About Lupita Central
Offering some of London's most authentic Mexican dining, Lupita Central is inspired by a single charcoal grill taquería, which has drawn hordes of diners from all over Mexico since it opened in 1962. Enjoy views of South American delicacies being rustled up in the island open kitchen, which sizzles with the sound of chefs at work.
Lupita Central has a bright, funky décor. Which is as vibrant as the Lupita menu, which offers everything from Tacos, Tostadas and Enchiladas to Salads, Soups and Totopos.
Lupita Central has an extensive drinks list, some of Mexico’s hard-to-find beers, including Pacifico, Modelo Especial, as well as our much-loved margaritas, made using the best Agave Tequila.
Hi. Really disappointed- I booked a table and we were seated promptly but waited for 15 minutes in a 2/3rds empty restaurant for someone to ask us if we wanted anything to drink or to take our order. Staff wandered around avoiding our increasingly desperate attempts to catch their attention. In short, we were totally ignored. After 15 minutes we got up to leave and I told the member of staff who seemed to be in charge that we were leaving because we hadn’t received any service. Instead of apologising, taking our order and offering us a discount or a free drink as a goodwill gesture, he said, “Oh, ok” - not even an apology. Absolutely unacceptable. We went to a rival establishment a few doors down and in the same amount of time as we’d spent at Lupito, 15 mins, we had been seated, had our order taken, and had been served our drinks.
The food was amazing!!!
Food came out cold, the service was very very slow. Almost felt under staffed as it took us about 10 minutes each time to call a waiter. The food is over priced for what is it, much better Mexican joints in the area.
The frijoles charros is the best!!! I could bath in it!!!
The service was very slow; we had to ask repeatedly to order and also to get the bill.
Great place for a pre-theatre meal. Food was good and service very fast and friendly.
Sat for 15 minutes, no one came to even take our drinks order. yet the party of 3 who arrived after us somehow already had their starters. After 15 minutes of nothing, we left. Dreadful customer service.
The food was nice but the prices were high for the small size of the portions. Atmosphere was rather bland and noisy. We were kept waiting at the desk for the table we had booked, only to find that our friends had already been seated downstairs. The waiter was asked to bring water when we ordered, again before he left the table and we then had to ask 15 minutes later when it hadn't arrived. Overall we were disappointed.
Very slow service No house wine
First visit and very impressed with friendly and very efficient service and the quality of the food Will definitely return when next in the area
Best Mexican food I've ever had. The staff are incredible and really helpful and were even very polite when we were trying to speak very bad Spanish! Would highly recommend
The food was amazing!
Food is beautiful, and while the cooking staff are very friendly, the serving staff are very slow, very inattentive and generally not as friendly as the cooking staff. Had to ask for the bill three times, and on several occasions it’s taken a very long time for the wait staff to take our order. This is my favourite place to eat, but this is the only thing stopping it from being perfect.
The service was prompt and the waiter friendly and courteous. The food was tasty, served well and I would eat here again.
The absolute LOVELIEST of staff so wonderful, friendly and actually a real Mexican too! Oh and the food was fab as well!
Great food but they were REALLY busy! We had to wait almost 15 minutes for a table that was prebooked. The waiting staff were swamped and it was difficult to get someone's attention to get drinks. After a long wait, I would have expected this to be asked straight away. Still confused how the artisanal guacamole ran out??? Good food but you need to sort out helping out your wait staff who clearly had too many tables to look after!!
Great food and service! Perfect night out!
Best tacos in London, good vibe in the place, nice friendly service and value.
Generally good but not cheap !
We had a fantastic time! Food was great and the service even better
Good food and great for a quick lunch
Service and food were very good. Pitcher of sangria was excellent. The only downside was the lack of ambience. Didn't expect such a wide open space and bright lighting- it was quite empty when we were there so that didnt help. Felt more like a cafeteria setting vs a sit down restaurant. If you turm down the lights a bit it may help.
The waitress forgot a lot of what we had ordered and the service was really poor
