Food was nice, service was equally as good.
A really good night out. Food was delicious, our waiter was friendly and attentive. Will be coming back :)
The food at Mac and Wild is always glorious, with this being our first time we’ve had their delicious sharing roast. The only issue was being situated next to a large group having a bottomless brunch, the waiting staff were struggling to hear orders and my friends and I had real issues conversing at our table. We would have stayed for one (OK probably a few) more whiskeys but we had to escape before our heads exploded. Nevertheless the food and service is always fantastic we will just keep away from times when bottomless brunch is in service.
Great bottomless brunch!
It really was the perfect start to our evening. The missus is Scottish and couldn't speak highly enough. We'll be back, and I've also found a great place to take clients for good fun and great vibes.
Great bottomless boozy brunch, staff were brilliant and the food was lovely
Our visit to your restaurant was a gift from our grandchildren. We have, over the years had many “gift “ experiences, but we must say, Mac and Wild has been the very best. A wonderful venue, attentive staff, but most of all, delicious, tasty food. Well done and a BIG thankyou.
Great place, a bit pricey for the atmosphere, you should go early to get a good steak cut.
Lovely waiters :)
We had a great early lunch. Staff were lovely and the venimoo burger was brilliant!
I asked for a steak/sharp knife and was told you don’t have them. I had to eat my steak with my fingers because it was so chewy I couldn’t cut it with the standard knife. The guy on the door had real attitude, we asked a few basic question around cuts of meat and he was so curt towards us. Wouldn’t return
Great staff, fantastic food and wine.
My go to restaurant when entertaining my highest profile clients. Once again the staff and the food was incredible. See you again in a few weeks.
Had a superb bottomless brunch. Great service and a great vibe in the restaurant. The staff had great banter and would definitely recommend to anyone.
Really good experience, food and drink really tasty with lovely whisky. Best haggis since I was last in Kilmarnock at the Chapeltoun Hotel.
We visited Mac & Wild using the tastecard on a saturday night. With this, it was very good value (without it, average I think). We both had venison and beef burgers, which were really tasty. However, the rump steak wasn't available, nor the Chateaubriand, and the other steaks were expensive (though they did look amazing). The thistle cross cider was really nice, but a bit pricey (how about some draught beer?). The service was great and a nice ambience and decor. What I would like to see - for environmental reasons - is a few more non-beef main meal options on the menu (I would have preferred my burger without it), maybe some smoked fish, more venison, or haggis (with neaps and tatties of course!). Also some more veggie options if possible. But overall, I think I will be back.
Bad start to the evening. When arrived 2 or 3 members of staff were giving advice where to go next to a group leaving. This left us at the door unacknowledged for about 5 minutes rather than quickly seating us and returning to the conversation. Service was fairly slow and we had trouble getting attention to send backs steak that was ordered medium but given closer to rare than medium. Had to buy a side salad for the burger as it came with nothing which is a bit much considering price. Haggis pops just tasted of the batter and the fish pieces were made with potato which wasn’t mentioned on the set menu we had. Deserts and drinks were fine but nothing special. Cant say anything about the experience seemed particularly Scottish aside selling buckfast. Interesting premise but poor execution and experience.
Excellent really loved this dining experience a good laugh @1400 hrs !!!! Lovely slim waitress really liked after us. Will return.
Really great - thank you
Second time here. Great food and amazing service. Tried haggis for the first time. The sauce was amazing. Will come again
A fantastic restaurant with a exciting menu - best steak I have ever had - you have to try the haggis pops!! Staff very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Will be back very soon!
Excellent. Have raved about to everybody since going!
Our server Eleanora was lovely - very friendly without being intrusive. Veni-Moo burgers were absolutely delicious as were our sides of potatoes and salad. Have given 4 for atmosphere simply because we were sat downstairs and it looked more pleasant upstairs with it being warm and sunny out. However I’m sure had we requested a table upstairs this wouldn’t have been a problem.
Absolutely delicious food and very attentive and helpful waiters Definitely have to recommend the Smoked Salmon Gin and tonic ! We will be back.
