Serving old-school classics, new creations and big flavoured steaks, The Tudor Restaurant is known for it welcoming ambiance and friendly service – not to mention the panoramic views across Lythe Hill’s gardens and lake area.
We where a bit disappointed as we where not offered any towels, locker keys, or robes like the other guests. And We paid for afternoon tea with Prosecco. We where told we had to take it away or eat on terrace but it was raining and because of covid restrictions. We then got given a glass of Prosecco to quickly drink in the reception whilst waiting 25 minutes for our afternoon tea. The sauna and steam room Where also shut and the jacuzzi was cold. We asked when we booked and was told all was open. Other than them points we had a lovely morning. Just was a bit disappointed with the above.
Beautiful hotel and spa.
We had a lovely day - amazing massage from Anastasia. Shame the pool was so cold - I only managed 2 lengths. Lunch was superb. I am booked again for February and cannot wait.
Our family really enjoyed our afternoon tea, the food was very tasty and we enjoyed lovely views of the hotel grounds.
Beautiful, cosy setting overlooking the lake. The sandwiches were delicious, scones a little hard on the outside but soft and warm inside. Dainty little cakes fresh and tasty apart from the chocolate one which was very stale! Extra tea, cream and jam quickly brought to our table. Staff helpful and friendly.
Atmosphere nil. Scones and fruitcake too hard to eat.
Fabulous sunday lunch was amazing!
Hotel room was dirty, found nail clippings, dust and hair in room and toilet did not flush properly.

Booked over the phone, lovely service but the guy told me the wrong check in and check out time and didn't book the swimming session. When we went to check in, the receptionist was lovely and arranged a swimming session and early check in but the swimming pool was cold and we were not told about this. The dinner was average and when we went for breakfast, we were put in a room on our own and felt excluded and purposely put there. I wouldn't recommend for the money we paid.
Delicious afternoon tea! Pleasant service from every member of the staff, and we sat by a radiator, which kept us cosy on a very rainy afternoon.
I had a great experience: ordered beer battered haddock, homemade chips, mashy peas and an excellent tartar sauce (I asked for an extra one and it was offered for no extra charge). Restaurant has a beautiful view to the nature with a small lake. A smooth piano music greatly accompanied the food. Staff was most polite and helpful. Covid-wise: excellent. One way system applied, hand sanitizer, track and trace, masks compulsory when moving around the restaurant, tables desinfected after each customer.
Swimming pool was freezing and not enjoyable . Changing rooms were dirty and staff miserable. Difficult to get through through on the phone to make bookings and instructions not clear.
To be really honest I have the card of your operational director to write too , I am so disappointed by my stay not only did I spend over two weeks trying to book and had our massage appointments moved from Sat to Sunday with no request I was just told Sunday or nothing so accepted just pleased to get through When we reached you we were treated quite rudely by one of the reception staff was abrupt and rude when we asked to leave a bag whilst we went to cream tea. I had rung ahead asked if it could be moved by an hour in the morning no call back . So we went in for cream tea nice enough lady but no checking on us we had to request more tea twice before we got any. We were in and out for cream tea in 30 minutes made to feel uncomfortable so couldn’t relax there was a wedding going on and it was quite clear anyone not in the wedding wasn’t going to be served anytime soon. Then we went to our room which was lovely spa bath shower etc, tv didn’t work so we were told to go to reception get another key no apology and the other room had no bath. We then asked if we could go swimming on Saturday that was a no disappointed we went back to the room until dinner. Dinner was nice but once again very poor service we waited 25 minutes for anyone to even check if we would like a drink. To be honest I have worked managing care service throughout pandemic and was really looking forward to relaxing for a night the lack of customer service ruined what should of been a lovely night in a nice location. Great location , nice place poor customer service

delicious afternoon tea
Bought afternoon tea with prosecco for 4 as a birthday treat and had a lovely afternoon. Beautiful views from the table. Food really fresh and cakes not sickly as some places we have been to. Attentive staff. One lady from our party unable to sit on soft chair due to hip problems, they happily brought a hard chair from the conference centre for her. Ready supply of tea and coffee. We will be returning to try their Sunday roast.
the evening menu was not too my liking as i do not like curried food or chillies as a lot of people are probably the same as me in my tastes

Absolutely loved our afternoon tea here, food was incredible. It felt safe with the covid precautions. The staff were friendly & professional. Ample parking. The surroundings was beautiful. There was no rushing. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be looking to have a spa day package
Delightful afternoon tea.
Checking and out was nice and easy We stayed in one of the Lodges, very comfortable a little tired in places especially in the bathroom, but lovely space to relax in with a beautiful view. The Restaurant was ok, not very atmospheric, but clean and comfortable. The staff cannot be faulted they very polite and professional and most attentive. I understand that the hotel was extremely short of staff during our stay, but it must be said unless I had been told this you would not have known. The one big disappointment was the so called Spa, understandably due to Covid-19 the Steam and Sauna were closed. However the changing rooms were not pleasant at all, with horrible automatic air fresheners ( which I am allergic to) The changing area was cold and looked very un-kept and in desperate need of a complete refurbishment, there were dirty towels over flowing in the basket and I had to request a new towel on arrival as the one I was handed felt like sand paper. We were really looking forward to relaxing in the Hotel Spa..... It looked lovely in the photos Pool and Jacuzzi hot tub. In hindsight I should have packed my Wet Suit the pool was freezing and the Jacuzzi spa which is fed by the pool water was equally as cold. We managed less than ten minuets in the area, we got dressed and headed back to our Lodge for a warm bath. While in the Spa reception waiting for my husband I started to notice how the area need a good clean. Above my head on the Green Exit sign by the main entrance there was a cobweb with a bug hanging from it and the wall by the reception desk was only half painted.
