About Lusty Glaze Beach Restaurant
ABOUT LUSTY GLAZE BEACH RESTAURANT
*Please note - our £30 hot rock deal is not available during school holidays
Nestled in a secluded, privately-owned cove, just a short walk from the centre of Newquay and down the infamous 133 steps, the Bar & Restaurant at Lusty Glaze Beach provides a unique setting for, lazy lunches, cosy coffees, and seaside suppers.
Whatever the weather, the view from your table is breath-taking. Sit on the terrace and soak up the sunshine with a cold drink in the summer, or on wild winter days, cosy up by one of two roaring log burners with one of our famous hot chocolates.
We take pride in the creation and presentation of our food, and our relaxed and family-friendly environment provides a quality casual setting for dining, so don’t be surprised if your waiter is wearing a pair of flip flops.
We can cater for all dietary requirements if you make us aware of them before visiting.
Well behaved dogs (and owners!) are welcome in our bar and restaurant all year round.
We very much look forward to seeing you at the beach. If you have any questions about your visit, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team on 01637 872444.
I have forgotten our server's name but she was fantastic. 1st time here and looking forward to more visits.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Just after a windy walk on the cliffs. Many thanks
I booked for a group of friends as we all needed a relaxed evening and we were not disappointed. The service and food was exceptional. The atmosphere was simply beautiful. Lots of twinkly lights, warm, cosy by the fire, candle light and a beautiful feel. The food was outstanding. The highlight of the evening was when the Chef brought out 4 bottles of his 'Vodka Specials' to sample, the Salted Caramel was exceptional. Thank you Lusty Glaze, you did not disappoint.
Yet again we had another amazing experience. We always feel so welcome when we come to lusty glaze, the service is impeccable and the food is second to none! Thanks again! We will be back!
One of my favourite places to eat in Newquay. Lovely food, lovely staff and stunning views!
A stunning location, fabulously personalized service, and a scrumptious meal. What more could you ask for? Also, the online booking system was very user-friendly and Nikki promptly responded to my emails.
Fabulous venue for a special meal with a wonderful sea view. Will definitely be back
Amazing place, lovely setting and very friendly. Great food too
Excellent venue with great food and staff. We would like to thank everyone for providing a great service and assurance as one diner has a peanut allergy. It is very rare to feel so confident that food is being prepared in a safe kitchen, fantastic job!
Amazing place - the friendliness of the staff, the food and drinks and the atmosphere & entertainment are second to none. Great people running a great place and it shows
Couldn't have asked for better food, service or atmosphere. My absolute favourite place! The portions are huge however so make sure youre hungry!
Service was very slow , we had to ask to be served and whether or not we needed to get our own drinks ... not great yet setting and food was lovely
First visited during the summer months and fell totally in love with the place, stunning location, gorgeous food and fabulous atmosphere and I am pleased to say that a visit during a very cold October evening was just as exceptional. Looking forward to our next trip to Newquay just so I can book a table (which I highly recommend as it can be incredibly busy)
Every October half term we travel from Sheffield to Newquay and look forward to a special evening at Lusty Glaze. First time this year we were disappointed. Portion size and quality of food seems to have taken a downturn. The steak was beautiful but to add frozen chips let it down for £23. We pay £8 at home for the same meal in our local. Sorry
Fab location and great food. Would highly recommend Lusty Glaze!
extremely friendly staff who love the dogs. Lovely warm atmosphere and the Sunday roast is the tastiest that we have had for a long time.
I was more than a little disappointed in the restaurant. The setting itself is superb but it felt like eating in an up-market Little Chef. Plasticised menus just don't do it for me and despite being an animal lover I don't like dogs (of which there were several) in a restaurant. The 'sweet chilli prawns' that my partner ordered were very disappointing. We won't be making a return visit any time soon.
This is our third time of coming here when we've been in the area.... totally underwhelmed with the service... we didn't even get asked if we would like another drink... felt like we were being rushed and the food was mediocre at best.... totally disappointed
Setting and location were fab sadly the service wasn’t very good. It states on the menu a 30min wait which we were happy to do however when the food arrived it was at different times, one meal was forgotten, 2 meals missing some of the meal and the kids food was cold. We also had to wait for drinks and there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant at the same time.
Fantastic food as always with music to give a great atmosphere... 👍
Service was very attentive at the beginning of the evening. Trailed off a little ! We had to grab someone’s attention for the bill. The starter I had was amazing. Did visit just for drinks a previous evening. We were sat on the sofas which is what we wanted. But no one returned to take out drinks order.
Felt a little deflated as we were really looking forward to visiting after visiting in March for a hot chocolate and a beach day. It was our Anniversary and had noted it on booking. We were given a table by the window but was so huge for the 2 of us we asked to be moved to then be sat by a large party and a large dog. This would have been fine on another day as we had our dog too. We almost left but would have had to find somewhere else to eat so stayed and chose our own table. The waitress couldn't do enough for us but it felt a little over the top after all we wanted a quiet meal together. Menu could do with a revamp not very exciting and over priced. Steak was nice but £24 a little steep. Sea bass was nice but stated sautéed potatoes when I asked where they were told in the risotto could I find any no. The place is lovely and our dog made very welcome but we will only be returning for a Hot Chocolate and the beach if we return x
Very nice evening great food the view was amazing first class in every way thankyou
