and dry. We asked the waiter whether the breakfast was microwaved he said no but then explained that the breakfast is made in the morning (we booked our table for 11am) and then kept in a warming tray and then reheated in the frying pan…this was evident! Even the mushroom looked old. My partners onglet steak and chips (how can you get chips wrong) were unbearably salty. I could see the massive flakes of rock salt on the steak. When we arrived at 11am we were the only people in the restaurant, so no rush, there should have been plenty of time to make the food from fresh. Instead the food arrive 5 mins after we ordered including the steak. Also we ordered the Haggis pops which never arrived. Our waiter seemed high energy like we were on a 18-30s holiday but wasn’t full engaged when we tried to interact with him. Very very disappointing
We were a large group booking and could not have been more well looked after! We were able to pre-order from the full menu (not restricted to a set menu) and everything was spot on. Food came out quickly and everything was absolutely delicious! Staff were amazing, professional and friendly (we were looked after by a woman who is the manager and 2 men - I am so so sorry to have forgotten all of your names, I will have to blame your lovely cocktails!). We were celebrating my sister getting married soon and the team also gave her a glass of fizz and tartan ornament as a gift - really thoughtful, thank you for making it so special! I would highly recommend Mac and Wild and will definitely be back to try more of the amazing menu!! Thanks again Kristin
the service was really odd. the server kept ignoring us and it really wasn't clear whether he was serving us or walking away at times. I'm not sure if he was trying to be cool and aloof, but it just came off as rude and bad service. We both ordered diet cokes which were disgusting (not fizzy and tasted quite wrong) and neither of us drank them. the steak onglet was very good though.
Great food really friendly staff and good value
Perfect meal, partner LOVED the mars bar dessert
I sent an email directly to the restaurant but no one contact me, so maybe is worth it to share my feedback here. First of all just said the food was amazing, I work in hospitality as well and I must said we really enjoyed but I think the service was kind of weird. When we finished our mains the waiter removed everything from the table (my half drink included without asking if it was finished, napkins etc) and he left us there with nothing on the top, we wait quite a long to see if anyone approach us to offer some puddings or coffee or anything but never happened, just assumed the restaurant doesn't have desserts, but after I checked in the website and they have them, so its kind of weird, and mostly because was my husbands 30's birthday and I brought a candle just for that. Anyway, we didn't want to wait more, so we asked for the bill and we have to ask 2 times, my husband has to stand up the third time just to ask again and when the bill came it was included the beer that my husband had and the waiter said it was complimentary because it was his birthday, but at the end it was there, didn't want to said anything because I feel quite embarrass to ask to remove things from the bill. I would love to had a pudding that day and spent some more money if anyone would offered them, and if the waiter said something is on the house, I don't expect to see it in the bill. Again, is just feedback. Thanks very much
Great food, great service, thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Brilliant place. Great idea, great food, even better drink and wonderful service!
One of your waiting staff suggested a tomahawk in place of a cheaper cut, the restaurant was very loud and I misheard her. I was shocked to find the cut was £105!!!! Not only does this seem well above market rate (I’m a beef farmer’s son), but it was well beyond what I had planned to spend during the evening. I appreciate upselling is part of all restaurant’s business models, but I felt this was inappropriate and presumptuous. I really enjoyed my meal, but it was totally ruined by this unwelcome surprise and I would hesitate to recommend Mac and Wild as a result.
Fantastic service and great food! It was great value with the Tastecard too. Only small issue was with tables being too close to each other.
Nice but not worth the money, even as a star deal, sorry. Service very good.
Second time at Mac n Wild. What a great place! Wonderful food and booze. Will be back again and ... again.
A lovely restaurant a short walk from Oxford circus. Mac and Wild is a very casual eatery with friendly and helpful staff. We went for Meaty Mondays with 50% off offer on butchers cuts. The options on the day were: T-bone, Tomahawk and Ribeye. Our table was booked for 8pm and by that time ribeye has run out, so we went for a 1.1kg T-bone to share between the two of us. The meat was superb, cooked to perfection! With 50% off offer the final bill was reasonable by at full price it’s far too expensive and if I was to pay in excess of £100 for a steak then I’d rather do so somewhere like Mash which has the surroundings to match the prices. The award winning cider was amazing, but I can’t remember what it was called.
