Exceptional service as always, no rush and great advice on both wine, whisky and food. First visit to west end venue as city was closed and didn’t disappoint. Thank you again for an excellent evening
Superb meal as ever. Christmas burger is insanely good. Great meal out with superb menu and staff. Thank you.
Excellent staff and service, full of enthusiasm and entertained us! Was really great. We went in a Tuesday night and it was quiet downstairs, so not much vibe, but I have been before sitting upstairs in a busy Friday night and it was excellent atmosphere (this is different times at the moment though so nothing against the restaurant itself). Can’t wait to go back!! Venimoo and Mac & cheese, the best things on the menu :)
Great staff and top quality food!
The food was delicious (as usual). We booked outside as heaters were promised, but there was no gas so there were no heaters. The staff were apologetic - however it is quite a big oversite when it's literally against government guidelines to sit inside.
Really disappointing experience here. Booked this place as they have heaters in their outside space. We arrived to be informed that there was no gas in the heaters - and subsequently spent the next 2 hours so unbelievably cold that it ruined our experience. Would have appreciated a courtesy call that day to let us know, or some sort of gesture. Food also took a very long time to be served, and the overall ambience outside was poor - tables are in the street where it is quite dirty and next to barriers. We couldn't help admire the terraces outside the opposite restaurants which looked really appealing with fairy lights, heaters, etc. We are very easy going customers and never complain when the odd hiccup happens, but we felt like we were being taken for mugs here and all the restaurant wanted to do was take our money. Would genuinely advise friends to avoid this restaurant going forward.
We had a really wonderful time. The highlight for us was the waiter: Connor. He was brilliant, the best service we've experienced in a very long time! We had the set menu and really wanted to try the butter rum - really disappointment that we were unable to "upgrade" to this choice. We asked the manager if we could pay a little extra to have it instead of the other cocktails, but she said no - it didn't really make sense! Such a shame. The restaurant was quite noisy, in particular one couple who decided to arm wrestle at one point- but that was just unfortunate. Great food - more mac and cheese would have been nice. Outstanding service from Connor Poor management- should allow for some flexibility surely or allow us to pay extra - common sense no? A little too noisy for us!
Great to see it busy (responsibly). Friendly service and better still - you don’t get chucked off the table after 90 minutes.
Food is great as always. The thing that let it down was we had booked an outdoor table given the current COVID environment and it was the only restaurant along the road that had not ordered gas for the heaters! So sat in the freezing cold for the meal whilst enviously watching other customers at the nearby restaurants enjoying the warmth of their gas heaters! School boy error!
I used to waitress myself so I understand that sometimes situations are unavoidable and so never really leave bad reviews, but this time I felt like I had to as the experience really ruined our night. I booked a month in advance for a table inside. When I arrived we were told we’d be sitting outside despite booking a table inside, when I explained I hadn’t booked outside I was rudely told yes I had and to check my email. I checked the email and it confirmed I hadn’t booked outside, we were then offered a table inside but told we needed to leave within an hour so that the table could be prepped for the next group. At this point we decided to take the table as we were quite hungry. Despite needing the table back in an hour it took 20 minutes for the waitress to come over to serve us and we were eventually left with 20 minutes to eat our food. Whilst the food was great I wouldn’t return because of the experience.
I enjoyed our last dinner before lockdown at the amazing Mac & Wild in Fitzrovia. The service are really cool! The Italian hostess, the Brazilian guy super motivate and also the runner very efficiency and proactive with upsaling techniques. Perhaps I will add another type of sauce available and could be great a third dessert option too. The focus was amazing and the service too. I applied my CODE App discount and definitely we will comeback. Joaquin Bravo Events Manager at The Standard London Hotel
My new favourite restaurant in London. The Venison Chateaubriand was amazing along with the Scottish cocktails.
Thé burger was great , chips could be better
We had a great time at bottomless brunch on Sunday. The food was good and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Considering the world is doom and gloom at the moment, our brunch was great fun and the service was very good. It really is annoying when you have a bottomless brunch and have to ‘beg’ for more...this was not the case at all during our experience at Mac & Wild - our waiter was awesome and we really did have a great time!
The upstairs dining area is fairly small, however the food and service was excellent.
Firstly the Team. Great welcome and great fun.. The food is superb. The hamburgers were absolute Top class. The Haggis lollipops a tasty delight. Small but interesting selection of wines. Overall a great experience.
Having a Nut Allergy and mentioning this on the booking, I was only advised when ordering my steak that the chips are fried in oil that’s contaminated with nuts. My birthday lunch was ruined.
We have been waiting to visit Mac & Wild since recommended back in January. It was worth the wait. The service was brilliant, the atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. The Haggis Pops and Red Jon sauce was incredible. A unique place.
Very kind staff, Amazing food, the venison was really good!
Have been to both the Fitzrovia restaurant and the City one several times and can’t rave enough about this place. Delicious food, epic cocktails and a great atmosphere, will definitely come back!
Excellent food and our waiter was a delight, making the experience that much better
