About Lupita Central
Offering some of London's most authentic Mexican dining, Lupita Central is inspired by a single charcoal grill taquería, which has drawn hordes of diners from all over Mexico since it opened in 1962. Enjoy views of South American delicacies being rustled up in the island open kitchen, which sizzles with the sound of chefs at work.
Lupita Central has a bright, funky décor. Which is as vibrant as the Lupita menu, which offers everything from Tacos, Tostadas and Enchiladas to Salads, Soups and Totopos.
Lupita Central has an extensive drinks list, some of Mexico’s hard-to-find beers, including Pacifico, Modelo Especial, as well as our much-loved margaritas, made using the best Agave Tequila.
really enjoyed it, very nics
Everything was great! My friends loved it and I felt at home with the food.
Amazing food, so tasty and flavoursome. Staff were amazing and really helpful. The fresh guacamole is incredible! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back
We got put downstairs by the toilet and the smell was disgusting, we had to wait longer than usual as i have been tp this restaurant before and always enjoyed my experience however this time it was poor. I dont think i will rush back this time
Love the food and the drinks! A must every time we visit London... But how can you refer to “South American delicacies” on the about section when this is a Mexican restaurant? You should know Mexico is not in South America! Will come back but please change that description
Authentic Mexican food - we really enjoyed it
I appreciate that the manager was kind and flexible in moving my booking to a later time at short notice. It was on a busy Friday evening so his friendly and accommodating attitude was much appreciated.
Enjoyable food and drink. The churros were great but a bit on the small side. Lively atmosphere. Seats could be more comfortable.
Fun and friendly waiter, nice food and nice atmosphere.
Pretty tasty, but can add up!
Absolutely Fantastic - loved the entire experience! I will be back. Thanks again
The food was great, but although I didn't actually a particularly large meal, my meal was quite expensive for what it was. Lupita's atmosphere was lovely, very vibrant and fun, but the service was quite bad - we waited over half an hour for our food order to be taken, and then another half hour for the bill.
Just what we had hoped for. Fantastic attention to detail for one of our friends (who is a coeliac). Less spicy than we had anticipated , but excellent Margaritas
Reservation wasn’t honoured. Kept waiting 30 mins for a table.
Despite booking a table, we were left waiting for 20 minutes whilst other tables were given to walk-in guests. However! The food was amazing and the waiting team were fabulous. Definitely worth it!
starters were ok, although the avocado lacked onion/garlic. First jug of margarita was excellent, the next had far less alcohol. The main courses were inedible: very cheap watery beef and chicken and the rice was out of a packet. VERY disappointing. If I had bought that food in a shop I would have taken it back and asked for my money back but with restaurant dining we just have to put up with being ripped off. I couldn't even take off the service because the service was good.
Of all the Mexican choices I had through many years of living in the UK, La Lupita is probably the best however three things in my last visit. I resent that they don’t do refills of Fresh Horchata anymore... this was a good sailing point for us in the past but this time we have a jug for four of us and before we could have our glasses refil for free although the waitress insisted this never been the case I had it done at least twice in past visits. Second, being from Mexico City I can say food is good but very pricey in comparison for what you would get in Mexico, at the end of the day this is still street food and for the same price we would have a very fancy meal in Mexico. Lastly although I always leave good tips (and in Mexico is usually 10%) I really didn’t justify the 12.5% added to the bill specially without asking, this would be consider really rude in Mexico and most people would actually react negatively to this been added without previous consent.
we didn't pay for our food as staff realised how terrible the service was. cold food that took ages to arrive. our server was lovely and did her best. but I won't be going back. it was a Monday and they just couldn't get it together.
Very good place! Totally recommended! :)
The service was abysmal. The waiter brought my margarita to the wrong table and when I pointed it out to the waiter, it took him 30 minutes to get me a new one. We also requested water and did not get any either. As a result, we had to endure eating our spicy food without any drinks to wash the food down. This was my 4th time here but am unlikely to return.
Both our dishes were very tasty, and I would happily come to Lupita again. Great cocktails too!
Pleasantly surprised, food was amazing !!! And came pretty quick aswell
Very good food and drinks. A little expensive considering the kind of food
Tasty food, but not the most cosy atmosphere
Wonderful food, everything we had was great! Cocktails were also excellent! I would recommend this for hanging out with friends or a casual date night!
