About Lusty Glaze Beach Restaurant
ABOUT LUSTY GLAZE BEACH RESTAURANT
*Please note - our £35 hot rock deal is not available during school holidays.
Nestled in a secluded, privately-owned cove, just a short walk from the centre of Newquay and down the infamous 133 steps, the Bar & Restaurant at Lusty Glaze Beach provides a unique setting for, lazy lunches, cosy coffees, and seaside suppers.
Whatever the weather, the view from your table is breath-taking. Sit on the terrace and soak up the sunshine with a cold drink in the summer, or on wild winter days, cosy up by one of two roaring log burners with one of our famous hot chocolates.
We take pride in the creation and presentation of our food, and our relaxed and family-friendly environment provides a quality casual setting for dining, so don’t be surprised if your waiter is wearing a pair of flip flops.
We can cater for all dietary requirements if you make us aware of them before visiting.
Well behaved dogs (and owners!) are welcome in our bar and restaurant all year round.
We very much look forward to seeing you at the beach. If you have any questions about your visit, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team on 01637 872444.
Love lusty glaze, always a great atmosphere. Enjoyed our lunch on Sunday, however thought beef was slightly overdone and cauliflower cheese could’ve had a bit more of a sauce. Other than that it was all still pretty tasty! Will continue coming here as it’s such a lovely location!
Such a fantastic place, cosy full of atmosphere and the staff are lovely 😊 Love it here !!!
Outstanding in every way. Highly recommend this place for all occasions.
Probably the most beautiful restaurant in the UK to dine at. I love it here. And Stephen was absolutely blown away too. Krystal is attentive and super friendly. She makes it so special. I’m always recommending Lusty Glaze as an experience to my friends and family. Thank you all for being so awesome 👏🏼
Very friendly staff, made you feel welcome. We were on holiday and went in a few times with our dog and the lady from New Zealand who works there was very good with him giving him biscuits and making sure he had a drink as well as us. We also went one evening without the dog. The food was amazing and there was a band playing which made the evening more entertaining. The place is very beautiful with twinkly lights and log burning fires.
My daughters 13 th birthday really nice meal in beautifull cosy setting views of the sea lovely food x
Beautiful location, lovely restaurant and relaxed atmosphere with great food
Cannot fault a thing. The food delicious, the staff attentive without being intrusive and Daisy Clarke’s performance add that something special. Cannot wait to come again.
Fantastic chirpy and friendly staff. No problem too big and food was faultess - just wanted more!
Love the venue, beautiful restaurant however a bit disappointed in the food. My husband had the fish cakes in curried mussel bisque, well that’s what he ordered. What he received was fish cakes on a tomato salsa and 3 cold mussels. My Camembert starter was nice and generous in portion size. The mains, my scallops were actually really nice but instead of an avocado purée as it said on the menu, I got a beetroot and horseradish purée! And for £18.50 a couple of green beans wouldn’t go amiss. It looked more like a large starter only covering half the plate. My husbands duck main looked promising however there was no sauce at all and was very bland and dry. The slow roasted plum was still hard and didn’t turn into a jus as the waitress was excited to tell us. When we mentioned there’s no sauce the waitress went to the kitchen and came back with a small jug of what tasted like strawberry sauce! The meal cost us nearly £80 and we just left disappointed
Amazing experience. Location and setting are lovely. We had a fantastic meal and I can’t wait to come back. Waitress was so chatty and the chefs ‘special’ menu was unreal. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
We had an enjoyable evening, enhanced by the lovely Ryan Jones playing in the restaurant! My burger was very tasty too!
Great chilled out Sunday lunch session
Great friendly service, lovely atmosphere, fab food as always. Hot rock deal is well worth a try. Easy to reserve a table online.
Amazing atmosphere and really friendly lovely staff, there were a couple of things we think could be improved. We had to get someone’s attention to ask for a second round of drinks during the meal, and had to then remind our waitress who had forgotten to put the order through. She was very apologetic. The starters were lovely but I had the fish of the day and I felt it was slightly over-cooked. My husband ordered the steak and whilst it had been cooked well, it was a very tough piece of meat so we don’t think it was of very high quality. Overall I would return because of the lovely staff and atmosphere but I’d probably order something simple off the menu.
We had a wonderful evening from start to finish thanks to the well mannered and attentive staff who served up the most delicious food and wine which was accompanied by some lovely unobtrusive live entertainment in the form of an angelic singer songwriter. Looking forward to my next visit, and the next.
Great food in a lovely setting, the wind was howling outside but inside a great atmosphere for a lovely family meal.
Fab setting and wonderful service as always. Food was exceptional and the whole atmosphere makes it a really special place at night.
Lovely warm comfortable and relaxing place to have an evening meal. Beautiful food and drink and staff are fabulous.
We can’t give 5 stars for atmosphere because we went in between settings at about 4pm, however it was still great so I’d imagine the place would be buzzing during busy service. Our food was excellent and the plate beginning taken to other diners looked awesome too. The service was informal but attentive at the right level; the waitress who served our afternoon tea, on the very heavy wood platter, and the front of house manager (working hard while clearly pregnant) could not be faulted in making us feel welcome. Value was excellent compared to other establishments in the town. High quality food and cocktails at a reasonable price. For a small increase in price over some of the dumps in town you get food, drink, service and location that wouldn’t be out of place on any beautiful beach in the world.
Excellent food and location. Staff were very attentive, even to our dog who was given a bed and his own dinner. It was really nice to find somewhere that allowed dogs in such a beautiful restaurant. We will definitely be coming back, would highly reccomend.
Food was amazing, ambience really nice, especially with the live singers, possibly one of the best specials I’ve ever tasted in the lobster risotto with choc and chilli. Mussels was also perfect. Front of house team were so warm and friendly and were fantastic in managing to secure a booking for a 2nd night after we loved the first so much, a must visit!
Always brilliant. It is my favourite place to eat since moving to Newquay.
